Did the ixcoin.co site get updated? I see the new logo's up on there, but it's fairly ugly as of now. I'd much prefer the new versions that newflash posted up (with the clear backgrounds). And someone please do something about the ugly stretched logo up on the top left.

I'm willing to give access to folks so they can tweak the website.

All these delays are dragging the coin down. Within a few months it will be choked under tons of scamcoins.

Yes, this indeed is a competitive environment that you can't rest on your laurels.

I have no idea why so many of these coins that got released just yesterday gets so much trading volume.

One consolation is, two other coins that were higher before in cap with iXcoin are now lower:

Freicoin - This coin has one of the better dev. teams and has been cited in coindesk and several other media outlets.

Terracoin - This coin is listed in BTC-E.

So should coins like MoonCoin, KittehCoin and Particle that got released just a week ago be worth more than iXcoin?   How much do you think these coins will be worth 1 or 2 1/2 years from now?

There is a game that is being played,  if you panic then you may end up holding a crap coin rather than one with real value.

In the past month, these coins that where once higher in iXcoin in market cap are now lower:

Freicoin   $ 1,763,407   $ 0.048   36,390,518 FRC   $ 400   +2.22 %

It is all wordpress.

However, as much as I would like a helping hand,  your handle isn't familiar and I haven't seen an earlier contribution from you.

Anyway,  I would like to see someone volunteer who is willing to commit the time and effort.

Lukeconnell? Are you ready to start the show?

Hello. There is no need to rush as iXcoin is already on exchanges and available to be traded. If iXcoin is to be setup as a professional alternative to Bitcoin it will require time to become the brother of Bitcoin so to speak therefore if it takes two weeks or more so be it. Don't be concerned about all these new coins as they are all just short term speculative bubbles similar to stock IPO's on their first few days or weeks when the market buys in each time they are released with the purpose to sell at a higher price within a short period of time. iXcoin doesn't have that issue.

I've offered to cover the cost of designing a logo and a website and to facilitate the voting.

I had offered to use a third party service which would have had hundreds of designers submit their concepts for the logo however the community on here appears to have their eyes set on using a specific design. I'm fine with this because logo 23 (whichever colour) and logo 12 are both suitable options for the brand.

I will personally come up with a number of web design concepts over the weekend for voting and if none of those are suitable I'll use a third party service to encourage many different designs from designers around the world which we would then be able to review and vote on.

I have existing work commitments therefore the weekend is best for me to put time aside.

There appears to be a very small but active community for iXcoin and I suspect a rush from some in the community to get something up fast to make a quick exit or to drive the price up and secure a quick profit. I'm focused on helping iXcoin become a real alternative.

iXcoin will have one thing almost all the altcoin's don't have aside from Dogecoin and that's access to global media agencies and news outlets. I believe the focus should be on producing a quality, professional and stable website along with windows, linux, android and iOS wallet applications.

Good night for now.

Regards, Luke.

Collected info about the 3rd iXcoin exchange C-CEX.com

- Ukrainian exchange
- full operational from February 20th 2014
- SSL, VPS, 2FA
- direct funding and withdrawal using http://payeer.com/en/

my ixcoin wallet is telling me no addresses are valid, got a fix please?

what version is this?

it's version 0.3.24.30-beta
is there going to be a mac version? that would be so much easier for me

There is a 0.8.6 Mac OS X version downloadable here:  https://sourceforge.net/projects/ixcoin-ng/files/iXcoin/ixcoin-0.8.6/beta/

thanks

Yeah, Luke, can you add to this?  iXcoin has no access to any media.  We can't even get coindesk to write an article.  Most think iXcoin is dead so what and how exactly does iXcoin have access to media that no all coins have cause I see many alt coins in the media all the time.  Even crappy coins like Coinye and FeatherCoin.  iXcoin gets zero media compared to these coins and a new website and logo Will not change much at all so what so you mean, Luke?

We would all appreciate some honest help here cause I feel Vlad and Friction are right, we will soon be buried under a massive avalanche of new coins and with new high budget brand coins coming in they will steal all the media, mindshare and investment money.

We have to move on this and if most votes are in I see no reason to wait 2 more weeks.  I feel there are important things you're not telling us, Luke.  I'm a long term holder as are many here so please level with us.

Sounds like maybe a dubious Mickey Mouse exchange.  We can't even get on a good exchange and Luke thinks we will have media access like no other coin.  lol, I don't know if I wanna laugh or cry.  What's the guy talking about?  Maybe he's the one looking for a quick profit with talk like that.

Sounds like maybe Luke thinks a new website and logo will do all this.

NewsFlash:  That won't happen.  We'll be lucky to get a couple things written about us. You can tell our newbie Luke is a newbie to cryptos.  It takes a lot to get media attention now with nearly 300 alt coins floating around.

So don't get your hopes up, I think Luke just overestimates what a new website and logo can do.  He'll soon learn things in crypto-land aren't what they were even 3 months ago.  And this is why we should hurry up and launch that website sooner than later.

But I digress...

