I am actually amazed never seen anything hodl that strong like ICN today, even no news didn't affect it. It says a lot about how much people believe, that it will indeed succeed.
no news were planned for today anyway, just some random hype Best way to check hodl is etherscan - ~50% still in ico site and top 30 addresses haven't moved much, if at all |

I think the price rise can be attributed to a few reasons:
1) There is some slight expectation of news within a few days driving the price up - which is more just hype as there was no explicit mention of news by the Iconomi team. I don't think it will be an immediate platform release, but I have a hunch there will be some report on dividends/profits and small chance of a launch date within a few weeks. So I expect decently positive news. But who knows, Iconomi might surprise me.
2) Tons of members joining the Iconomi slack (I think I've noticed like 100 in the last three days). New investors are becoming aware of Iconomi's value and purchasing ICN.
3) Dash/Eth/Monero and other cryptocurrencies that have greatly risen, are consolidating to a new price before a new trend. Investors or speculators might be moving money from those into ICN because of its low entry price.
I think #2/3 have more impact than #1, mainly because ICN has be overlooked as of late. The news about the platform don't worry me too much (although there is a rumor of a Q1 2017 launch date which, as I understand, was never explicitly confirmed. The team did mention on a Medium article on 21st Feb that a limited public release will happen in about a month from the article date.)
If we break 40k satoshi, the FOMO may kick in and we could see ~50k or more. Until the platform is fully running with decent usage and dividends come in, I don't think ICN will go much higher than that unless the FOMO is really large.

Today when BTC for will happen BTC and BTC-U will dump other coin shares. 10% will go to stuck other chain transactions but 90% will flow to alts ETH/Monero/Dash those coins can get kick up like 4x more. ICN can allso get nice kick like 10x when old bitcoiners will be dumping alt chains to alts that will be massive re-balancing. Imagine Roger Ver dumping his 100 000BTC into alts what that will do to scene. THat will be BTC HYPER INFLATION. This is quite interesting scenario. If i were old bitcoiner i would all old BTC put into best alts from top 5-30 |

There is no other alt (not counting ETH) positioned as well as ICN to potentially take advantage of that right now IMHO. I think the timing of ICN is perfect too. It is not surprising to me there are index fund type projects popping up right now and not before, the market is beginning to mature to a point where this is feasible. Not that long ago you would be foolish to hold anything other than BTC long-term and most things you wouldn't want for more than quick pump and dump. There were few, if any, alts that provided significant advantages over or unique features compared to BTC. Now that has changed and we can see certain altcoins carving out niche markets for themselves by providing unique and specialized utility. I would argue the anonymity coins like monero and dash were the first to really do this for themselves, but ethereum is what opened the gates for a lot of others. With ethereum's tech there are so many new possibilities and we see markets forming around dAPPs, smart contracts, DAOs, etc. There are also storage coins (Storj, Sia), computing coins (Golem), decentralized global networks (MaidSafe), decentralized social media platforms (Steem), decentralized prediction markets (Augur), and more. Basically, there are finally enough quality projects that tap different markets (so as not to compete with each other in some approximation of a zero-sum game) to form a viable crypto index fund. |

I don't think so. New ICN cannot be created, unlike ICNX. I know, but it could be traded on there as it is on exchanges. And then any fees from trading could go to ICN holders haha. |

Why you can't using kraken? I think kraken is easy to use it and Nice exchanges I dont have any problem there. Kraken takes alot of time to get credited when using btc. I also prefer polo than kraken. And when people get locked out they dont let them back in. Causing them to lose money. I am still locked out of my main account despite NUMEROUS attempts to get back in via support. Useless exchange |
