Guys - due to some delays, we've had to delay our Thunderclap one more time until Monday. I hope everyone understands!

It's alright mate, it's for the better

Well then, if X11 is not fast on GPU, we wont see it too. But in my experience, the GPU one is VERY fast; X11 is just too slow on CPU when compared to Quark.
With Quark buying a GPU is kind of pointless. You can buy 2 i7s, overclock them (it has unlocked multiplyer) and get 2MH/s; then we have the cloud.
As of ASIC, my logic is that making 11 hashing functions will be very difficulty when implemented in hardware; Quarks's algo maybe harder but X11 is hard enough to not see an ASIC for a long long time.
Maybe scrypt-n, but I'm pretty sure making an ASIC is easier cause we just need to modify the scrypt ASIC.
Yet it is more expensive cause of the vram chips used. SHA3 or SHA2 asics are a piece of cake, what drives the cost up is vram. Scrypt n or chacha would only need an asic capable of adjusting lookup gap values and equipped with more than enough ram for at least two n factor changes. Those ASICs can always have modular ram.

Both Quark and X11 are 'hard enough' that you will not see asics for either for some time unless there is a massive incentive to do so (ie quark/dark goes up 1000x in value). But when they do it will be easier to make one for X11 than Quark algo. Have you tried mining Quark type algos with a GPU miner?? I think you haven't. It is VERY fast AND older hardware kicks butt. I get up to 2.7Mhash/s with a single Radeon 6970 and it is so energy efficient that that card only pulls 100watts when mining quark algo (compared to ~300 for scrypt) and runs cool as a cucumber (quark 55-60oC...scrypt 85oC). A Radeon 6970 is a hell of a lot cheaper than 2x i7 (+2x motherboard etc etc). Also for other hardware info I get ~2.3Mhash/s from an 5850 and 2.1 from a 5830. The kicker is I only get 1.7Mhash/s from a 7970... [these values are from Smelter] X11 algo is overhyped. Quark algo is underhyped. Quark algo kicks ass. The card is expensive ( 2x i7 4770), however it takes only 100W? <-------- Now that's valuable. But then 2 MH/s vs 2.7 is not that much. You talking about used cards? You can buy server boards with 4 LGA1150 sockets. There're a lot of secrets when it comes to mining quarks with the GPU. You wont believe the kind of value I get on my lower end card. I was lucky.

And I've not explored Xeons yet. Those are much more efficient and I suspect have more value.

Do you think QRK will skyrocket again? I mean, it only goes down, and down, and down. My impression is that this coin is dying. And it's sad, because I was almost all in with QRK. From my 6 BTC right now I only can recover about 2.

From my 6 BTC right now I only can recover about 2. QRK was for me #3 after Bitcoin and Litecoin, unfortunately, people doesn't seem to care much about innoative new coins, most of them just want "new" coins or "fun" coins like Doge.. Look @ Memorycoin.. Almost same story, even though its a highly innoative coin.. I also see it on my pool https://qrk.suprnova.cc .. miners are getting less and less.. unfortunately

From my 6 BTC right now I only can recover about 2. Once ASICs arrive en masse to mine scrypt coins there is inevitably going to be a seismic shift of GPU miners looking to mine other coins. I think QRK is likely be a major beneficiary of this shift.
