So to recap, r0ach, gembitz, nullius, and other off-topic shitheads are/were fine but on-topic wall-themed posts are irritating and shall be banished or voted out.

If only there was a feature that would allow some users to ignore other users instead of getting their panties in a bunch... but that would require exercising individual freedom of choice, and we obviously can't have that in this anarchist paradise, can we.

It is hard for me to imagine that an accurate poll will not reveal a strong group bias towards allowing it.

BTW (seriously now): I have a Chinese friend who told me that a friend of his was found dead in his home. He had been on a strict noodle-only diet for 1 month. Sudden death.

MSG overdose? Here in Bangkok my favorite is Mama noodles (Tom Yum flavor), spicy and tasty.

Looks better with black background.

If only there was a way to donate time.

I am all for a lightning (or Monero) tipping address by the way.  Not that I would give all that much because I am a greedy bastard.

Sure that would be nice but I mean actual time. Come on!  This is the 21st century.  I cant believe Theymos is dragging his heels on this.

I love the spicy...usually put a few extra squirts of sriracha.

It is hard for me to imagine that an accurate poll will not reveal a strong group bias towards allowing it.

Likely. But I'd say that unless someone is breaking forum rules (or infofront's rules) then it doesn't matter even if 6 out of 10 users dislike it. The haters can suck it up and scroll past the ~50 pixels taken up by an ignored post, and the few who find it useful can still find it useful. As opposed to it not existing at all.

I'm not a big fan of those CB posts (or rather I haven't bothered to figure out what it even means) and not a big fan of a ton of other shit that gets posted here or elsewhere on the forum, but if we start moderating content based on individual opinions or even majority opinions then this thread would be dead followed shortly by the forum itself.

Dominance:  BTC: 43.2%  ...

I don't care about the BTC price at the moment... the bitcoin dominance matters..!!!

We are going up +3.2% up from 39% just two todays ago.

Stop being a dipshit.

Dominance hardly means anything in the whole scheme of things.

You are busy looking at shadows in a cave rather than getting ur lil selfie into the actual daylight.

TL;DR: leveraged traders wiped out, whales took in loads of BTC on the cheap.

I talked to someone I got into BTC years ago today. He had a trading account with 2.3BTC, lost all of it, margin called. Lesson learned he said.

Many of us know that many of these guys proclaim that they are learning - but actions frequently speak louder than words, and when looking back at past action compared with present action (once they start to act again) really can be difficult to try to determine what it was that they actually learned from their previous fuck up.  I suppose the point is that it really takes a long time to learn, even when guys say that they actually learned something from whatever mistake(s) that they made.

Wow. And to think that, soon, many (most?) Bitcoin HoDLer wannabes won't be able to own even 1 BTC... What a waste.

Yep...   I have known a quite a few normies - whether through forums like this or in real life who struggle the fuck out of getting something around $10k invested into any kind of project or asset, even if they believe in it.

Sure, there are likely greater amounts of cash in the system, so maybe the $10k from 5 years ago is going to turn to $20k or even more, but still, the bitcoin price is likely to rise faster than the deflation of the dollar or the loss of value of the dollar, so even if we suggest that some peeps might be able to psychologically and financially commit to investing something like $20k into bitcoin, there are NOT going to be too many newbie normies who are going to be able to get up to 1 BTC...

which I guess we are merely recognizing a kind of sentimental transition away from bygone days and even a kind of reality that if any of us are still attempting to help normies with BTC accumulation targets that might be reasonably available to them based on the reality of their own circumstances, we are likely going to be needing to focus on BTC accumulation targets that are more within reasonable reach for their particular circumstances - whether we are talking about bitcoin or satoshis.. I suppose 0.21BTC could be a reasonable starting target, and then attempt to work up from there... and if it sounds better to describe that as a goal to get up to 21 million satoshis, then so be it.  Of course, other numbers could work too.. People do tend to like round numbers, so 1 million or 10 million satoshis does seem reasonable and within reach and can work up from there, if such lower-level targets are reached, then increase the target(s) after they are reached.

By the way, surely guys have their own levels of discretion, but I am thinking that it could also be helpful in terms of how we talk about our hypothetical stashes, and we might be willing to admit that we have already met some of the goals that we are helping newbies to meet or that we are also working on reaching the various newly established reasonable goals... and so in that regard, I do believe 21 million satoshis is a decent goal and does provide quite a bit to work with, including what I tend to attempt to work with on a regular basis.. so there is that angle, too.. it is no amount to be trifle about..or even to poo poo it.. so if ever we are working with our whole stash - which could happen from time to time, or sometimes we may well be choosing to divide it into more manageable parts - whether 1million each or 3million each or some other variable amount that feels comfortable for our own circumstances - including our future expectations .. that are not always easy to know in advance with any kind of precision.

