This is one of the reasons others use to discourage others from using bitcoin because they would give the example of how bitcoin plays a role in some of the illegal activities so for someone who doesn't know anything about bitcoin, it would be his presumption that bitcoin is use for illegal means and would reject the possibility of being involved with it.
