I would approach it very negatively, but then I changed my mind. I will neglect its funtional weakness, and start buying bitcoin cash every day to benefit from speculative actions.

Im sure it will change soon but so far no pools have found a single block in 8 hours its all unknown taking them all wheres btctop, antpool, viabtc etc all gone they were finding blocks fairly regular must be taking a breather so not to push the difficulty up above parity and allow it to be raped on the next difficulty adjust

When the magical mystery miner decides to cash in on all the coins he's mining, virtually solo ATM? Oh BTW, you must not be keeping up to date on the mempool situation with BTC. It is quite possible to sneak in a zero fee transaction, especially over the past couple of days, when the mempool was virtually cleared out. I guess Jihan's spam-a-lot bot must be having technical difficulties just like the Bitmain webpage seems to have almost daily.

2017-2024 is nearly the duration of Bitcoin's entire existence currently.... let's worry about that after we deal with the decidedly crippling of the network via cap limitations. Until the network can handle the throughput it is dead as soon as someone comes along to carry the load... oh wait, that someone is here.

The overall market cap is small relatively speaking, we saw ~$20B yanked out less than 24 hours from now to yesterday. See how fast she dropped?

No one said LN is just for bitcoin its a layer that will allow instant transactions between users/companies and different competing chains without the need for exchanges that can shut down any time and risk users loosing money

It cost money to run a lightning network node so it wont be free forever. Also you have to settle transaction on the blockchain. Most casual users wont use it If u just want to use 1 or 2 transaction.

Of course it would be a good idea if all the infrastructure is there and all other coins have lightning and we can atomic swap but in the mean time just take the advise of the core devs, dont use btc for transactions.  HA HA HA
