maybe it will survive, if people continue supporting bitcoin then it will survive after 100 year, but we don't know in the future if they continue support bitcoin because when the bitcoin price go up then the transaction fee will go up also so maybe they will use other coin with cheap transaction fee.

bitcoin will survive till 100 years or more, but we dont know the price rate in the next 100 years right? we hope that in next 100 years bitcoin is becoming popular and all people hava bitcoin wallet in their smartphone, if this happen bitcoin will become a trasure and hard to find

Well it depends if technology and online use will still be abundant then. There's a chance that 100years from now, with the rate we're destroying the planet and war always looming, there won't be anything to support bitcoin then. Pretty grim to think about but its a possibility to consider as well

Indeed, we worry about bitcoin and about going to mars but without planet there is no need for currency

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
I think bitcoin can do really last for a long time span even more than 100 years since in our current time we can see and observe that the price is really pretty that it has already reached its highest price mark of $6,000 from its dump. Bitcoin has already proven that it has the capability and capacity to make itself rise to last longer and make it more beneficial to its users. So I bet, with this situation bitcoin can do last for a longer time span because it can attract many people to get engage to it to gain more support that will lead to make bitcoin last longer.

100 years is the longest time according to my personal opinion...However, we are not destined to see this clearly. Bitcoin such as we know it can not survive only if, during this time, it turns into a different digital currency, with improved capabilities, overcoming its present individual flaws.I think maybe bitcoin may be that long, the possibility of bitcoin will disappear soon in time, then we should take advantage of the current bitcoin should not be wasted alone. This crypto currency has a clear future and it is perfect.

Each member and each person in the world will have different opinion about the bitcoin in its long term sustaining speculation. Thats because everyone has different relation with bitcoin, some of them are earning big some of them are loosing big with it so they will speak according it. I mean I'm sure if we speak with J.P. Morgan about it then as financial advisor he will say bitcoin is juts scam and it collapse at any time. But that not true really and 100 years is completely possible.

Yes its not just string but it is actually getting more stringer with the time. It is attracting many business as well investors too. This will lead to its long term use and hence it will drive very long for sure.

We can't predict that bitcoins will last for 100 years but now in the market it is in great demand and it is most profitable and yes it's a good start for bitcoins and it will go on for a long time. Bitcoins are Key to the road that brings new era.

I think bitcoin will last more than 100 years, or maybe bitcoin will be replaced by altcoin, because altcoin now continues to grow along with bitcoin, but bitcoin is still the first choice of investors

It's a question of the future, I do not think I will be like 100 years.
I guess the bitcoin would be worth 1,000,000$

Regardless of what bitcoin's fiat worth is there will always be enough to go around as 1 bitcoin is divisible many, many decimals/values. For this reason I say yes bitcoin will be around in 100 years. The only question is if it is still profitable for miners but I presume it will be, maybe somebody could clarify this.
I think it would , because basically bitcoin price had survived different problems in terms of development and changes in regards to transactions so it can definitely surpass different hindrance it would take to have in the pass 100 years or in the future. So If you are going to support bitcoin as a form if transaction in a daily basis it would help bitcoin development as well as supporting it on having investment and business.

We can say that if bitcoin and keep its name in a hundred years, it will be another bitcoin, with other features and functions. It is also possible that a completely new technological solution to the money issue will appear in such a time. Everything will depend on how the development of the states themselves will go. A scenario is possible when not individual groups of states will be united in unions like the European Union, and all states of the world will unite in one super-state to solve global issues of a planetary scale. Then the crypto currency will recognize significant changes and it is still difficult for us to judge them.

I agree with you, especially if you look at the situation through the prism of today's time. But we need to take into account the fact that 100 years are very long term and during this time new technologies may appear.

Ethereum is garnering quite the network effect for itself, but will it scale? The latter is effectively the thing that an Ethereum take over hinges on. After witnessing the Bitcoin scaling debacle, it honestly makes me doubtful of the political issues that come along with the scaling of any cryptocurrency.

Effectively, even though Bitcoin has its issues, I think that it will exist and even thrive over the next 100ish years. A lot can change in that amount of time, but Bitcoin will survive during this time, which is the question posed in the OP. The cryptocurrency "top 10" in market capitalization will look very different in 100 years I am sure....

100 years is a very long time. One way to to see the future is to look at the past. How many things from 100 years ago have survived to today? My guess is that 99% of things have been superseded by other things - it doesn't mean the original idea is gone, just that it's form has changed. Model T has been replaced by Honda or Nissan, planes by better plane, light bulbs by LED's etc. etc. So my guess is that cryptocurrencies will be around, but bitcoin won't be. "In my day we used Bitcoin" - Dad you are so old fashioned.

I think Bitcoin will survive as long as people still use bitcoin as the currency in the crypto world and also till we will have internet.

Bitcoin will stay because it is the new era,it is cashless or nothing. Since the modenization of the world bitcoin will defintly be part of it, we will purchase, pay or bills and do trading and investement with bitcoin.

It will be around but in a different format or different system. Look at the almighty USD - still around, but not pegged to gold - and that was fairly recent in the grand scheme of the world.

No, it won't. I have a strong feeling it will end in like 30 years. It won't be that popular anymore
