Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin

Ethereum can not pass Bitcoin because Bitcoin is the king of crypto and is considered one of the most valuable assets in the planet. I think if ETH can beat Bitcoin then this is really a revolution in the cryptocurrency market and big investors will be surprised.

Eth does still have a lot of room to grow, but I just don't think it will be as valuable as Bitcoin since it's just not as widely used and especially since we will see the lightning network implemented soon.

I don't think so for Etherium to pass Bitcoin in as number 1 in coinmarketcap. Erherium may have a future but not to take over bitcoin. Bitcoin will always stay at his throne. He is the king of crypto death is the only way for Bitcoin to give his crown away. Will bitcoin die? No, not this year, not in the coming years.

I do not think the broadcast will beat bitcoin. too much gap, the difference in time of appearance. bitcoin does not stop its growth (in general). too difficult task in my opinion.

I don't think so that the ethereum will overtake bitcoin because if you compare there value bitcoin is much higher in value and also most popular cryptocurrency. But even that etherum has potential to be a best altcoin, then possible to rise its value this coming week and upcoming weeks

I dont think so that ethereum will overtake bitcoin because bitcoin is still the original of all coins but we can't take the fact that ethereum is also making his own way of becoming popular.

Yeah, probably not this time. Although ETH is more useful right now. Bitcoin is still considered as the Top currency to have. And it will never be replaced as new investors come in they always look for bitcoin.

I am a believer in ETH and I think that it will increase to the same level as bitcoin, just not anytime soon. People have to remember that bitcoin has been around for a lot longer and is the flagship of the crypto world.

for the price is possible. but I do not think about "level", bitcoin now has a level that is too high and even no one can match it. bitcoin already has a strong position

From my own perspective, ethereum is willing determine to overtake bitcoin ‘arguably’. Taking a close look at the blockchain technology on which bitcoin is built on ‘store of value’ and for it to remain as that, basically a store of value that appreciate over time. Then that of ethereum blockchain is primarily built on a ‘smart contract’ that is a place for dapps to exist and also a store of value. In summary the bitcoin blockchain is a platform created for itself only while that of ethereum is for its self and others. In a society like ours ideas are been adopted massively most especially if it possess inclusive features.

No,BTC have limited supply(21 million ever).. but Eth have unlimited supply.. yes Ethereum is a great project but it will never surpass the BTC.

ETH has a strong 2nd place in terms of market cap and keeps growing in value. If 2018 proves to be a crazy year like 2017 was, who knows what might happen?

I don't believe any coin/token can overcome BTC neither in marketcap nor in value in the present year but ETH is surely closing the gap...

Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and people started using it before other coins came in, Bitcoin value is higher and Trending than others, so i dont see Ethereum overtake bitcoin at all.

Even tho it's true that bitcoin is the OG of all coins and that it came 6 years before Ethereum (bitcoin came in 2009 whereas Eth came in 2015 ) but isn't the reason that Ethereum can't overtake Bitcoin even tho Eth is better in so many ways and has a much greater smart contracts than bitcoin .
It is more of  a technical parameter that makes this case quite hard to be realized mainly because of the infinite supply of Ethereum and not setting up a limit to how much coins will be mined which make Eth's market cap being continuously dispersed over more coins whereas bitcoin's market cap is equitably dispersed on a finite number of coins , in other words bitcoin's scaling is much bigger than Eth's because you'll always be dividing Bitcoin's market cap on 21M at top , whereas you'll be dividing Eth's on N where N tends to +oo making it hard for the value of Eth per coin to catch up with bitcoin's .

The ethereum has only one chance to outrun bitcoin in price. This is when bitcoin for a long time will not eliminate its shortcomings and almost depreciate, as demand for it will drop sharply. In other cases, ethereum still has no way of overtaking bitcoin in cost.
