Having responded to an update request on IXCoin's thread it has occurred to me that since obviously all the merged mined SHA256 coins are related some DeVCoin afficionados might be wondering whether DeVCoin got left behind by the intrepid Ixians...

...So this post is to assure you that, like the Ixians, the Devonians or however one likes to style them - DeVCoin supporters - were indeed right in there alongside the Ixians, building their own "clan", the Devos.

Further, in case any of you had of course long known that, I thought I would try to help ameliorate any disappointment you might have been feeling upon noticing that the Devos, unlike the Ixians, are not shown as having any children.

Well set your minds at ease!

There are a variety of "types" of group (clan is the catch-all term equivalent to group) in CoffeeMUD, and of them all I think it is only the "Family" type that enrolls the children of its members as "officers", and thus it is only the "families" that show off their children on that "current clans" information page.

It is actually extremely likely that all the current "clans" (groups) have children, it is just that even if the children automatically enter into the group (clan) of the parent-figure who "brought them up", they usually do not enter as "officers", rather as some lower rank.

So be assured that there are indeed children growing up to join the Devos Gang!

Sounds very interesting and as nescessity is the mother of all invention then quite useful. Looks like something not only Devcoin could look into but probably collaborate with the likes of Namecoin even.

i search and i found davicoin and dragon vein and even divinecoin stole the ticker DVC. so its worring that not even coinmarketcap or coingecko remember these coin.
last time i saw it was at vircurex, that folded very long time ago. and freeiexchange.
from waht i see there are scam tokens on eth etc that are listed and trading /facepalm.
source code on github should be ok.

FreiExchange moved it to their LiTeCoin exchange, FreiXlite, when it fell below 1 bitcoin-satoshi.

Lately it has been trading there for litetoshis so to speak.

It is also traded on HORIZON and Stellar platforms.

I originally created this DevCoin faucet back in 2015, and it had been functioning reliably until January 2025, when my VPS provider unexpectedly wiped the server (the reasons are complex and beyond the scope here). I restored the backup from November 10, 2023, successfully relaunching both the faucet and blockchain explorer services.

However, the current issue is that the node cannot synchronize with the blockchain due to a lack of peer connections. The latest block header remains stuck at height 610,575 (timestamp: 2024-05-19 17:06:18), with no updates for over 20 hours. Attempts to connect to explorer.devcoin.org on port 52333 failed as the port appears closed.

Questions:

Are there any publicly accessible peers currently available for DevCoin?
Are there alternative methods to force blockchain synchronization (e.g., manual block import)?

What if I told you one of the people I have become friends with since 2022 and since me and one of my friends started in the old entrepreneurial partnership and value investment business in boring old equities and distressed debt we are also friends with a former Wall Street titan who we are invited to buy a house down in beautiful Argentina to invest in and also see a lot more of Fernando potentially.

The man is possibly the smartest 65 year old Wall Street vet that ended up early building an empire of Real Estate luxury hotels and vineyards and wine tourism boutique resorts and now houses on 4900 sq mi in the Mendoza wine country of the Andes foothills. We are friends because I never ask him for money and I invested in his company when it was getting naked shorted to shit during Gensler's bs SEC chair term. But the company is fine. Asset sheet and businesses are wonderful and succesful since the 2010's.

Coinbase got approved by the government regulators to operate in Argentina this past 6 months, forget exactly win.

Did I mention that my friend who I am on the phone with at 3 PM CT every Friday (gotta go actually - almost that time) has hosted every President's diplomatic lunch meetings at the Algodon Mansion in Buenos Aires since Macri?

I bet we could get to those regulators and Coinbase with a use for the strongest merge mined hardened blockchain out there.

I think I could convince my friend and partner that we fund everything until then. Let's make our devcoins derive their value from the fact the United States RESERVE ASSET blockchain is something we're fused into. We're like the ore that is valuable to use after extracting whatever metals are the main reason for mining. A lot of ore is very valuable because it is mined with the main resource and companies still use that ore for very important uses.

Let's start finding that use.

I will keep working my nuts off to gain $ for this. But its going great. Also if I can be on the same side of the equator as Fernando with ability to go to him and vice versa more - I think we don't have any reason to give up. Ever.