Burnt 0.0025 Bitcoin today ($99) on behalf of a third party after a core dev of our network came under attack, felt great  Cool
Tx: https://btc.com/391126d13bdaf520f03ae69a25d4f14540ab51d63f6ef2116352a75fc56f2e2a
Reference: https://waterloggedforest.noblogs.org/post/2021/05/20/first-bitcoin-burnt/

I'll be continuing to burn or otherwise publish private keys of this third party that I am treasurer for after failed mediation process, so for anyone interested in some free Bitcoin to sweep, keep an eye on the blog! Sorry if any of you feel that this is merely promotion, but potentially, there will be a fair amount of Bitcoin burnt in the near future depending on outcome of a process of accountability. This should be considered as merely the beginning. There is also a key lesson to be learnt here: Never fuck with your Treasurer's allies!

This is otherwise considered the beginning of Phase 5 of this Bitcoin-based project: Promotion & Initiatives.

I'm not really annoyed by the bot-posts, but i can understand Arrie as well.

I first got into bitcoin for Poker.

Ever consider "provably fair poker"? .. I think SWC died already, had a version 2, then died again. I had a thread before somewhere here about it, seemed like a good idea, but no one ever tried to join my game, or no one else used the same idea.

There is this thing called "mental poker" and I do believe a few sites out there are using it to make fair poker games. Usually the RNG is suspect or the server (and the owner) might know the deck or shuffled card order.

In the end, the only issue would be collusion between players and there's not much you can do about that. I think PokerStars and the big poker networks have ways of finding out based on behavior but nothing that can really be proven. Still, they'll ban your account for suspected cheating.

For casual play, I just find the android ones that look nice to me, I don't really care about all the other features. Fresh Deck Poker .. so maybe it's not fair (altho I think they claim to be), but the characters look cool.

Also, I guess poker is not really poker if it doesn't involve real money (or bitcoin.)

In the early days of Bitcoin poker (I go all the way back to betco.in) collusion was almost as big a problem as it is now but there were mitigating factors.  Heads up games were a realistic option (although I loathe H/U outside of a tournament setting... too swingy for me) but the biggest mitigating factor was a great number of the folks who I was playing were either customers or vendors of the Silk Road.  Imagine playing a whole table of GemBlitz's.  LOL.  So with a little care to avoid the obvious collusion it was a great game back then.  Nowadays the colluders are better, and so are the players especially since Seals (and later SwC) became this sort of popular back room with some fairly serious players...

But the final nail for me is, having logged in just a few days ago and seeing they added BCH.

Sadness.

I mean, I get it, even if I disagree with it, as deposits and withdrawals are no longer realistic when using Seals.

BUT DAMMIT... why wouldn't they do a lightning implementation FIRST.  I know it might be tricky... but SO DOABLE!

In fact I have had the idea of a lightning based table...  you basically buy in by paying an invoice, and cash out the same way... no need for any account at all.  Only counterparty risk is the table itself.  In fact, I think it would be POSSIBLE to do "steaming" payments where you basically just have the client do lightning transactions in the background for every hand or even BET.  The bigest problems with this are probably game mechanics like how to defeat players going south etc...

Of course, PlanB is never going to see this tweet, but I found the coincidence too compelling.
I detailed a little bit more here.

Ban? When was the last time anyone got banned for a post in this thread? It's like a backdoor speakeasy, I don't think I've ever seen anyone get banned.

First off this thread still falls under the Global forum rules and there are those that target WO members in other parts of the board so there is zero reason to give them any ammo when a simple referral link complys.

Second refers to the bolded and my question to you is who would want to be the first?

Oh!  I agree with the basic sentiment behind this, but I disagree technically.  I think poker is poker... but put money on the table and the dynamics change quite a bit.  I like playing play money poker just as much as the "real thing" in some aspects.  In fact it is a great exercise in learning to adjust to extreme table dynamics.

Chart buddy should stay, posting every 4 hours is good enough.
I'm too "young" here to have really experienced ChartBuddy's posts, so just a suggestion: can the frequency of ChartBuddy be adjusted based on how active the topic is? There's not really a point of having 20 graphs on a page if nobody else posts.
But if there's a lot of activity in this topic, that usually means there's a lot of activity in the market, which means more frequent ChartBuddy posts would be a good thing!
So: how about one graph every N posts in this topic? I'd be more than happy to create a post counter somewhere on loyce.club so the bot can easily keep track of when to post.

Please stop resurrecting and let the idiot die.

What's the fucking point of chart buddy? it doesn't give any information that we don't already have. Everybody in here watches bitcoinity all the time anyway. It's just irritating.
The reason I wasn't active in this thread earlier was actually because of chart buddy, every time you dropped in on this thread you would see that fucking bot in post after post, taking up space and giving no useful information.
I basically stayed in the "Gentlemen..." thread or did not post at all until the idiot poster was gone.

I think your in the minority. You can choose to ignore

I think you are just a loud minority, just like the BLM et al. And he is already on ignore.
I might ignore Ricky as well as a matter of principle.

Edited.

It might be time to put you back on ignore, your going drama queen again.
