The best way is to hold this amount of BTC. Probably in 1-2 years it will be 1-2 k $ and you can spend it for something

So long story short, a friend owed me for a favor and since I did not have bitcoin before he asked If I would take it in BTC. I didn't mind since I can cash out whenever.
My question is.. what do you think? Its a decent chunk of money for me to just hope something keeps rising, do you think I should "let it ride" or cash out and just be happy with ~$500?

I am interested to what happen to this guy, what happen to the bitcoin his talking about is this guy cashout his btc or he keeps it? i think this guy sell his bitcoin in the bloodbath about a month ago he is very interested to the value of his bitcoin i think he really do the panic buying.

Then wow,, just take care of it and let it grow there, but if you need it now then you can cash it out, its up to you whats your plan with that.

I advise you to leave this part of the bitcoins for the future. The amount is still not large, but if Bitcoin will cost several times more, then you can get more money.

I hope you didn't sell the coins you got, because if you want greater profits and don't need the money now then just hold them for a little bit longer. It may have decrease it's value now but when it reaches around 1-2 years it would be more than the amount your friend owe you.

It is better to hodl it especially when you don't really need it. It is possible to increase its value as we know so don't waste this chance in non sense things. As we engage here in cryptos, we should be more wise and knowledgeable in every transactions we are into. We should try to understand how does a certain coin runs and know the right time to sell or buy these stuffs to avoid big losses.

Yes those 0.3 can turn into 1 btc in a year itself considering the prices are quite stable and also not much high as well. So the upside is huge and with those if invested in other coins too can yield you some amazing profits and you can make a good profit for this year like all had made last year by investing in btc.

You are lucky to have 0.03 BTC. If you want, you can hold it and wait for the price of bitcoin to go up or you can invest it. For me, ICO is the best way if investing. I invest most of my money in ICO. It will depend on you pal.

Definitely that amount of bitcoin is too low for me to keep for long, I will advise you invest it in some promising ICO project, your $500 can easily shot to $2000 with this

I think you should keep it and do not sell it at this time. Bitcoin prices are rising slightly. But that is not the highest price to sell. If you keep it waiting for a period of time you may be more profitable

Although .03 Bitcoin is not a big amount even then you can hold it for a long time. Because Bitcoin is low now. And it's increasing. If you hold that coin for a  couple of months so you will able to make a profit on it. Otherwise, you can buy some altcoin to this coin. Altcoin price is so low also. You can also make the profit on it.

To tell you frankly, if ever a friend of my mine will give me worth of .03 BTC I will surely buy half of it on a cheap cryptocurrency who has the potential to grow in the market, buying cheap cryptocurrency that has the possibility to increase its market value is a very wise idea in which many smart investors are also doing... so that's what I will do also! and the other half  will also be invested into a food cart business.

I was looking for bounties and came across 20000 MTC Marinecoin .There wabebsitesays  Marinecoin MTC  The first Dev-less  self-sustaining  Crypto-Currenncy  Artificial Intelligence Machine to Machine payment network .So i looked into it. They are rewarding 20000 MTC Marinecoin ICO for simply following all the designated steps to receive ICO. Artifical intelligence is called Javis which analysis all of the ico applicant to prove proof of promotion to make sure aapplicants are real. Marinecoin is Dev-less which takes away the need for miners as the web site says they are self-sustaining which leaves the community in control. Marinecoin is eco friendly as it takes the environment into consideration. Marinecoin Also has its own exchange  which is safe and secure and also open to the public. So join the Marinecoin community

Be careful how u ask for advise, l think you should ask your friend that gave you the bitcoin to advise you on what to do with it.

This post is made back December 13, 2017 then I guess my comments and suggestion is already useless since you may already have cashed out your bitcoin or you hold your bitcoin and have lost profit. But anyway its good if you have sold your bitcoin earlier then you can use your money to buy bitcoins at its lowest value today. But if you have not and keep holding to your bitcoin then continue holding on until the end of the year so you can get profit.

Looking at the fall in the price of bitcoin for some weeks now, it will not be advisable to sell at this time because the time for rise in the price is very near now.

I think it is more advisable to add more amount into it if possible. Because I think the profit will not be that much on a small amount of investment. The bigger your inestment, the bigger the profit. It just simply explain it. Avoid selling it especially at times like this whereas the market price is continuously falling. Invest, hold, and be patient.

You were one lucky newbie to start with 0.03 BTC in your hand don't you think? Are you in dreadful need of fiat now? If not, why not hold on to it for a bit longer. You can get more than $500 in the long run.
