I made a SEPA transfer in from a UK account 5 days ago and still nothing. I emailed support and haven't received a response.

Kraken needs to up their game in this department if they seriously want to survive the rush to Bitcoin that is coming.

I deposited both LTC and BTC, sold them both and withdrew money in the form of Korean won, and all was completed in a timely matter.
Very happy with the operation of the exchange on the Korean won side.  Not sure about the other currencies or order books.
Peace.

Ouch Sad Another bad feedback. 5 days in this particular market is a very long waste of time and money.

What about Mt-gox ? The up to 20 days to validate the account has kind of dishearten me.

So in the end, what is the best place to buy BTC with a non-digital currency ?

Here are alot of horror stories about kraken support, well, let me tell you about my horror storie:

I'm moving soon, and to get everything updated in time, i thought i contact the support in advance before i move. Even with just tier 2 verification, i think address should match to not run into trouble later. Few hours ago i opened a support ticket about my future issue. Within minutes (yes, minutes, i was really shocked) support repsonded! You dont want hear the following details about this story.

End of story, by this chance, i also applied for tier 3 verification and hell, i'm already tier 3.

Conclusion: Very fast and helpful support, smooth exchange and all SEPA withdraws so far went very fast.

Had to be said! Happy people tend to not complain Smiley

Disclaimer: I'm not kraken affiliated, I'm just a customer.

To be fair to them, all of their FAQs say wait 4 days, (although in terms of a SEPA transfer with a BIC and an IBAN from UK to Germany it should be there almost instantly).

Noting the above it sounds like FIDOR bank or whatever it is called is a bit crap and small and their help desk is being overloaded because of it.

It is the hilarious "oh sorry it will take a few business days to get to you support request" in the auto response email that irked me. Basically if you have a backlog on your help desk, get everyone on the help desk until the backlog is cleared.

Anybody know what this input in the api is for: ofs = result offset ?
It's a parameter in the methods for closed orders and recent trades, but i don't really understand what it means.

It's for when you are implementing paging. Say that you have 10 results per page, clicking the 'next' button should trigger a request with a result offset of 10. Clicking it again should result in a result offset of 20, after that 30, etc...

Still don't really get it, there's no limit parameter, so how does that work? Say you request trades since between 12:00 and 13:00 with offset 0, and you get 100 trades. What would you get than if you do the same with offset 10? The last 90 trades between 12:00 and 13:00 plus the first 10 after that?

It's pretty simple: you can see 'offset x' as 'skip x'. So if you use 'offset 10' you'd get the same results as always, except for the first 10 results because they are skipped. But why don't you just test it with and without the offset and see what the result is?

I'm getting a "Service unavailable" notice when trying to withdraw. Anyone else having these issues? The notice popped up on the first page of the funding section too, where you normally get an overview of recent deposits/withdrawals.

I wouldn't normally post this here in a public forum, but I suspect that if I raise a support ticket, it won't be responded to within the next 24 hrs.
Kraken need to put up a service status announcement ASAP.

EDIT;

sent a support request regarding the matter -

I'm sure they'll sort it, damn frustrating tho... deposit times, i've noticed have gotten longer and longer over the past couple of weeks.
I put in some NMC last week, it took nearly 36 hours to land.

time for Kraken to have employ serious upgrades methinks.

I wish that "service unavailable" mention was on individual funding pages at least so we'd be much less inclined to use it Roll Eyes

Same problem here! (yet!!!!)  Huh

I hope they solve it soon. I don't think this is something to get alarmed (I've seen some red comment above mine...).

But, if some kraken staff is seing this: you have to improve very much your communication! This is serious, so you should have a big red alarm box in all your pages saying: what is happening, why, and estimated solving time!

Worse that malfunction is lack of information!

the "red comment" is perfectly adequate since it's not an idiotic 'scam!' barking, rather it tries to compensate the lack of information on the site as you noticed yourself.
(ok there's a tiny "service unavailable" on 2 pages but you can miss it, especially if you click on individual funding pages...)
