Hi Dave, check the C-cex page on bitcointalk forum.

My intent is not to fud, I just want people to be safe, than sorry.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=418700.3300

The situation has been developing on that thread - at the last 10 pages or so.

It amounts to the exchange being under-fire from locking XVG wallets of many users several months ago - they still have no relief.

In the worst case scenario the exchange is taken completely down in the short term.

Wow, don't have time to read that, but on first glimpse that didn't look too good. There seem to be a lot of angry people who have lost(?) significant amounts and aim to bring it down....
Thx for giving out the warnings. Wink

I really like it. Very much simplified if you have multiple computers. You only need 1 biblepay wallet, then boinc on each machine. Very nice!

TESTING PROOF-OF-DISTRIBUTED-COMPUTING:

Please join us in testing Proof-of-DC.

I think we will need at least 50 participants to join in, so we can work out all the bugs in each layer.

If we can get this going by mid March, we can potentially go live end of first quarter with it.

http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=108.msg1362#msg1362

We will need at least 10 sanctuaries set up in Testnet also.  The SanctuaryQuorum needs set up on these Sancs.

"You may start your client in testnet by adding the "-testnet" suffix." ./biblepayd -testnet

In your biblepay.conf file, you can also add:  testnet=1

When setting up a sanctuary (masternode) in testnet, also be aware that the port number is different, I think 40001 for testnet (vs 40000 for main/production)
and Watchman also has to be set to testnet in its config watchman.conf, have to uncomment network=testnet and comment network=mainnet
http://wiki.biblepay.org/Create_Masternode#BiblePay_Sanctuaries_Setup_-_Linux_Server

If you need test BBP coins (tBBP), just ask in the forums and someone will send you some

What is Proof of Distributed Computing?
https://www.reddit.com/r/BiblePay/comments/7uzqlb/proof_of_distributed_computing_cancer_research/

We still need more Testers,
Goal is for 10 Sanctuaries and 50 Researchers,
So far we have 10+ Sanctuaries and 20+ Researchers

I will gladly vote to reward Testers in BBP for their time!

Linux Hot Sanctuary: http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=108.msg1444#msg1444
Windows Wallet v1.0.9.3: http://www.biblepay.org/#wallets-section

Testnet Testing Thread: http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=108.msg1362#msg1362

Here is a step by step guide Ive compiled: http://wiki.biblepay.org/Distributed_Computing_2

Testing is going well! If anyone else wants to jump in and help test please do!

Nice after we have been listed on their i think we should focus on the other straight away, we can be the driving force to get listed as the devs work hard on the charity projects etc

You are correct, it is not yet trading for general public.
I believe those who bought into the ICO can trade early.

Update new on the Purepool Biblepay pool Smiley

The pool is now working quite stable for a week, with first blocks found. Hopefully, more miners will join the pool and help finding more and more blocks.

Plus there are some changes made to the pool in the last 7 days:
1. More statistics are available on the statistics page
2. Improved handling of incoming biblepay addresses. We now deny invalid addresses already on mining
3. Improved performance with added memcache
4. Improved security with enhanced solution validations (thx Rob)

But indeed, more miners are welcome, the pool needs to grow.
The pool is still at 0% pool fee for at least one more week, so use it until it will rise (a small fee will be required to pay the hosting of the three servers)

C-cex appears to be in some hot water legally, i recommend all of you to withdrawal your BTC and other coins from that exchange as quickly as possible. Some have been saying that the site is accessible via VPN. I personally am unable to connect to the site.

Cryptopia would be the ideal exchange to get on. Masternodes galore on that exchange, and the volume is really great. I figure its extremely expensive to get listed there though.

JC, Could you please elaborate?  Where can I find more info explaining what is going on?  I would really appreciate it, because I have lots and lots of people asking about this now and in the other community a dev is working with the owner and I really need more info bad... Thanks a lot.

Ok, never mind I saw your reply to Dave_BBP, and read the last 10 pages:

Whew, I thought you were pointing out some pending lawsuit against c-cex that would certainly or potentially be shutting them down.
So after reading all that about ccex losing the private keys to the XVG cold wallet, and hence losing all the funds, and hence offering an alternative ticker for XVG refunds at only half the price, I see customer service issues and a practice possibly without going the extra mile, but didnt see anything about a pending lawsuit, an international violation, or anything claiming that they risk "dissapearing" or being in "Hot Water Legally".

So in summary it appears at this point in time, a lot of customers are very mad.   Although, please, lets  keep monitoring this, and if there is an indication they may go under, we need to let everyone know.

I agree we need more exchanges and more diversification so we can offer higher security reliability and liquidity.
