1) Given the unstable nature of crypto (hah), what solution have users come up with to avoid the fact that although drop-loss is recommended at 5%, sometimes the nature of these currencies is that there are often 5% spikes downwards, and sharp returns to normal-ish levels?
I've had the 5% sell-off kick in, losing me positions at a loss before >.<
2) If I set the drop loss lower, then sometimes I forget about it (hello ltc), and then I get a surprise update to say my holdings have been liquidated.
I know I should be paying more attention to situations for 2) - that's not a problem - I'll just be more vigilant ... any advice for 1) ?

@stephan224 Can you add the btcchina exchange for trading? Possible bug?: I know that the all-in checkbox will save a 10% amount for safety/commission etc. However, if I try to enter my wallet contents above this figure (manually, without using the All-in checkbox), it doesn't seem to let me sometimes - even at 95% of the wallet value (I'm trying figures about 400 coins), the box remains red.

I have resisted posting, trying to troubleshoot... but going to throw this out now, see if I can get some feedback on what I may be missing. There have been a number of users indicating the bot would trade once then freeze forever. That is what I am experiencing. The first trade occurs predictably for the given settings, but the bot then never trades again. Closing and starting over gives the same result. One trade & dead. I can trade manually through the bot without issue. After the initial trade, the bot indicates in the Debug Log that it is trying to sell, but never does (see image below) There is enough market raise that it should have traded. Under the Support tab, it says they bot is sending the command to sell, and is waiting for the exchange to confirm. Again, manual trades are successful. I have yet to get this version of the bot to trade more then once before it hangs like this. I welcome input on what may be going on here.

Same thing happened here on one occasion. At the moment I don't have the drop loss activated, and just hope that if there is a sudden crash overnight while I'm asleep in bed, my MA indicator will catch it soon enough and liquidate my holdings. It's a bit risky, but the way I see it, unless you set the drop-loss indicator really low (much less than 95% IMO), it's likely to get you in even more trouble. But if you set it too low... then what's the point at all? Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a cool feature to have at our dispense, but something that needs to be used carefully. Having said that, I'd be interested if anyone else has other successful experiences with it.

Continuing to try to troubleshoot the fail-to-trade issue. Settings: BTC-e LTC/BTC MACD engine using SMA 10/21 Using "All In" setting To recap, bot will trade initially, but never make a 2nd trade (been testing for days now) dispite favorable market conditions. Manual trades will go through. I am getting this error now with manual trades, although the trades still go through: Would love some ideas on what I am doing wrong.

@r32godzilla & @Istie: I will have a look at Cryptsy, i am not trading on that exchange myself so i need to get in there first. I will be back about this issue. @miaoux: I am not sure if i will add btcchina, i am waiting for more requests to add it. I will have a look at the Wallet again. @seanrarey and @kireinaha: I will have a look ath both your issue. The trading here goes pretty well. @seanrarey: That soud very strange, it should show something else. I am still happy the trading is working anyway.

Anyone else having trouble logging into the API at Cryptsy with V0.9.0.2? It used to work fine but now I keep getting an 'Unable to authorise request..' error. I have tried regenerating new API keys as well. BTC-e works fine tho. Any ideas?
Yes, I am having the same issue. Cryptsy worked with 9.0.1 but not with 9.0.2

To clarify, no the bot is _not_ trading. It will trade once then stall forever... never trading again. It says is is, but never does. I can trade manually through it to test it, but then I get that error.

Which exchange, and which pair (BTC/USD?). I have yet to get it to trade properly on BTCe. I have tried BTC/USD, BTC/LTC, and LTC/USD.

Thanks. As a trouble-shooting test, I would like to re-install the bot & run mirrored settings with someone that has it working. I am hoping that then when yours trades & mine does not, we can dig into it & find out what is causing the problem.

I'm going to ask this here for Stephan, given that there might be a concerted interest. BTCChina has 0% commission. I'm sure we all realise that this allows us to make money with even the slightest of fluctuations. As a general, open question, are there are users who might be interested in this being added? I'm not speaking for Stephan, but I'm hoping that if enough of us (who are trading already) would like this, he'll take notice and file it into his to-do list

Stephen, I have not mentioned this, because there were bigger things to fix... but should mention it now in case it is contributing or a clue to the problem.
The bot has never installed a "Start" link properly. In installs a link called "Simple Trade Bot.appref-ms", but the system does not know what to do with this link/file. I always have to "start" the bot using the "setup" file in the installation folder. I don't know if that is causing any problems.
After failing to get 9.0.2 to function properly (freezing & failing to ever make a 2nd trade), I uninstalled it again, and went in & deleted the files/folders it leaves behind after the uninstall.
After making sure there was nothing left of the install, I shut the system down, did a cold start & re-installed. I am now back on BTCe using MACD signals, and have seen the bot make 2 successful trades for the first time.
It should be noted that the wallet continues to show inaccurate data.
The bot is installed on a windows 7 machine if that helps.

I have been trying to mess with the new min drop/min raise indicator but I'm finding difficulty. Anyone is having same trouble?
I have suggested before to add a percent indicator with a increaser/decreaser scroller for the min. drop and min. raise adjustments. I can't visualize much easier way to manage the drop/raises triggers. To warn the trader about the trading fees coverage, the box could be red until the percentage covers the the fees.
Also the All-in % discount safety could also have the same adjustment as described above. The box should be red until the amount trade is able to cover the fees.

It would appear that even after all the install/install, the bot is still not working properly.
As far as I can tell, it is coming down to wallet-read errors. The bot is losing track of the wallet amounts, even when it is the one that made the trades that caused the wallet contents to change. Since it is mistaken about how how much crypto is in the account, it tries to make trades that fail; causing the bot to stall.
Anybody else seeing this?

That's weird. I'm pretty sure I had something like that previously where the wallet wasn't updating (but I had a nonce error, so it's pbb not directly related), but with the 0.9.0.2b (latest), my troubles went away.
