Gox has caused a real storm today. Lots of people selling, too few buyers, except middlecoin which was carrying a large unexchanged balance. The mayhem that occurred probably enabled the middlecoin trades to make a few extra bitcoins per transaction.

Gox only have a few months left to live now. That statement post they put out today was a nail in the coffin as it turned out to be a false statement, probably aimed at reducing the price and getting them out of a cashflow hole.

Good bye and good night Gox.

Curious, how many MH do you guys have?  And by "you guys" I mean the ones that are checking 4-5 times a day at what the projected payouts are going to be...

20 mh/s, at the moment.

Need to know I can pay the electricity bill on the marijuana farm.

It works really well. Hashing away on the R9 290s to create a nice climate for the real hash farm, plus some immediate cashflow to pay for power bills on the lighting and the R9s.

The real payday comes when the plants are ready for harvesting.

Man, that is exactly what I want to do, but I can't convince my grower friend (or my wife) to move to Colorado to do that.

I only have 2MH/s right now.  Thinking about making another rig, but also just thinking about buying some Bitcoin right now instead.  Probably will end up doing a little bit of both.

I'm supposed to be getting aluminum in today so I can start working on manufacturing some open-air cases to sell.  If that takes off then I will probably put everything else on the backburner for a while.

Not you, the dumbass that you quoted. Magiconline

If he imported coins that where not included in the stats... those coins where temporary hidden from us.
I did not say he was stealing or anything negative.. so don't reflect your own intelligence towards others if you don't understand them.

no, you're a dumbass because you fail to realize that that tweet was from TWO DAYS AGO!. but not only that, the trades he imported were for coins sitting in the unexchanged balance. you know, notice how when that trade happened, the exchanged went up and the unexchanged went down? hmmm wonder why??

nothing has ever been hidden in the form of balances. unexchanged numbers are estimates anyway, it wont always be a 1:1 ratio at time of exchange, because the value can fluctuate from when the value was estimated.

All kidding aside, how can we help the deceiving MtGox meet it's maker sooner? I seriously detest what they have done to the market (which I strongly believe was intentional) and would be happy knowing I contributed (with anything less of any criminal activity) to its demise.

Well on their way... many news orgs and CryptoExchange Indexers have already removed Mt. Gox from their listings.

The best thing you could do would be to msg/tweet/email the remaining organizations that use Mt. Gox's #'s to remove them as a data source.

Semi-Full Disclosure: I work for a major global financial news org and am already working with the Market Data folk to source different entities for Bitcoin/USD pricing (Coinbase, Bitstamp, BTC-E and others rather than Mt. Gox).  So already doing my part Wink

no idea. everyone talks about block halving = spike in value, but im skeptical. but from a mining perspective, say *hypothetically* that once the block reward halves, the value doubles. profitability would be unchanged. but realistically, i see value changing very little (at least at first) meaning it will drop in profitability by about half. and if the profitability algorithm is up to snuff, it should pick whatever is most profitable, and not pick DOGE anymore. but since no one really knows what coin we are mining (without diff/speed comparisons), and no one really knows the specifics of H2O's code, its anyone's guess.

we're approaching .012/MH today. pretty decent.

My thoughts as well.  I can't really conceive of the rationale behind it doubling in value overnight.  That'd be like doing a 2-1 inverse stock split, and it's not like half of all Doge mined is disappearing...  As you say, more than likely it'll just plummet in mining profitability, and the value will stay level or possibly go up slightly simply from confidence that value will not continue to dilute.

I do believe it'll have an impact on middlecoin though.  Just watching the miner for 10 minutes shows you that Doge is one of the most heavily mined coins, maybe as high as 50% of the total portfolio or more.  If that simply goes away.  Well, who knows.

That will be the true test of H2O's (assumed/perceived) abilities. Many people refer to his back alley dealings for out-of-exchange conversion of coins mined. If that is true, than one would hope he identifies another coin to push.