There are two possibilities:
- all the lazy holders have, by coincidence, bought ixcoin
- the real holders are just a few, but very big ones

I don't believe in coincidence.

There are 3 possibilities.  Even though the second one is very much the case as well.  Holding a large % of coins, and not trading them causes the coin to grow very stale.

The 3rd possibility, which I know for a fact exists, as I have a few friends that are big BTC miners.  The coin is merge mined with BTC.  That is a blessing and a huge curse rolled into 1.  The BTC miners are getting these coins, but since they are worth virtually nothing, they don't even bother downloading a wallet to pick them up or sell.  They just sit there collecting dust, and causing the coin to grow stale in the process.  They aren't even touching their NMC coins, as they feel $7 a coin isn't worth their time to collect them up and sell either.

Granted Cryptsy isn't the biggest exchange out there.  But looking at volumes and seeing times where no IXC was traded, ad other times when 3 coins traded here, 7 there is very discouraging to anyone wishing to invest in this coin.  Especially when you consider the sheer number of coins that are available in the market.  This isn't 21 coin we are talking about here.

However, how do you explain the massive trading volume of NMC every day?  In BTC-E NMC ranks #3 in trading volume after BTC and LTC.  So your explanation that miners just hold the coins also doesn't explain the lack of trading volume.

Collected info about the 3rd iXcoin exchange C-CEX.com

- Ukrainian exchange
- full operational from February 20th 2014
- SSL, VPS, 2FA
- direct funding and withdrawal using http://payeer.com/en/
- the trading fee will probably be 0,2%

Twitter: https://twitter.com/CryptoCurrEncyX

Sounds like maybe a dubious Mickey Mouse exchange.  We can't even get on a good exchange and Luke thinks we will have media access like no other coin.  lol, I don't know if I wanna laugh or cry.  What's the guy talking about?  Maybe he's the one looking for a quick profit with talk like that.

In general,  you pay for global media access.  What I understand is that Luke is ready to bank roll this.

No, he made it clear he will only pay for a logo (which is done and we paid for it with our coins), a new website (minimal costs but I'm very grateful) and the voting process which may cost a few hundred bucks.

Luke just reiterated that's all he's paying for.  And a lot of coins have received media attention and a lot have good sized budgets due to their values to easily pay for News releases which only cost $100 a piece, so the advantage he speaks of makes ZERO sense.

So no, I don't think Luke realizes what's really going on here.  He's hardly on this site which tells me he's not exactly in touch with the new crypto reality.  A website and logo got you attention last year with 12 alt coins in existence but now it means nothing as far as media coverage.

We should really do something on our own to speed things up cause 80% of it is done without Luke, we even have a nearly completed website.  We just need to finish the website and do a formal re-launch and that will get us some free media press and we'll go from there.

We have talent here offering to design the website.  Who wants to wait for Luke's cryptic messaging to come true and who wants to take this to the next level now since we're nearly there on our own anyway?

Do you want the keys to add content to the website?

Do you want to manage all the translations that are needed for an international website?

Here's the link to the translation tracking tool:  https://crowdin.net/project/ixcoin

Are you going to step up and do the work?

Probably MarkM is right, when the price will go up to 1 USD many wallets will be opened, giving real liquidity to the coin.
So, the coin will be traded more when the price will reach 1 dollar, but to reach one dollar iXc needs an higher trading volume.

"A dog biting its tail" condition. We need a way out. Learning from the crazy dogecoin results, we need excellent marketing along with good development (even a BTC-e or a BTC38.com exchange). And ... we need it ... now.
We need to  sparkle the process.

"A dog biting its tail" condition. We need a way out. Learning from the crazy dogecoin results, we need excellent marketing along with good development (even a BTC-e or a BTC38.com exchange). And ... we need it ... now.
We need to  sparkle the process.

DogeCoin is an excellet example of what marketing and good development can do.  Here is a background:

Quote
Dogecoin was created by programmer and former IBM engineer Billy Markus of Portland, Oregon. He was originally trying to tinker with an existing cryptocurrency of Markus's called "Bells" based on Nintendo's Animal Crossing. His hopes were reaching a broader demographic than the investors who made up Bitcoin's economy and something that wouldn't be involved with the controversial history behind Bitcoin (namely its association with the Silk Road).[12]

At the same time, his friend Jackson Palmer, a worker for a marketing department in Sydney, Australia for Adobe Systems, and the original individual who first conceived of the idea for Dogecoin, was encouraged by a student at Front Range Community College on Twitter to make the idea reality.[13] This led Palmer to reach out to Markus.[14]

After getting several mentions on Twitter, Palmer bought the domain dogecoin.com, which was shown to Markus and quickly began the partnership between Markus and Palmer, launching the coin shortly after the development of Markus' Dogecoin wallet was done.[15]

So, if some dude from Sydney, Australia can market DOGEcoin to be big,  then some dude from Melbourne, Australia can do the same.

If some former IBM engineer can develop DOGECoin then some former IBM engineer can also develop iXcoin.
