Your experience is very helpful to me,My experience is almost like yours. Many times I have not been patient enough to regret it after selling my coins because I have not done any research. Cry

It doesn't work everything but HODL but generally it reduces risks for scenario like you faced, i personally miss TONS of pumps, sell coins while they now stabilise at x5 - x10 (exclude NEO which is out of the charts xD). ONLY HODL coins that you believed and seriously make some good research and track your coins even-though they moved pretty violent these days. 100 % HODL doesn't work well for me, my current strategy on alts is based on my speculation as well entry,

For instance:

1. Fresh new coins that holds serious potential like COSS, SPECTRE, KNC, REQ i would go for a long HODL + dips until it make way to the top.

2. Existing coins that move but doesn't perform well like OK, LBR, i would go for basic entry low and sell high, always have stop loss implemented.

3. BIG coins like ETH i would be personally go for arbitrage for that differences of USDT.

NO REGRETS ON YOUR DECISION, IT'S A PART OF LEARNING!

sometimes you have to have some balls to sell your coins when they spike to buy back in

Personally, i invested in all 3 COSS, KNC and Request. I believe all of these coins

Its up to people to actually invest in coins that they think is worth to invest Smiley

Well we all have these experiences that somehow will teach us that it is better to wait. As the old saying goes, patience is a virtue. I don't have that much to juggle between coins so sometimes i really get tempted to sell when i am eyeing on a coin with a better potential than what i hold. There may be times in which we are tempted to sell, but just remember, never sell when your losing. I heard that from a long term trader and i applied that in my investments.

Yes, patience is a virtue. A friend around me continues to hold it if everyone is not optimistic about the coins he holds, and his coin prices are now back up, although patience it's a virtue, but it's rare to stick to it.

I'm really disappointed with myself now because of Verge. Way back June 2017, I bought $200 worth of XVG and I sold it last week a day before the pump happened. It could be worth more than $5k now if I just HODL. Cry Well, I need to move on and learn from this mistakes. This will be a lesson for me to have patience and wait for the right time to sell my coins. The reason why I sold it was because I need more funds to buy another coin. I'm happy with the coin I bought because I can now see that it is now starting to pump. Maybe, I'm just half disappointed every time I'm seeing the current value of Verge. I bought some XVG again and will surely hold it this time. Smiley I hope that this experience of mine can be a good example for everyone especially the newbies in this community.

I totally agree!! Anyone selling in at this time will be kicking themselves in a few months. This is a natural and predicted downturn in the market; from which we will see greater returns than 12/2017 if we hold until crypto winter is over. I can emphasize this point enough. Stay strong and hold.

Yes this is very true. If you want to have more profit someday you just have to wait and hold all of your tokens, and by that you will have a fruitful future. And for me i will never regret anything because i will definitelt hold my tokens until the prices will go up in soontime.

Its better to HODL a token until the value of it is increasing than to regret that when you sell it in a low price or value, all we need to do is to wait be patient all the time.

This is the best advice, and I hope the author of this thread has read it already. Verge is going to get up again and the process has already started. Do not regret, hodl (keep it for long and do not sell), and finally you’ll be in plus.

You better forget the problem. Although forgetting is difficult, but by looking forward all will look bright. And be grateful for what is right now

This is a really good experience. Significant. Need to understand when you're get out of coins. I think the best option is to buy for the long term. Bought and forgotten. I do it. Thank You!
Did you prepare the target to sell your coin?
Buy and forget that amount means you are putting your money to outside and do not care someone help you use that amount.
You are the rich and waste money if do that Cheesy.

Why? I buy and wait for the coin will make 20-30 x's. After that i sell. Some lie long enough before it happens. But that's okay. That's my strategy.

Oh, if you want to get x20 - x30 from altcoin, ok, you're fine but only for now Grin. Nothing guaranteed. You don't know the risk and the future of altcoin unless some top coins got accepted on worldwide. Example, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ripple ... but a ROI high like you said is impossible.

Just Nao Tomori and Bitcoin ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

There are times when we look at the moon coins and then regret that if we just keep the coins, do not think too much about the price to get the pump because there are still many opportunities. Let's just say you get from that trade and move on.

To hodl is much worthy than trading in a sure small amount of earnings. I'll rather go at risk to hodl even it cause years of waiting as long as earnings folds at ten times on it's capital. Much greater of regrets than lossing of earnings if time comes goes in that way. +1 against plus +10 but?. Then i'll go at risk i will hodl.

These two terms are totally distinct with each other so they don't go together. But sometimes, HODLing can be accompanied by REGRET too. This two terms will go together if you are HODLing because a certain crypto has its market price fall down and you didn't even bother to buy more at a lower price only to realize that it started to rise drastically the next day, and so you REGRET.

I have been regretting a lot since I bought bitcoin back in late 2013.
I would have earned much more if I just hold some of the coins I used to have. For example NEM, XMR.

Keep holding bitcoin because the price will go up again and that is almost guaranteed because we can see from the past history prices that the bitcoin market is going down but after a few months, it is going up again for new all time highs and the only difference from the price right now is only a few and we just need to have a lot of patience.
