Hello!
Is there any detailed guide for installing Yacoin wallet on Ubuntu 16.04. I have tried "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yacoin/yacoin" and then "sudo apt-get update" but what then? How can I run it?
Sorry for noob question but Yacoin files differ from usual core  wallet files as dogecoin-qt for example just to run in terminal ./dogecoin-qt

The 'official' yacoin github was updated a little prematurely for version 0.4.8 and is being worked on, but 0.4.4 still works https://github.com/yacoin/yacoin/releases

At the moment, Yobit is the only exchange. I have sent in a support ticket myself. I suggest people keep sending support tickets, but it seems like they are unable to keep up with tickets as is the case with most exchanges right now.

It would be a good idea to lobby another exchange to support YAC. If anyone has a good candidate, please point it out.

If there's any devs on the project here - pm me.

Would be interested in helping out with a website redesign + other things to help this coin.

What about Alcurex? They had YAC/BTC in the past but I don't know why it got delisted.

Back then, I think they were picky with coins they added, and YACoin had low volume. I'll try to reach out to them. Thanks for the tip.

@beave162
no deposit addresses on Yobit?. I've ticketed them but not expecting a reply anytime soon. Have you asked  them to update the wallet?
Thanks

I sent in a ticket. I did not ask them to update anything. Perhaps, if they receive enough tickets from different users, they will fix these deposit issues.

Bottomline, YACoin needs another exchange.

Could be the exchange. For some reason, people still severely underestimate the power of manipulation that exchanges and insiders to the exchanges possess. Unfortunately, it is a necessary evil.

Reminder:

YAC stands for Your Alternative Currency.

There was no ICO. Money was not taken from investors with an expectation of return. Developers are not compensated directly (with the exception of user-funded bounties, which are still outstanding).

YACoin was the most innovative coin at its inception in 2013. That legacy will continue into the future.

If you want to invest now and watch your investment grow significantly, contribute to the development fund, run a node and mine with your CPU, lobby exchanges to support it, contribute to the website (it could use a new, functioning paper wallet feature https://github.com/yacoin/yacoin.org).

Right now, YACoin:

1) Is the ONLY cryptocurrency on the NFactor 19 Scrypt-ChaCha algorithm.
2) Is likely the only cryptocurrency that alternates from PoS block to PoW block consistently.
3) Has one of the lowest current annualized inflation rates among other non-premined cryptocurrencies.

It doesn't look like yac.yacoin.club is up and running any more.  Are there any current mining pools?  If not, can we set one up?
