There are always refunds available because BFL has to play by Federal Trade Commission rules. Those rules say that they must refund your money up to the point at which they actually ship your merchandise. Even if you live outside the US, you can still file a complaint with the FTC.
Not only the FTC. http://da.jocogov.org/complaint-formsThe KS state attorney general reports that they have recovered $17m in "consumer restitution, fees and penalties" in 2011, and $43m in 2012. Maybe 2013 will be another banner year? Make no mistake, the AG posts those figures to make sure he/she gets another feather in their hat for the advancement of their career. Now that Bitcoin is in the news, and there's money to be had, this is a no-brainer for the AG of OZ, all thanks to the COO of BFL.

I've stated such, but here's the same by a more astute Bitcoiner: "BFL is full of... incongruence, you can't cancel your single "because they already have the material to create your single" but you can upgrate it to a totally different product, this guys are just playing with our money."

Appropriately named since it won't appear until spring at the earliest... The last generation of the summer enters into a nonreproductive phase known as diapause, which may last seven months or more. During diapause, monarch butterflies fly to one of many overwintering sites. The overwintering generation generally does not reproduce until it leaves the overwintering site sometime in February and March.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarch_butterfly

Lets all give up mining BTC then! This forum is going to be very boring. Ah. So you don't care about math or mining. No wonder you are seemingly very positive. Seriously, why are you here? Do you get some kind of perverse pleasure from pooping in the punchbowl? You offer nothing but endless amounts of negativity. Maybe I'm a masochist but I've had you on "ignore" several times but have felt compelled to see if you are offering anything else to the community but FUD. Back to ignore... after I read your next few agonizing posts. PL gets ignored--again--by a user that adds an extra space after each period and uses those three dot thingies (...). I'm beginning to believe Josh is Sybil.

" Monarch butterflies are poisonous or distasteful to birds and mammals because of the presence of the cardiac glycosides contained in milkweed eaten by the larvae."

The arms race continues... All these hashes do nothing to "secure the network", only cause all the miners to spend dollars competing over a rapidly diminishing pie.... CPU-only coin, anybody?

My mining setup is humming along quite nicely, mining much more than 0.05 btc/day, thank you very much. friedcat has been a pleasure to deal with thus far, as have others that I have given my business to. The hash rate can't possibly increase by 50% per month forever. it would require exponential growth in the hash rate.
100th with 50% increase each retarget 150th added 50th 225th added 75th 337th added 112th 506th added 169th 759th added 253th 1139th added 380th 1708th added 569th
how does no one realize this?
all the people posting calculators showing this hashrate increasing at 90% per month and extrapolating a constant increase are not taking this into account.
Thank you for saying this! No one seems to understand this concept at all. The difficulty has been rising like crazy with devices that do 5GH to 60GH and shipped in limited quantities (not counting the BFL mini-rigs until they can make enough of them to matter). Do you really think the hash rate will slow down after 3 new providers enter the market with devices that hash from 250GH to 500GH? If BFL can make a PCI card that does 600GH/s that means everyone else can make them too. What happens to your hash rate projections when the new entry level device does 600GH/s in the form of a video card? Eventually, the efficiency from silicon will plateau but we are not there yet. There is a huge amount of pent up demand in the market for mining gear. If you are committed to bitcoin, when your video card doesn't make enough, you sell it and buy an FPGA. You upgrade the FPGA to an ASIC, and when your ASIC doesn't mine enough you upgrade it again. If the market can actually keep up with demand, we will blow past 1700TH. Mining is a race to the bottom combined with printing money.

Good point. Furthermore, I'd say it's misleading to extrapolate percentages at all. What's really happening is the difficulty is tailing the huge power efficiency increase of the majority of the network, which it will keep doing until break even point is reached (in terms of running costs). There's a quantifiable limit that only a rise in btc/usd or further efficiency improvements can break through. These new Monarchs represent about an 8x efficiency increase if they make spec (this is large), so the main concern with ROI is simply how long you're using them before the majority of the network matches the efficiency figures. I do think ROI will take a long time, assuming difficulty has already reached 65nm asic efficiency levels before they ship.
