In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.

I don't think that's a possiblity. True bitcoins has its downside, considering the high transaction fees and the slow confirmation of transactions. It will really affect how people look at bitcoin thus finding altcoins to invest into. But that won't be enough to put bitcoin down. Eth on the other hand is a stable coin. It is mostly used in icos and that would mean good business for eth platform but still eth has a long way to go to overtake bitcoin.

Its quite impossible for ETH to overtake BTC. Currently ETH is good for profit, but for the long run you must consider BTC

I do not think Ethereum will beat bitcoin, since the BTC has taken a pretty strong position this year and it seems to me in all others. Therefore, I would not withdraw my bitcoin, but would just deposit

I don't think so. Can't you see the gap between the two crypto. It's way too big for ethereum to catch up and if your saying that btc will go down to the bottom then if that happens ethereum will go down to as they co-exist.

Bitcoin has slowly been losing total market share , its around 40 % now.  Then you look at all the other crypto tokens that are based on ethereum.  Its just my opinion.

Future is an unpredictable, as of now, I can only say that Ethereum has potential to as good as Bitcoin. It has the capability of becoming number one just like Bitcoin. Its value can increase to the point that it will overtake the value of Bitcoin but it will never be easy. Time is needed.

Even at a first look Ethereum in some times less than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is brand now. For many people their way into the world of cryptocurrencies had begun from the buying BTC coins. It is almost impossible to overcome Bitcoin.

What makes you think that ethereum will take over bitcoin ? Or what makes you think that ethereum has what it need to replace the king of crytptos ? I think you're just a big fan of eth , dreaming of the day when eth becomes the king . Let me remind you that ethereum is the queen for the king , nothing  more.

I like that you comment and are absolute about your comment  Wink  It can happen but i dont think it will have too soon. Ethereum is strong but not that strong to overtake Bitcoin.

That is very unlikely. But it is also very likely that bitcoin is trading too slowly and too expensive. ETH is extremely fast and the transaction costs are very cheap. ETH in 2018 will grow strongly but still can not overcome Bitcoin. I think ETH will be in the top 1 in 2020

Ethereum won't overtake bitcoin, but it might double the market volume into circulation when the price reaches the predicted amount. At present, this has been circulated as the leader for the entire altcoins. Next to that ripple has been increasing regularly, so it will be in an urge for growth.

I don think Eth will overtake bitcoin, i believe that bitcoin will always number 1. If you say the is queen and bitcoin is King then i will agree with you. For business i think eth are good , because eth do a lot of ico. For investment and keep for long term i think bitcoin are the 1 i will chose it. No 1 can overtake Bitcoin. Grin

If bitcoin has not eliminated its shortcomings for a long time, it is quite possible that in the long term, and not next year, Ethereum could well become a contender for the place of the leader of the crypto currency. However, soon a network of lightning will be introduced into bitcoin, which is designed to eliminate the existing shortcomings of bitcoin, namely, its slowness and high transaction costs. If this happens, and bitcoin will lose its current shortcomings, for which it is now heavily criticized, then Ethereum will not have a chance to bypass bitcoin.

the way on how does it able to have atleast some chances to take over is based on how does it perform in market we can say that bitcoin will always the leading coin cause there is always a possibility of changes and we see that ethereum is a good choice of some holders and investors.

Most likely, the ethereum can not become a full-fledged replacement for bitcoin. He really has an advantage over bitcoin, there are functions. But there is no limit to the number. In addition, the blockchain itself is imperfect.

Ethereum itself has a BIG problem of scalability. They are a brilliant team but some problems can not be solved in principal. So I would not  consider ETH as a Bitcoin successor. IMHO
