The Etherium DAG is at 4.15GB right now, so any video card with 4GB will not do well when it comes to mining Etherium.   The card itself might be able to borrow from main system memory to work, but performance will be severely degraded.

Other types of mining can be done on 4GB, but Etherium will be problematic.

thanks for replay mate, so which one do u suggest for me? also im just a beginner and wanted to test with my current car and have plan to buy RTX 3070.
Also can u tell me how can I dedicate system memory to this mining proccess for better result?

Lolminer does it automatically but the trick is the 4gb card must be in the long x16 primary slot and must have x16 pcie lanes to fully utilize.

whattomine.com can answer the question it is named for and you ask.

Also try to keep your reply out side the [ / quote ] so it can be seen as your reply.... and not part of the original quote Wink

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Does anyone happen to know what the newest Nvidia driver is that PhoenixMiner works on correctly?
The newst version of the miner (I asume older versions have the same problem) doesn't work with the newest Nvidia driver, I only get rejected shares.

I'm at 460.89, although I think Phoenix Miner does work with the latest NVIDIA drivers.  Getting only rejected shares might not be a driver problem.  Check your bat file or config.txt to make certain you aren't trying to mine ETC on an ETH mining pool.

Your maximum Amperage is completely wrong.  Here is a complete listing of what connected can handle max.  Note that in your example you are saying 264watts to molex....when in fact it is no where near that...see guide here...stay safe and dont melt or burn stuff....

https://www.gpuminingresources.com/p/psu-cables.html

I was searching for something like that, but could not find it. (so thank you for the link) I knew it was something aroud 150W... the thing is the 22Amps for the molex is, as I read an explanaition 11 amps per power cable so 11Amps for the 12V and also 11Amps for the 3.3V.. I also read that you can not add them.. so that makes up for the Watt and Amps...

I came along another "challenge"..... After I saw a high number of rejected shares for only 1 card I altered (lowered) the VMR and wanted to restart the Phoenixminer, but when I did this it "noticed" a third (ghost) card (RX5700XT while we only have 2 actual RX5700XT in the rig) on position 2 in the list of cards and the number of usuable mining cards was also added with 1. ..... It does not show in the windows devicemanager list..

Any ideas what could have caused this?

Any thoughts about this? what could cause this?  Thank you.

I looked at analytics from IT bloggers on this technology for games, and they have different results in tests - much worse than Nvidia claims.

I have problem using phoenix with RX 570 8G

i attached only 1 RX 570 but phoenix detect 2 VGA

GPU1: Radeon RX 570 Series (pcie 1), OpenCL 2.0, 8 GB VRAM, 32 CUs
GPU2: Radeon RX 570 Series (pcie 1), OpenCL 2.0, 8 GB VRAM, 32 CUs

i try using 5.5c dan 5.4c and the result same. Anyone can help?

Your onboard graphics or remote desktop session is detected as a second RX570. I think this problem was introduced in a Windows update and I don't know how to fix it properly, it can probably be fixed in the mining software. But you can work around it by not using the onbard graphics (connect monitor to RX570) or by letting Phoenix start at bootup automatically with no monitors attached.

Anyone able to get Phoenix Miner to report GPU temperature and wattage for a RTX 3090? I can get fan speed but not the other two. I need this so I can keep track of temperatures easily for another computer on my network that I don't use day to day. I can keep track of another 3090 in my main computer via Afterburner which has temperature and fan speed minimized to my taskbar. But that won't work for the remote 3090. I guess I could use HWINFO but would prefer native reporting via Phoenix Miner so I can monitor it with Claymore's Manager. Phoenix should come out with their own miner manager. Claymore's is great. I can see the vitals for all my GPU's easily in one screen.

hi guys i just have a question regarding the epoch dag size creation and storage.

so the latest amd graphic cards have the infinity cache wich provides like 1,5 terabytes of cache speed ( 128mb infinity cache as example)

would it make any sense to split the dag epoch in under 128mb sized chuncks on the vram to make benefit of this infinity cache?

i dont understand any python scripting and honestly not much about this bus width limiting or how data is stored in the vram.

I just wonder about this , probably a stupid question but maybe som1 can try to answer if there is any way to make use of the amd infinity cache in order to get more hashrate.

here is some info on how etherium parameters was chosen for example 16 MB Cache

https://eth.wiki/concepts/ethash/design-rationale

thanks and gl

hey, mining rig has crashed twice over the last 2 days and somehow uninstalled the amd driver with it....never had this happen before...using windows 10 64 bit, amd 12.20.1 driver, with 5.5c, running 3 580s and a 6800xt

Unplug the 6800xt and run with just the the 580, I will bet it will be stable again. I am fighting this same demon with a 5600xt in my 570/580 rig. Still looking for a solution.

How are you viewing this?  Win or Linux?  On actual display from rig or via SSH?
Give us more info...ive had this problem with some terminal programs via SSH but resolved by changing either settings on terminal or by switching (if it was windows).

Guys getting mostly invalid shares here is a tip.  Your dag file must be created with the stock clock on your cards. I found some advice on another forum that deals with the issue. In MSI afterburner you can modify a config file with a startup delay. Set it for 2 minutes and once your miner is done building your dag file it will crank up. This will happen again as the dag file is being redone every 5 days. When your shares start going invalid just reboot.  Not sure how to automate this yet.

The file is MSIAfterburner.cfg and the setting is Startup Delay=0 change this to 120000.

It can be tough to change the file because Windows doesn't want you to. My way is to copy the files to the desktop modify it and put it back. Windows will ask for permission to overwrite it.

I use HiveOS for mining.
I´m viewing this from Hive Shell. In the rig´s display the colors work fine.

Ok I'm lost and very new to mining.  I downloaded the latest version of PhoenixMiner followed the readme.txt and I keep getting an error that restarts the miner.

This is a driver error, either reinstall your AMD drivers (not the current beta version as it will cause this exact error), or you can use ANY version of the AMD driver and use the -clkernel 0 command to use the generic open cl version.  This will work with any AMD driver, including the latest version if you want them for gaming, but the generic open cl kernel will have lower hash and more stale/incorrect shares.

Got a good deal on a 1080 Ti Founders Edition. When mining I sometimes can't get the DAG to go past 54% for some reason.

Sometimes restarting the miner works but often I would have to restart the computer just to get the miner to build the DAG and finally get mining.

These are the flags I use:

-nvKernel 3 -nvdo 1 -straps 2 -cclock +320 -mclock -50 -powlim -25 -fanmin 65 -tt 68 -hstats 2 -lidag 1

Is there anything I'm missing here?

EDIT: figured it out, -cclock shouldn't go past 290

not sure it is just me, but my rig always goes offline at about same time every single day for few minutes, while it still remains hashing. are they changing address to get some profit? anyone?

Compare to Claymore Dual miner,  how many percent can be increased at hashrate?
