Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

Thats just a question of time when this will happen. Ethereum has so much more potential. Its a plattform where you can programm everything, while bitcoin is just a cryptocurrencies.

In the future, I do not know anything but now and in the next few years I think that no altcoin can overcome the bitcoin whether it is Ethereum given the leadership and support of Vitalik genius. Bitcoin is recovering its first dump in the market after a few days of decline, bitcoin is back and the market has caught up with this new trend. I believe that bitcoin will achieve new successes in 2018.

I'm not saying that it is impossible, but what I think is that it will not happen soon. Bitcoin is still the leading cryptocurrency and is still increasing its value very rapidly hence I think that it will remain on top for quite some time. how did you say that? im not against etherium overtaking bitcoin but there are certain factors that will determine it and if you based it on the recent event about the decrease of the market cap of bitcoin, well, votality is part of its nature.

BTC is too volatile, ETH is a much more stable and accomplishes that Alma mater Coin. Anyway, I know a lot of people who moved their found from BTC to ETH long time ago(when ETH was around $300 ) as I do. So, for me, ETH overtakes BTC last year. And look at last dip of crypto market, BTC lost 50%, ETH around 20%, numbers tell you the truth.

It can happen anytime because we wont know everything can happen . Base on the eth graph it has a good future in crypto while the btc is cotinuing to decrease but i think the price of btc will be increasing again when the investor is coming back again. But for now if i need to choose of btc and ethereum i will choose btc of course.. Thank you

It won't happen in the near future. Definitely not this year, but in several years I believe more in ETH because most ICOs are planned as ETH token and future is in qualite tokens.

It's impossible to make it happen because I as a bitcoiner I personally prefer for bitcoin because of their prices. I think when the price of bitcoin was increase the ethereum price increase. From now the price of bitcoin decrease and many of bitcoiners is declare to hold it and wait until the price get higher to earn more profits. Right now, many people get crazy to the downfall of bitcoin price and I wish that price of bitcoin get increase again.

My opinion is that Ether will never be valued as high as Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was developed as a store of value. It is meant first and foremost to be used as a currency, and that is what it is good at.
Ethereum was developed as a platform for “smart contracts”. The currency, Ether, exists as a way to make transactions on the Ethereum blockchain, but the blockchain’s focus is on being a place for dapps to exist.

There are absolutely 0 chances for ETH to take over BTC. After all these ICO's cooldown the marketcap of Ethereum will drop down dramatically. It's not even the best platform for tokens anymore, the blockchain constantly gets clogged. There are far better platforms for tokens nowadays and people will figure that out soon. Go do some research before talking about things that you have no clue about.

Zero chances? Not true I think. Just remember 80% of the entire Bitcoin supply has already been mined and what left to be mined is only 20% or 4.2 million Bitcoins until the 21 million cap is reached. There are speculations that Ethereum will reach the $5000 or $10000 mark this 2018, well, if that happens there are lots in this forum who will become Ethereum millionaires, that is if they hodl their earnings on bounties.

It's a good question. With the ICO hype, Ether is starting to have real value and real businesses to support the currency economy therefore for the long run I vote for Ether
