In the event a batch stalls, refunds will be issued to the addresses used to fund the purchase.
How much of batch 6 has sold, how much remains, and what is the deadline for filling that batch?
'

Yes, seems to of stalled.  Maybe to move the thread to Group Buys.

Why move it? It seems to me it's still an active thread, with presumably more information to come regarding the hardware assembly for the completed batches. I personally think it still has a place in the Custom Hardware thread.

Also, batch 6 has already been purchased, correct?

No,batch 6 has NOT been purchased, its the first half of the batch still  Sad  Come on folks, lets get buyin chips!!!!!!!!!  Cheesy

I'm poking around looking for case/housing options for these miners.  What are the anticipated final dimensions of one fully assembled unit, please?  If the unit is stored in a case, would the bottom standoffs still be necessary? (i.e., do they serve some purpose other than providing spacing between stacked units?)

The heatsink is mounted directly to the backside of the PCB. When assembled, the "top" of the board with all the components is facing down, with the heatsink on top. The lower standoffs act as pillars to keep the face of the board off the ground.

The final dimensions of the fully assembled unit with fan mounted on top is close to 100mm, or a 10cm cube. This can be reduced when stacking by attaching the boards standoff to standoff, and placing the fan on the side of the stack.

Is there an ETA for getting the payment gateway setup? Also, how soon after that will payment for assembly/shipping be required?

I'm in one of the later batches, but plan to pay for assembly soon after the payment system opens. But I'll need some lead time to get the bitcoins into my account, so it would be great to have an estimate on when we should plan to pay.

As far as assembly, how will the orders be prioritized? Will it be by order date, or by assembly purchase payment date, or some other method?

Thanks again for all the work in setting up the group buys and assembly!

The payment gateway is the number one priority. The moment it has been finalized and tested it will be made available.

It has come to our attention several members did not receive the update email which was sent out. Below is a copy:

Good afternoon,

This email is an update on the status of the K16 mining unit and notice of assembly payment.
The sample chips have arrived and final testing is underway. Final purchasing will begin once the design has been confirmed.

The majority of parts sourcing for the K16 is now complete. The pricing found on the forum thread has been verified and finalized for each of the assembly services offered. Payment acceptance will begin shortly for the K16 design utilizing 16 Avalon chips to produce 4.5gh/s. The following assembly options are available:

Assembly only: This option includes only the electrical components necessary to produce the bare PCB and assemble with the ASIC chips you provide.
DIY Kit: A DIY kit with all the accessories needed to use the K16, not including the power supply and host computer.
Full Assembly: The finished unit with all parts installed. Additionally, Full Assembly may request testing for complete functionality prior to shipping.

BTC is the only accepted form of payment at this time.

The deadline for Assembly confirmation and payment is June 30th, 2013. We apologize for the short notice. The timeline for this project is very tight, and parts must be ordered quickly to ensure delivery before the assembly date.

Assembly will be processed in the order payment was accepted. A notice will be given in the thread with purchase instructions and link once the payment gateway has been tested.

Is this deadline for all batchs, or just the first batch?

Does the 6/30 deadline also apply to those of us in Batch 6?

I'm part of batch 5 and never got an email, it might be for just batch 1.

What address do we send to, the same batch address that our chips are in?

The deadline applies to batches 1-5.

The payment gateway should be ready within the next 48 hours. I wish i could give a definite date. There is a backup payment option in place should it not be ready in time. This has been in progress for weeks, and has been delayed due to circumstances outside of my control. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

One way or another, a payment method will be made available.

Steamboat, can you please answer the following questions?

In the event a batch stalls, refunds will be issued to the addresses used to fund the purchase.
How much of batch 6 has sold, how much remains, and what is the deadline for filling that batch?

Also, how large were the other batches?

Batches of 10,000 chips, IIRC.
Is Xian01 correct?

The batches are the standard 10,000 chip amount, similar to every batch purchased on the forums.

The Qty. available is in the thread name, and OP, and updated periodically.

There is no set date.

Thanks for your reply, and your patience with the questions, steamboat.

Did you read the OP or the subject line or avalons site? Is your google broken?

There are quite a few details to keep track of. Sorry I didn't catch every one and remember it indefinitely.

Steamboat himself has admitted that the forum is a sub-optimal way to store this info, but...that's what we have for now.

Your post was informative, though a bit rude. I appreciate the information. I'll keep it in mind to review those items before posting questions.

(EDIT: rephrased, added last sentence.)

I didn't get the Email and I don't see it in my spam filters. I'm concerned I'll miss future communications. What action can we take if we didn't get the email, to ensure that we will get future ones?

I've been wondering about when the assembly payment would be due, and getting the email would have REALLY helped with my planning RE getting the assembly funds converted into bitcoins in time. Now I'm gonna be pushing it getting the bitcoins into my account :/

PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW TO ENSURE WE ARE ON THE EMAIL LIST.

Thanks again for all the effort you've put into this Smiley

Thanks for the info.  Time to move some BTC from cold storage.  I'm in batch 3 and hadn't gotten an email about the 6/30 deadline -- what's the sending address so I can make sure it's whitelisted?

When was the e-mail sent? I can't find any e-mail either. Did anyone receive the e-mail at all?

So it's just luck I transferred cash in order to buy myself 12 bitcoins last week, I wouldn't have had enough by the deadline if not Tongue
