I understand the need to differentiate from the current logo imagery to something different. The question mark design is a bit too intense for me. I prefer the simple "A" logo that has been thrown around a bit more. On a side note, I was wondering if anyone has had difficulties withdrawing from Cryptsy? I made a withdrawal, it still hasn't shown up, confirmed via the email they sent and they have said the, "check's in the mail..." Great... However when I check the transaction ID it doesn't show up on the blockchain at all. I've rescanned my wallet a few times to no avail. Just wanted to see if anyone else has recently been having issues.  [edit.- FYI, It seems like Cryptsy's ANC wallet is down right now or having some issues which they hope to resolve shortly. Hence my transactions haven't posted. Ahh Cryptsy how I love and hate thee lol.]

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

If you open a ticket, they will resolve this in about 24h. I've had this happen several times, and it worries me alot: Either they are running a fractional reserve racket, or their software really sucks. In either case, I will not trust them until they get an external audit done.

Perhaps you should remove the sentence "darkets, exchanges, and coin mixers..."

I don't think that there any "ANC coin mixers", and even if there were, these would always be less secure than using zerocoins.

I was just copying text from anoncoin.net and shortening it.
Anyway, the meaning of the text is not the point here Wink
Just putting my logo in a context to make it more "real".

A lot of effort to get Anoncoins up and running.   Just got the I2P network running and the Anoncoin wallet has been syncing for half an hour with probably another 45 mins to go!!!

I wonder if this puts people off joining this currency and if it hurts/helps it?

I'm using without I2P , syncing was half hour , without any problems with wallet for about 6 months since I have ANC.
People will join sooner or later.
For me personaly ,  high price is not the target, I just want to send my money/BTC/ANC without tracking.
I have need for that because I want and like my privacy.

So I'm waiting Zero in ANC, and I'm all in this coin. Untill now I'm invest 35% planed.

I think the sync time is really just fine, especially, as srAGon925 [edit] points out, in comparison with Bitcoin. If ANC offers unique and solid anonymity, no one will mind the start-up/set-up issues. Think of the relative slowness of Tor, for example.

Wasn't me who pointed that out, it was Dragon.
I have had no problem with my bitcoin wallet at all, it synced almost immediately.

The Idea of it I like. However I think most, if not 90% of people I know that might be interested in this kind of anonymity, would be put off by the difficulty of the whole setup process involved.
Especially when the wallet says its ready but it isn't and you need to go do a whole lot more work/syncing to get it even functioning.

The time isn't really the problem, its the whole process.  I know this might be the price of anonymity, but I think it could be streamlined a LOT more if that's what the creators wanted.

I guess that's the way it is intended at this stage however, otherwise I am sure it would have been addressed by now!

I wanted to compare the speed of synchronizing anc/btc from the beginning ..
But the daily synching is also faster at least x105
I use the wallet over clearnet, so I do not know how is with Tor/I2P

And for all who use Clearnet,

with Zercoin it will make transactions anonymous even with clearnet use, which is why it is important to complete it. That way everyone that know how to use bitcoin/litecoin today will be able to use anoncoin to stay anonymous.

This is wrong.
There are certain attacks to check if a given *coin{d,-qt} has an address in its wallet or not. So it is still a good idea to use it over I2P, otherwise you can map the location to an anddress.

perhaps you could change the logo to something not so illuminati pyramid style... found the logos with an ? better.

Hello,

I have tried many designs and here's the only one I'm really satisfied with.
I prefer the question mark as ANC symbol rather than the A as the question mark directly suggests anonymity.
By adding a square to the question mark, it draws a locker and a A. So you can find in the logo concepts of anonymity (the question mark), security (the locker), anoncoin (the A), and coin (the circle).
Here's a few variations in black, white and gray:
http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/735241ancgray2.png
And for those who like colors, I've made a little jsfiddle you can play with (just click the image to pop the color picker) Wink
http://jsfiddle.net/SQ4Jk/5/embedded/result/

I hope you like it as it will probably be my last try Wink

AGostrfZbpPSv9rCZQ1vfFrZHYNMbZEZyZ

I like this!!
And not just locker, you can see A , all in one!

The last one is my favorite.

I like the last one.  Smiley

I like the top right one with the color suggestion.  That's my vote.  In general, I prefer the "?" one over the pyramid one.

speaking pr and streamlining the wallet i have some thoughts/suggestions:

i guess the long term goal is to get as many transactions as possible thru anoncoin, not just VIP tech people wants anonymous transactions... if this is true: simple info, easy set up and use is the way to go.

when communicating general info about anoncoin, TOR, I2P and Zerocoin should be mentioned together, as it is now in some places I2P gets all the attention while TOR (all caps!) is not mentioned at all. maybe "darknets" should be used instead, as it is explaining itself better then I2P/TOR.

there should be a graphic interface for every setting in the wallet (no need for text editor), every setting should be possible to change after being set. for example the choice between I2P/TOR.

TOR should be represented with a tab in the wallet Preferences.

as much as possible should be as intuitive as possible, but a pdf user guide could be included in the wallet download.

is the optional transaction fee only speeding up outgoing transactions or incoming aswell?

in the status bar:
even if i have clearnet connection (aswell tor-only, but not running tor) it dispalys TOR only connection.
even if i have clearnet/tor-only it displays DYN (random i2p adress)

on the startup warning "You are running on clearnet" there should be an option to stop and shut down, not only OK - go ahead.

the Multibit bitcoin wallet has a great feature that displays the current market value.

the startup splash screen is not transparent where it should be.

the wallet could have a darker shade of grey theme to separate itself from the other wallets.

firefox treats anoncoin.net as suspicious and asks for security certificate, scary for John Doe.

i respect that the tech is the priority, an empty shell is not good. but the shell is crucial to reach out.

once again, respect.

Do we have an ETA for when Zero will be implemented into ANC?

The longer we wait the more traction DarkCoin (DRK), Monero (MRO) and Bytecoin (BCN), etc will gain
