I like the merged mining.  I'll add 10,000 IXC to the bounty for the Ixcoin client upgrade.

Don't give any coins to anybody until we get something set in stone.

The last update took literally 5 months and lots of people had problems with the new client.  Given we paid good money for that update, that shouldn't have taken more than a few weeks and it should have ran perfectly fine.

So let's first make it clear as to what exact updates will be done and how long it will take for the work to be completed with the bounty being paid in either 3 stages or after the job has been successfully completed.

no real hard work, happy to contribute, since I was studying the source code to this and iO to learn more about merged mining ..... alas.... i learned some things however BlueDragon747 (the blake coin developer) is way ahead and we will probably have merged mining of photon and blake coin out in a few days,   a little off topic here ,

hell I would like a pool that just went after namecoin, devcoin, iO and IX but i don't think it possible since btc is the parent chain......

that pool looks like it has not hit a block in a real long time.....

There's been talk about 2 different updates.

One would be just the latest Bitcoin code.

But more importantly we've talking about doing a code update to include counter party and I believe also colored coins.

And we were hoping to be able to get it all done [and have the most advanced coin on the planet] as part of the next Bitcoin code update but we have a budget issue since Thomas doesn't check in but once every few months so we don't know how much bounty money is left.

If someone else wants to confirm this, it would be good.

Blake coin isn't even a SHA256 coin, so how is it going to be merged mined?

We can't because people who own IXC are just in it to hoard the coin and not to contribute to invest in it.

IXC is a good coin with good technical fundamentals,  I have those details documented here:  http://www.ixcoin.co/?page_id=80

However, we have stingy investors.

iXcoin is actually doing quite well relative to other coins that have come and gone.

It has a marketcap of 1,306,212, which is much 500,000 more than DEV Coin.

Other more well known coins like TRC (traded in BTC-E),   DigitalCoin have fallen off the map.

IXC is soon to catch up with WorldCoin, MegaCoin and even NovaCoin (NVC).

So folks that keep claiming that this coin is dead should take a look at its performance relative all these other junk coins.

If we can raise enough bounty, we can pursue more advanced features.

Also note:  i0coin... only traded in insolvent Vircurex... has completely fallen off the map.

I talked to the owner of the exchange cryptoczar.com.  They are FinCen compliant and are in NYC.

I think we should pursue trying to get IXC into cryptoczar.com.  The platform is designed to make market making much easier.   One of the biggest issues with IXC is the lack of liquidity.   cryptoczar will reward large IXC holders that provide better liquidity of the coin.

I think if large IXC holder just want to hoard the coin, they therefore should allow some level of liqudity to the trading and be rewarded for it.

I think as a first step is to request Vircurex to de-list IXC from their exchange.   That will first consolidate IXC trading in Cryptsy and lead to a more transparent market.  The Vircurex market is a complete farce in that it is more of a bait and swithch,  enticing folks to put in their BTC only to get it confiscated.   I will send a request to Vircurex to de-list IXC.

The decentralized exchanges are nice but they will lack liquidity.  Furthermore, the execution speed will not be one that a trade would desire.

I vote that IXC focus on getting on cryptoczar.

I vote for immediate acceptance of iXc on Cryptoczar. If it is accepted on it,
you can ask this community to stop trading on Vircurex and withdraw ixc from it.
At that point Vircurex, and all the members of this community, will be willing to see iXc removed from Vircurex.

Folks, please send requests to CryptoCzar to have IXC included.    Let us try to maintain at most 3 major exchanges for IXC.   Having more will dilute the liquidity.

Vircurex should be dumped due to what they have caused in harm to the crypto community.

What if friction did the dev work to get things updated, but added in the changes, such as an 80 byte op_return, to make it friendly to counterparty system.

Then because friction is in a good place to know and modify the ix code, the community supports an ipo for a counterparty style metacoin protocol. Friction (if wants) can then be paid from said ipo. Apossible name ,    x-coin.


In any event by making ixcoin more friendly then bitcoin it should attract SOMEONE to create a "more Fair" counterparty system. Then they do all of the marketing and get the buzzz going.

And soon ixcoin will reach one million dollars( pinky in mouth with evil lauhter)

Let me check if the 80 byte op_return is already in the current codebase.    One of the big issues is getting the pools to accept the newest version.   

There will be no need to IPO a counteryparty style metacoin, since the coin consumed by this kind of coin would be IXcoin itself!
