Announcement on Erasing 148 Futures Assets on August 15th

On 15th June 2017, ViaBTC released a “148/ETH” futures trading pair to prepare for a potential UASF activated by BIP 148, and made a series of precautions for possible risks therefrom. As stated in the official announcement:

“After 00:00 15th August 2017 (UTC Time), if the BIP148 split chain cannot last, we will cancel the “148/ETH” trading pair and all your “148” assets will be erased from your account.”

As a plan that is highly possible to split Bitcoin and therefore very dangerous for the entire Bitcoin community, BIP 148 had soon lost support and seen its failure as SegWit2x was locked in and activated according to New York Agreement. The BIP 148 chain failed to last due to lack of hashing power support.

According to our announcement, ViaBTC will put offline the 148/ETH trading pair and erase ALL 148 futures asset in your account after 00:00 15th August 2017 (UTC Time). Please make precautions for potential risks.

ViaBTC reserves the rights of final explanation for this statement.

These same names owned the same amount of btc pre-fork.
These people will not be 3rd parties controlling and monitoring transactions.
