I do not believe it, bitcoin can not be a reason for people to commit crimes and I think the crime always existed before the existence of this bitcoin.

That is true, the crimes are already existing even before the bitcoin come in our world. Bitcoin is a really great cryptocurrency and a lot of people are using it for good like they are using bitcoin as a source of income and also an investment but in terms of crimes, i don't think that bitcoin has a lot to do with that.

In my opinion, there will always be criminality regardless of what medium of value is used.

Bitcoin is in the spotlight now because it's unique, remarkable, heavily hyped in the news because of it's price/value, and easier to move compared to banknotes.... so authorities are alarmed because it will be more difficult to catch perpetrators.

I think maybe what makes authorities more disconcerted is the fact that the amount of equivalent cash moved at the time the crime was made can double or rise many folds so the criminals loot is worth more than when they originally were! They end up taking more to finance whatever other nefarious activity they have planned and that is indeed scary...

Hence, other large crimes involving fiat and other assets become overlooked because of the marvel of bitcoin.

I do not think bitcoin encourage people to be criminal or increase its activity.  This criminal activity will still happen even if bitcoin does not exist.  One of the proof is the criminal activity that was recorded even before Bitcoin were created.  Criminals will use all possible means to do their illegal activities whether they are using Bitcoin or not.

That was absolutely correct. In addition, if we are going to analyze the crimes involving bitcoin, most of it will only be virtual and within our online accounts. Unlike with fiat, the crimes that may happen are physical and life threatening. Both are alarming, but if we are going to compare these two I think the crimes involving fiat are more dangerous. Moreover, people must be extremely cautious, and as much as possible avoid exposing their resources in public or online that may attract the eyes of criminals.

I think it depends on the people who use bitcoin, because even in other coin if the people want to use or to do a criminality they can do it whenever they want and where ever they are. Don't just focus on bitcoin disadvantage to cover the real crimanality act of other things.

I do not really look to bitcoin as a reason of criminality. It is always depend on the perso  whether they choose to do so. Just like other crimes out of th scope of technology, is is a person's decision to commit a crime and to the other person if he or she would choose to be part of it. Theymay use bitcoin to do so, but they cannot control another person to be involved in it. Bitcoin has nothing to do with it.

Yes, I agree. It's undeniable that as bitcoin gets so much development, criminals develop more room for their innovation. But in my opinion, in everything, every medium that money is involved, criminality rises. See how criminals see banks as a big opportunity to steal money. Bitcoin became famous to them because it met some standards that they needed, especially the decentralization and anonymity.

Criminals has been present even before bitcoins were ever invented. But the possibility of bitcoin being used by these criminals is there because they can use it to finance crimes (drugs, terrorists). But i dont think that these will impede the ever growing popularity of bitcoin.

Criminals will use anything that they want as a form of payment - either bitcoin, fiat cash, properties, artworks, and the like. It is really not our concern how they are going to use bitcoin for themselves though because that is really the original concept - to be free from any regulations.

Criminals are active all over the world with bitcoin or without bitcoin. Theres a chance of using btc in crime but my point is that even without btc they can do a crime any time.
