did coinbase customers info got [partially] leaked?
peeps are reporting 'i got you' messages:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/13tedzc/should_i_sent_a_dick_pic_back_to_assert_my/

I am not sure how it's related to Coinbase. I saw the email address was Coinbase@pro.space. But this is the receiver email. If a user uses their email on the internet, it's not hard for a scammer to collect email information from the internet and use them for their purposes. The email they got is pretty much an old scam. I am surprised these scam attempts still work, and people fall for it. The scammers send the same email to thousands of emails. One Reddit member said the Bitcoin address he received from a scammer to pay; he already got five $400 transactions. This means five people got scammed.

I did not see anyone commenting on whether they are Coinbase users.

Beijing has released a white paper titled "Web3 Innovation and Development White Paper (2023)"
--snip--
The release of the white paper suggests China opening up to the crypto industry to some extent.

Yes, they need to be able to ban it again.

China: openly banning, secretly allowing (or moving in this direction).
US: openly allowing, secretly banning (or moving in this direction)
EU: quoi??

hmmm

A few days ago, I saw a Tweet from BitcoinMagazine that China Central TV Broadcasted the news that Hong Kong is allowing retail investors to buy. China is quietly allowing it again. You can see the video on that Tweet too.

Life is a series of IQ tests.

it was 20 thou years ago and that's why we got so smart...it ain't now and that's why we are getting progressively dumb and dumberer...I have a front view as i see the level of students' intellect and preparation with a noticeable downslope in the last 12-15 years, accelerating after 2020. From my point of view, i don't see how it could be reversed. I don't know what is causing it, and why there is no urgent alarm sounded so far. We are on the way to 'idiocracy', maybe governed by the AI 'overloads'. I am sorry to paint a bleak picture...maybe someone has an explanation...I would like to hear it.

This is something serious. I have to dive into the darknet for a while.
I will come up with an update if I find one, at least.

Edit; Did not find any news.
Most darknet sales markets are scams.
Not sure if those things are real, but look at this—both markets are selling 1.1M coinbase users' emails.

Plans for supermarket price cap on basic food
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65736944

We're sounding like a banana republic.

Regardless, this will never work well for various reasons. Supermarkets first got a flavour of being a complete monopoly during the pandemic (via the help of our lovely government) and they will never want to see their billion pound profits go down.

Either they will increase prices elsewhere and/or squeeze their suppliers some more.

Maybe tying our currency to a finite supply of assets such as Bitcoin should be considered more seriously?
Make use of it properly rather than seeing it as yet another opportunity for tax revenue & control.

Today is premature DCA day  Cool
Decided to pull this one ahead for a few days.

OT:
Now proud co-owner of two horses since five days  Cool It's pretty relaxing to just watch them doing their thing.
I also finally had clear night skies yesterday, so i mounted my latest addition, a 1500mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for a first light test. The results were pretty surprising, despite the bright moonlight. Quite a hassle to repair the display of the cheap hand controller of the tracking mount at dusk light. Will post a pic later on, maybe i'll include a funny edit - surpise, perhaps?

HODL on, dudes!
