This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities. This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along. I don't think the bitcoin has been a connection to it. Although it is a good way to launder money, there are and always will be ways. if its not the bitcoin it will be something else. |

Well Bitcoin can be relate to criminality when it is use to illegal transaction. Like on deepweb, we know that there are illegal jobs or doing ongoing there. To keep being anonymous, i think the transaction there is in Bitcoin since its transaction keep you being anonymous. And also using Bitcoin that way, there transaction would be fast.

Bitcoin is fully Anonymous so chance to use criminality. Bit coin is used to buy drugs and weapons.Bit coin exchange is used for most cyber crime activities.
Not all people used their bitcoin in cybercrime activities, here in my country bitcoin now is so popular and many people used it every day in their life and i never heard any bad news about bitcoin that used in criminal activities like buying drugs and guns. But since bitcoin transaction is anonymous and easy to use it is a big percentage to use it in criminal activities. |

This is just a tactic or strategy to destroy and stop bitcoin. As far as I remember, cybercriminals has long been existed before bitcoin came into scene. These cybercriminals used a lot of strategies like credit card fraud, skimming and other online scamming. They are just using bitcoin because of its fast-growing value and popularity around the world. |

Do not think it have increased criminality .
The most obvious transactions are and were in DarWeb, I for one think that it decreased criminality in a way since interactions between criminal entitys decreased because of btc, people did not have to search for dealers on the street and dealers did not have to search for distributors thus violence decreased.
Something else is bothering me- that countries like IRAN and NorthKorea can easily bypass sanctions because of btc.

While i can say that i agree on some of your statements back then, I don't think that it is still the same case nowadays. Because you see, a lot of criminals back then really thought that bitcoin was dead on anonymous and used it for transactions benefiting their criminal activities. But after a few years, the authorities found the flaws of the bitcoin's security or anonymity. And found ways to track criminals. Which is why criminals today are now switching to other cryptos and the most famous is monero. |

Crime and bitcoin are common, I hate people who abuse bitcoin as a means of payment in criminal activity. This results in a negative public reaction to bitcoin, so it is certain that people will be affected with bad bitcoin which results in it not wanting to use bitcoin.

Maybe and maybe just another propaganda to destroy the image of bitcoin. It is not surprising that in some countries like mine, the government has even issued a memorandum that states bitcoin being a very risky and dangerous investment. All negative speculations have been mentioned which cause panic and doubts to some bitcoin user.

No doubt about that. If fiats are being used in criminality bitcoin will be easy for them to use but i hope they will not use this reason to just destroy bitcoin’s image because after all there are still people who wants nothing more in bitcoin and other cryptos but to benefit in a clean and fair way. |

criminality with bitcoin, i am really not surprised though because everything good has a bad side. with the decentralization of bitcoin it is now easy for criminals to move money with easy within their comfort zone since there is no third party involved

criminals and bitcoin can be one of the most terrible things in the hands of bad guys. bitcoin can be used for corruption asset storage cases and harm the state. but I hope bitcoin will be one of the things that is positive and not used for negative things.

I think Bitcoin was used a while back in the Silk Road thing. They sold drugs and accepted BTC payments, eventually they got caught by the FBI in San Francisco and the Bitcoins auctioned off. Just one of the bigger examples, I'm sure there are more.

I do not believe it. Even before, there is a crime that really happens. Because of the bad desire for everyone who wants to commit a crime. There are various reasons why one wants to commit a crime. But still i doubt that because bitcoin has increased the status of crime there. They did just that report to destroy the bitcoin.
