Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

Haha, forgive me for laughing. I remember last year when I entered the market of crypto money, someone said that, but ETH still can't be more than BTC.

Ethereum is one of the coins I trust most. I think it will reach very high values in the long term. Despite this, I don't think there will be a number one to next year. I don't believe it will pass Bitcoin.

i dont think so ethereum will take over in 2018. although ETH is very good but not good enough to replace Bitcoin. maybe it will happen in the future if ETH gain the confidence of the people and limit the number of coins in circulation in the market.

well this scenario for me personally is a bit unlinkely, given the fact that bitcoin has been established far longer, additionally its popularity is also second to none in the cryptocurrency world. But, let's assume that somehow someday ETH overtakes btc as the number one coin, I would certainly be more than happy since ETH is considerably easier to obtain at least for now.

We can never can tell, maybe its possible that ethereum may overtake btc but not now nor next year, despite of being the second in cryptocurrency world,still, Bitcoin already established and proved that they are the number 1 cryptocurrency so its still hard to replace its rank.

You might be right, from the looking at things like Ethereum  as a smart contract which must of the ICOs uses. Ethereum has the ability to overtake bitcoin in the nearest future. for no doubt ethereum might overtake bitcoin with it's potential in the cryptocurrency world. But the problem is that bitcoin have gained more popularity in terms of cryptocurrency concern.

most of the users are saying this that ETH will overtake the bitcoin if we look at the demand for these bitcoin is more demanded than ETH and the prices are also rising for both of them. nothing impossible, but in my opinion ether price will not overtake bitcoin
eth will always below bitcoin, maybe the best price of eth with btc pairs will be at 0.25 - 0.3 BTC per one eth, and this can be happend in the couple years

   I doubt that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin, but who am I to know
will it happen or not. In this moment now it would be better for me
that to happen, I have one whole Ethereum and much less then one
whole Bitcoin.
   In many comment all over the forum any one can see that Ethereum
and Bitcoin are two different things. They can not overtake each
other, but price is different thing, maybe one day in future Ethereum

I think ethereum will never overtake Bitcoin because they are very different. (yes fundementally they are cryptocurrencies)
Bitcoin's price is much higher than ethereum but ethereum's stability, smart contract ability is the main difference from Bitcoin.
For me Bitcoin is like gold, an indicator for the other currencies. On the other hand ethereum is like Us Dollar, Euro or else..

Ethereum is a very promising coin, and it will definitely increase in price. However, next year she has no chance to overtake the bitcoin in the price. I do not see the possibility of this in the near future at all. Something must happen that will happen.

I would not bet on that. However, if the bitcoin scaling issue is not solved, it would be a tough one for bitcoin as next year may be the time of the year for alts to start showcasing their powers and their usefulness when it comes to transactions and so far, bitcoin has not been able to give that.

Ethereum is a great alt coin maybe even the best alt coin but it will never overtake bitcoin under any circumstances. Bitcoin is too powerful to be taken down. This crash was expected because it overgrew in the last couple of months. I would advise you to buy bitcoin while it is cheap.
