yay syncing.. finally.

thanks to those above...

here is my addnodes.. in easier to copy and past format

Code:
addnode=cap.nodes.btcrypt.net:7685
addnode=46.105.118.226
addnode=84.200.17.249
addnode=72.52.231.153
addnode=50.117.78.242
addnode=173.208.172.242
addnode=173.192.180.226
addnode=144.76.33.10
addnode=23.251.65.46
addnode=50.137.233.14
addnode=69.10.44.115
addnode=192.64.86.238
addnode=70.98.114.237
addnode=2.101.76.175
addnode=24.255.59.102

just make sure you got 1.5.2 and these nodes in your conf and all is good.
Added. I have 1.5.2. but still "out of sync"! This coin is worthless! How will normal people set this up!

Can't seem to connect to network. Anyone have a list of good nodes?

Ugh, solved it. Had to use BottleCaps.conf instead of bottlecaps.conf (linux)
Unbelievable!

Hey guys,

The guy that was going to help me set up the new wallet has gone MIA, I'm setting up a new checkpoint server today.

I can't do the wallet work myself but if someone would like to help with that let me know.

I'll post the addnode for the checkpoint server as soon as it's ready.

I wouldn't post the IP of the CP server.  Just asking to get hacked.  If you are going to run it, keep it private. Just open it up to 20 connections and you should be in good shape.

Did mullick give you the private key as well?

Yes I have the private key.  I'm not worried about it getting hacked but I did decide not to post the IP for other reasons.

I presume this thing is forked to hell given the state of the block count and circulation etc?

http://btcrypt.net/currencies/CAP.html

I can't keep in sync even after deleting the local blockchain several times and starting a sync from scratch.

Any ideas? I guess we'll need the checkpoint IP to be known if there's any chance of getting back in sync, otherwise its worthless?

You need flounds updated wallet (further back in this thread).

It should be v1.5.2.1-g32a928e-flound ... although there's been loads of forks, so its a bit messed up at the moment. Seems to have stabilized a bit now, but I'd use at your own risk.

Updated wallet should help a bit though as I assume the orphans are using the old wallet?

Checkpoint server is up, check your daemons to see if you're still getting an error about checkpoints.

If you are, you can addnode 192.241.222.16 (for now) and that should get you connected.  I'm planning to bring down that server soon though.

There is no incompatibility between the 'flound' version, and the other versions, the only difference is the IRC network it uses to find peers (the old version uses an IRC network that bans coin daemon bots) so finding peers will be a bit easier if you have the flound version.  If you use the addnode above there is no reason to upgrade to my version.

I've only got the linux one running, though it looks like you don't need the new version to get on the network and synced properly.

Hello all.

I was wondering if there is any want in this community to increase the PoS interest. It is so low 1% and degrading over time, that is more of a detriment then an advantage that this level.

I am willing to code up a fork for a few months out, plus a few other key issues. Maybe some coin control, fast start, fast stake.

What % would we want to goto? Some poplar ones.

Mint 25 .
NVC 100 start, down to 40-50ish
PHS 50, I think still at 50
HBN 100, still 100
TEK 500.
CENT 1 bigilion?

I think doing something the 250% range could be fun. It would also degrade over difficulty, like HBN/NVC/PHS/TEK, so no out of control inflation. Could also slowly ram it up, add 10% each month till we go to target.

Anyway just a thought, would need a few people to help Q/C and test.

Edit: We should also get Mullick's attention/permission. He may not want this coin played with much.

I think this sounds like a good idea. Revamp CAP. Get the community excited about the coin again. Update the wallet with some essential features like coin control and stake weight monitoring.

The last commit on github was 8 months ago, might be time for an update?  I know Mullick is always busy with all of the various projects going on.  Anyways I just bought a chunk and am excited to see the staking process with this coin. I know that HBN (my favorite coin) was cloned from CAP.

From a coin economics point of view would there be a benefit to reducing the maturity to something like 15 or 20 days?  It might allow more coins to flow onto exchanges rather than being stuck waiting for stake.

Sounds cool.  This coin needs some lovin'.

Although I don't think the slow ramp up is the best idea as it is a bit of a deterrent to getting involved (ie 'I'll just wait until next week/month/year to get involved, not worth my time now') compared to high initial rate that serves to attract people right now...which is what CAP needs.

Not sure if Mullick cares at all anymore, never responds to anybodies questions here and never responds whenever I have mentioned CAP related things on Cryptsy chat.
