As bitcoin was used much for criminal activities in the past, people believe that bitcoin usage will get them into trouble. This needs to change, because these days usage of criminal activities have decreased a lot and more has started to invest into bitcoin as an investment.

Bitcoin is really a thing in criminality because it is all about money and what we all know some illegal transactions can be done easily online witout having a trace no doubt that it is really a perk in terrorist and we know that it is already being use.

Anonymity is a thing for criminals and bitcoin can give it to them, but it doesn't mean that you are perfectly anonymous. You can still be tracked the reason why many criminals are caught whose using bitcoin, even the silk road was shut down. We can't stop these people use bitcoin with their illegal acts, but I think without these illegal acts, bitcoin is not that used and have a low price.

Old truth - if something could be used to exploit people or to cheat others, or could be stolen or used in a fraudulent will - there will be people who will always take advantage.
Bitcoin is not some holy payment method which can be only used by good men. It is the currency for people who think - there is no chargeback or PayPal dispute here.
Just don't pay attention to overreaction from mass media, they like to exaggerate every negative aspect of BTC, just to gain more views and attention.

Honestly in my own view to that kind of matter os that we can't avoid it. Criminals will always find a way to take advantage of something in this case it is the security and privacy of Bitcoin. Now it is not Bitcoin's fault because Bitcoin is not built for criminal activities in the first place. Yes statistics show the use of Bitcoin but the government should do something else in order to lessen it aside from banning something.

Yes, it is not up to the Bitcoin or any other currency. In every era there have been good and bad people the bad people will make their ways to the crime in any case because they have come up with a criminal mind. No matter what ever the medium may be the criminals will commit the crime because of their choice so we can’t make the Bitcoin guilty of the illegal or criminal activities.

We must admit the fact that if bitcoin is user-friendly and better than fiat system then the benefits are not only limited to the legal users but also to the illegal users (those who are involved in illegal activities). In the coming future, we must address this issue in order to maintain the goodwill of the bitcoin. The governments will have a concrete reason to put the ban on using bitcoins under the sun and it will badly affect the (the users who are using it for normal/legal activities).
That is the excuse they will try to use, but it is going to fail if the will of the people wants bitcoin, just look at marijuana it is illegal but slowly the will of the people is changing the laws in several states and countries and the same is going to happen with bitcoin.

Well, the main thing that the government will seek is the control on the network and wealth and since Bitcoin is something that is beyond the control, they will try to somehow seek share from it in the way of taxes of tax or something like it. (I am not against taxes but the control and compromise in the privacy). We might see some major countries will legalise Bitcoin in next few years (they should do it imo) and it will help us to build the cryptocurrency friendly infrastructure and environment without affecting the core values and principles of this technology.

Anyone can commit a crime using anything, including using bitcoin. Because every evil there is always motive and intent. The most important is the prevention and punishment for the crime.

Even without bitcoin, crime has been with the society since the beginning. It just that the criminals found a way for them to commit crimes more convenient by using bitcoin. They are using it as a mode of payments on their criminal services and by selling illegal things and bitcoin is their mode of payment.
How do you know about paying bitcoins for their illegal transactions? Do you know someone who does it for their illegal transactions? Is it really possible today that they can use bitcoin for their illegal doings? I don't think this is right; you give people some ideas to so illegal doings using bitcoins. It will be not a good reputation for bitcoin if it's possible to do.
Even if someone is making illegal transaction even it is not a something too big to be highlighted for bitcoin and make the bitcoin responsible for all these acts.
We all know it very well that the USD is the most popular currency deal by the smugglers and the underworld so, I think this discussion is just a waste of time and nothing else.

Unfortunately crime  is an issue for any major currency, as we see more adoption we will also see a rise in the amount of people who use it for illegal purposes. That is nothing new. Take into consideration that the most used currency for illicit purposes is the US dollar

I'm not going to deny the fact that it probably has HELPED with opening up a new door to criminals, but I wouldn't say thats increased the criminality in places cause that's just an absurd claim to make. Think about it, criminals aren't just going to start committing crimes due to Bitcoin nor are they going to stop if Bitcoin is going to go away. They're just going to find a new medium to help them in between, and in my opinion I just think Bitcoin is one of the many minor ones that they're using.

Cash is always going to be king when it comes to this sort of thing, that's just bound to happen.

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.
That is just an excuse, bitcoin cannot increase the number of criminals or criminality is like saying that murders with  hammers have gone up because people have hammers, the ones committing the crimes are people and not the tools we use, they are trying to blame this on bitcoin in order to create bad press for it and to spread FUD so people don’t use it.

Yeah i also see some statements about this bitcoin being a cause of criminal things like drugs and terrorism, they are abusing bitcoins anonimity feature in order to do that illegal things freely
Yes criminality was connected to bitcoin. why? because bitcoin can used by anyone. We are free to do things that we want on it. And the fact that bitcoin was also a type of money this was the main cause of criminality. Criminals becomes greedy when it comes to money and we cant do anything to stop them instead the only thing we can do was to be careful.

Embarrassing of crime happened on bitcoin. bitcoin's peaking until the evil happens. This should be quickly followed up and punished appropriately. This is very embarrassing i guess, may the crime on bitcoin be quickly annihilated and hopefully will never happened again for the next.

Bitcoin is a kind of money that cannot touch it is only for computer. Some person that has knowledge about hacking of highly security can hack the privacy of person who have a lot of money. Using bitcoin you can buy and sell some illegal products.
I read some page that "Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other law enforcement begged to differ. Ross Ulbricht, the 31-year-old American who created Silk Road, a Bitcoin market facilitating the sale of $1 billion in illegal drugs, was sentenced to life in prison in February 2015.( http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/03/why-criminals-cant-hide-behind-bitcoin ) " so meaning bitcoin is so very highly money that can use for criminality. Be aware of using bitcoin there some country create a law that bitcoin is illegal in their country.

Criminals have gone to modernize their methods and it is not only Bitcoin that they can use hence even if we ban Bitcoin nor any other cryptocurrencies they can still develop a modernize method that's why we need to upgrade so we can follow up these criminals behind the bars in terms of law enforcement and the regulations we have. We should make the regulation that is effective and be sure to define the terms properly  and no holes left behind.

Unfortunately crime  is an issue for any major currency, as we see more adoption we will also see a rise in the amount of people who use it for illegal purposes. That is nothing new. Take into consideration that the most used currency for illicit purposes is the US dollar

Yeah, that is why bitcoin is banned on some countries, people are buying illegal stuffs like drugs ang illegal firearms, so in order to prevent this things, the Goverment
banned it on some countries. But right now, in those countries, they are starting to accept bitcoin because they are witnessing how bitcoin powerful is.

Japan is one of the example of the countries who accepted bitcoin as a currency, and if I'm not wrong North Korea already accept bitcoin also.

As the other guy said all currency are guilty with that, So the banning that you said is not acceptable because that is natural that currency can buy illegal stuff bitcoin and fiat are the same only. Your opinion is very wron because they are not banning bitcoin in their country and I think no country ban the bitcoin.
