So long story short, a friend owed me for a favor and since I did not have bitcoin before he asked If I would take it in BTC. I didn't mind since I can cash out whenever.
My question is.. what do you think? Its a decent chunk of money for me to just hope something keeps rising, do you think I should "let it ride" or cash out and just be happy with ~$500?

Its yours so its all up to you.. Whether sell it at a real value in the market or cash it out for $500 ..But if i were you,
I would ask my friend who gave that bitcoin to me and ask for helpful tips and advice. He might even help and teach you about cryptocurrency. You should just let it ride. Hold it for now..
Then dump it at the right time.

I will suggest you to keep the bitcoins in your wallet and wait for few years. You can easily expect $10000 with this much bitcoins in 10 years.

In case you are still holding it then you can go for trading to altcoins for both short-term or long-term. Or if you willing to cash it then your bitcoin is worth $202.87.

Well the .03 btc is equal to 206 usd and probably i suggest to hold it though , the price of bitcoin seems low almost 6k usd so better to hold it or invest it on eth or ltc.
Entering to this business is an honor for everyone and should be as it is the only business with huge and high outcome and an investor should be productive. Now in your case if you are productive then you have to buy more Bitcoins as the price is low and getting more Bitcoins are affordable now. So buy more and wait while it increases for profit time.

It is quite risky if you can afford to lose all of your money that means $500 then invest in Bitcoin but if you are worried about your money and want a complete return in cash out Bitcoins right now. Bitcoin has changed many lives remember they have put their $500 into Bitcoin and forgot about it and asking like 6 and 7 years when they checked they have around $2,000 to $3,000.

My advise to you is to keep you bitcoin in your wallet patiently and wait the price to rise up to grow your investment.

I think you got an answer to your questions. I think you will choose to have more bitcoins. Do invest, trade , buy and sell ,so that you can enjoy your cash out if it grows.

In my opinion, if you need money then you can withdraw the money. And if you do not need it yet and can use that money to invest then leave it at this moment and wait for a short time that amount will grow even further. The Bitcoin market is very potential for investment. Think about what I say.

Maybe we do not need it now so we just keep the Bitcoin wallet. I am very sure Bitcoin has a very good value to rise and reach the highest level of all time, because people are very interested in Bitcoin. In using the investment may want to melt half and leave half in the wallet or want to exchange it.

0.3 is not such a big amount of money, but still i will like to tell that if you have some experience in trading crytpo currencies, then you should invest the the amount in trading different good potential coins, from which you ca make  good profit from it. Therefore you can choose a cheep coin but having a good potential whose price can increase too much in near future.

I don't think keep it as a souvenir is a good ideal at all because Bitcoin has to work , that's it's mission, keep it safe in your wallet in a few years then selling out is really worst plan. In those few years, you could actually invest it and make the amount grow then maybe you could multiples it in many times and send back some amount for your friend like a gift ?

your money your choice.  ..  but if you need that money now that maybe you just cash it out and be merry about it
if not and you want to take a risk then gamble it (that is what I do) there are tons of online casino sites (or almost all of the casino sites accept bitcoin)
hmmm one alternative too is investment. .   invest it on different altcoin or what they call an alt coin . . there tons of activities you can do with that money

Just hold it and wait for it to rise up. If you hold your bitcoin before and sold it when it reached 120000$, maybe you have been gained profit. But if you sold immediately, you still gained because someone just gave it to you.

If you have time - start studying and find out, what are the ways to turn it into $1000 and then to $10000, withdrawal is not the case, if you are not in need right now, I think.

Since you have already obtained Bitcoin for the first time, the better thing you must do is to seek for ways on how you can manage to make it into a larger amount since you know that there is a possibility that the Bitcoin you have received can grow in terms of Bitcoin which means you know how Bitcoin runs nowadays. It is much better if you will expand your capability to grow rather than cashing it out already because you know, larger opportunities can come once you seek for more because expect that your money can grow can lead you to a possible success that was offered by Bitcoins capabilities and capacity to make that 0.03 grow.
