Any chance you know how to make a bootstrap.dat file? ..or could upload your updated appdata folder ( less your wallet.dat ofcourse, haha) to github or the like? I think having either of those 2 things available would solve sync issues at least for awhile.

Yes, the repository on github is on mullicks name since he added checkpoint after accidental fork earlier this year.

I pulled my wallet.dat file  and zipped the Bitbar directory.

I tried it on my laptop and it works.

The weird thing to me is that my bitbar chain data base is unlike bitcoin and litecoin. There are only three files: blk0001.dat, blkindex.dat and the file log.000000026 is the database folder.

To make a bootstap.dat file (at least for the above mentioned coins) you cram all the blk files together and rename it.

Don't know how to do it for bitbar.

I have a total of 9 Gridseed Blades with an average hash of about 45 mh split between two computers.
Why two rigs ? each unit has two cards, for a total of 18 usb connections, plus I can mine two different coins if I want.

I started mining pools like btb.mastermining.net - they are ASIC friendly, then I built my pool. I started with one using https://github.com/MPOS/php-mpos/wiki/Quick-Start-Guide but it only does one coin.
I'm using https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal now.

There are ways to solo mine your own wallet, but I never looked into it.
I'm sure there are lot's of web sites with step by step instructions for both windows and linux.
If you have a spare computer and a lot of free time, it's a good way to dive into linux. it's how I started 13 months ago.

Thanks for the links. If you go into the console and type "setgenerate true" it will default to using all possible cpu power towards mining. You can set the number of cores being used by typing that number after "setgenerate true".  After that I don't know how to solo-mine with the wallet. I know there is a way to add gpus and asics even and not use the cpu but it's on the internet somewhere.. lol I remember seeing it in the past.

Do you know how to get the wallet to stake? I haven't found much info on that, really just that its supposed to stake.. I hope its not all crazy like Peercoin. When I type "getinfo" in the console I get this:

Proof of Stake blocks are eligible after 30 days, and can take longer depending on the amount being staked.

For maximum stake, one must wait 90days.

Also wallet cannot be locked.

 I have a computer dedicated to staking wallets.

The fact that BTB stakes is really why I wanted to mess with the coin, so thanks for getting me squared away.

 Now, if my buy order on Crypsy goes through soon I'll be a happy camper.

I'm getting this error message when i click the forum button @ Bitbar.co: "CGI Error

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers."




I also tried solomining with the bitbar-qt wallet...my miners get "SICK" and then after 10 minutes they are "DEAD" in BFGMiner 5.2. I've never solomined usng my asic miners before so I don't know what to expect. Certainly I expect some blocks though! lol

I did however get the ras pi which is how I control my asics(from outside in the shed) and the Bitbar-QT wallet on my windows machine(inside the house) to connect through my home network so I thought that was an achievement. I'm going to search more about the getting "sick" thing.
