I think the only point of mentioning a new batch is to let Barntech and crew that we like what they came up with and when they are ready we will buy more.
It's all good, I don't mean to tell anyone what to say/not say. Related to Batch 3, there was a form a few pages back, with which one could send specific expressions of interest directly to them.

Yeah, I assumed that they were putting all their efforts into repairing the issues at hand. I also thought it'd still be nice to remind them people still want their gear, including new gear in the future

It will indeed be nice if a solution is found to enable the repair of all the current boards. Which may then subsequently enable the possibility of further batches. As someone with dozens of useless Bitfury ASICs on batch 1 boards sitting next to me for a week or so now, completely unused - few will be more pleased than I if/when that can eventuate, believe me on that. :p

Some tips for those sending your boards in:- You are dealing with electronics, try to avoid static electricity and packing materials that could cause it.
- Please do not package your boards to survival a nuclear war. Seriously, I know courier services can rage hell on items shipped, but taping the tape to the tape which is wrapped around more tape is completely unnecessary and could do more harm than good.
- With the thought of the above statement in mind, this also do not mean, throw it in a box with no packaging at all.
- Last but not least, most of you (thus far) did a good job at putting which boards had which problems (etc), while some of you didn't put anything. Please be sure to put information with the boards.
All of the above will help things go smoother, as then the people completing said repairs won't have to take huge amounts of time to unbox, unpack, etc and can spend more time repairing.

I hope all of you from UK/EU do follow this as well. UK/EU will be handle by me. Please access: http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?topic=213.0

Will be handling Drillbit System UK/EU replacement components soon (waiting to confirm details, stay tunes) If I helped you and could pop me some treats for this Christmas, donate some BTC to: 1QEhKaUnFoEBaWmXsrE5AUvbAt95254DXr

Ryan, where are you located? I am in Florida USA If you're anywhere close to the Tampa area, you could probably make arrangements to drop them off with tk1337 who's doing the repairs. Otherwise, you have to email bobsag3 at mininghosting (at) gmail.com to get your label and give him your Info like your mailing address and username on the forums etc. he mentioned that a few pages back that we had to ask for the labels if we wanted them because some people were making other repair arrangements or were going to do it themselves.

IMO you're better off just reaching out to tk1337 and shipping yourself...it'll be quicker than trying to get a response...

Is there any kind of estimated turn around for the boards sent in for repair? I don't have a feel for how many there are or how long the repair takes.

Do they know what the fault is yet? Last I heard they replaced the inductor and it failed again. Then someone said the regulator chip isn't cooled properly.

You guys really should checkout the other forum. It's been great to keep up to date and have direct contact with the rest of the Drillbit team (not just Barn) especially when BitcoinTalk went down. As Barn mentioned here the other day, all the updates and ongoing discussion with the engineers and the repair guys is happening over there.
To summarize, they think they have a solution bypassing the issue using an added linear regulator and are doing extensive tests now. We're all just waiting to hear back from the AU team.

So it's still not sorted out. Oh well, hopefully it wont be too many more days.
