Yes and it's also on Spotify; I've asked all the pertinent questions but apparently I'm missing the point and I've decided it's easier simply to defer to her superior intelligence.  She's doing waaaaaay better in school than I ever did - I don't want to mess with that Smiley

The issue of ETFs is important both for the current year and for the next 2-3 years. If there is a possible rejection this summer, it is very likely that this year's bull market will end and we will return to the bear market until the effect of the halving is felt in 1 year. If accepted, it is possible to approach ATH already this year, i.e. to witness a unique bull cycle starting 1 year before the halving. It's clear that this is exactly why Blackrock wants to get in now, not when Bitcoin goes past 100K after the halving.

It is still not clear, whether the SEC is ready to change its mind. The news from yesterday (or the other day) is that Cboe Refiles Spot Bitcoin ETFs Following Surveillance Agreement with Coinbase, i.e. the text "Expected to enter into an SSA" is replaced by such an agreement already entered into. Of course, Blackrock were the first with a ready SSA.

https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/cboe-refiles-spot-bitcoin-etfs-following-surveillance-agreement-with-coinbase/

Henceforth, the SEC has 2 sensible answers and 1 completely illogical one - the result of personal intrigues, political and financial influence, etc.:

1. Direct approval of all spot ETFs. The SEC can now feel victorious that they have brought Coinbase into some form of regulation, so this option is quite likely.
2. Indirect approval, subject to extending the scope of SSA. This means a requirement for the so-called  pull actions i.e. the information-sharing agreement, under which the SEC will be able to request the personal data of those suspected of manipulations. I can only speculate here that Blackrock and the others would immediately enter into one, as long as Coinbase didn't object. Given that this will bode well for the stocks and help their future cooperation with the SEC, I believe that Coinbase has no basis for such a refusal. This topic is discussed in one article, but there is no comment from Blackrock et al.:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/blackrock-bitcoin-etf-application-takes-160452048.html
3. Denial on grounds of manipulation and that most of the volume is in non-US exchanges. This, of course, is just a front behind which are the nefarious interests of certain high-ranking bankers, feds and politicians who are pulling clown Gary's strings. However, this behavior is becoming increasingly unlikely, especially if the Grayscale wins the case and is joined by Blackrock in the event of a refusal. As Jay Clayton said recently, it is becoming very difficult to sustain the SEC denial.

So, the chances for an ETF approval are much higher now, than 2 months ago. And with a possible information-sharing agreement, IMO they would be over 90%.

I don't have any problem with anything that you said.. except the part where you say that bitcoin's bull run is going to end if an ETF is not approved this year... and we will return to a bear market.   Surely I have my doubts, and maybe it would be nice to see a denial of all the ETFs and to have bitcoin continue its UPpity in spite of such denial(s).

This is not the decoupling I asked for.  Cheesy

What is ES?  Some shitcoin?

By the way since bitcoin is an uncorrelated asset, it does not tend to follow.. except perhaps illusionarily in short-term periods..

I wuv it.

Except for the ending.

I'm contemplating asking making a plea to theymos to turn off merits for the WO thread. Yay or nay?
Nay. I find merit whores amusing.

If anything, figure out a way to ban any linking to Twitter. That's what's really annoying.
I second that from a slightly different angle. I never used the Ignore button much in the past, but I've taken a recent liking to it.

Banning links to Twitter seems a bit too draconian to me. As long as the OGs know better, merit whores will be mostly left empty handed here.
That's the thing. They don't fucking know better. Even though they should.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: its not so much about limiting spam but teaching the valuable lesson that being a lazy kiss-ass spammer doesn't pay in life.

If you want the idiotic twitter posts to stop, stop meriting merit farmers. If you want it to continue, by all means, keep meriting these asshats.

Its not some poor soul from a third-world country who needs a few shekels to buy grain for their family: it's a full fledged fucking enterprise and you're fucking enabling it.

Cry MOAR harder.

By the way, how's your Whiney ass petition to theymos going?

I know.
I still have the tape deck from my long gone 100 watt Pioneer stack stereo system. (The stack even included a CD player component. Pretty modern stuff for early 80’s tech)
I still use the cassette tape deck player to this day to digitize/convert ancient studio master mixed cassettes to wav files.

The whole world talks about unraveling its mystery? Huh

There isn't a mystery at all because the gigantic ship drowned in water due to its faulty construction and the heavy weight. No body has done anything with that gigantic ship, and whatever happened with the travelers was their destiny. If scientists somehow gain access to the ship once again then they will know that the iceberg wasn't the real cause of its drowning, but the faulty construction and its huge weight.

The Olympic sailed for decades built with the same spec and was constructed mostly at the same time as Titanic.
It most likely would have taken ice warnings far more serious after April 1912 than before.

Were the rivets bad quality? Perhaps and this certainly wouldn't have helped during the iceberg collision.
But nothing that is on the seabed could reveal much more than what is known now.
Sonar has already "possibly" revealed the damage to the 6 water tight compartments. But this is inconclusive and could be damage due to the ship hitting the seabed as damage was found on the port side as well.

Regardless, large fragments of the hull have already been raised and analysed.

Regarding the OceanGate suicide mission; Stockton Rush was a bigger idiot than The White Star Line and Captain Smith.
The Titanic would never have sailed if the cross Atlantic line had a similar success rate as Stockton Rush's Titanic expeditions of just 15%!

If the OceanGate transcripts that have been going around are real then I'm sure Rush was panicking for the last minutes of his life as the reality of his stupidity came to fruition (offloading ballast didn't make them rise quick enough and the cracking sounds must have been terrifying).
The stupid part is that most likely the whole thing could have been avoided during a large part of the descend as they were dropping far too fast, but no one cared to even check such a simple fact for an hour.

That link did not work, but information contained in the link gave me enough of a hint that I found this description.

Thanks for the link, Richy_T.

I see it's the RT - Russian Times... of course that particular article is not making too many waves on this side of the curtain. Yet. If other BRICS countries come out with a similar statement, it might get some traction.

Bitcoin is still plateauing, but a strange pop in Silver (metal) and gold miners (much more than gold): SLV and GDX are are up 4 and 5% respectively today.
I am not a bug, but maybe it points to some developments behind the scenes.

I have about 10k in silver.

Mine has mega bass!

..and auto reverse

nothing can beat 8 tracks switching tracks in the middle of a song

*ka-chunk*

The worst part of that wasnt the klunk but the leading silence from both sides of the tape.

We used to have one of those at a store I worked in as a kid.  The only one tape we had was Mickey Gilley; luckily it had a radio as well.

Had one in my 72 Gran Torino, Zep II, Houses of the Holy, Jimmy H (forgot which) and a few others I cant remeber. Zepplin basically just got swapped back and forth continuously. Cheesy
