Actually at projected next difficulty rise 20% and BTC exchange rate at $400 this is going to happen within 2 weeks and according to point 11.5 of their terms they can just stop hashing and the game is over https://cex.io/terms

Its gonna happen in ~4 days. Current projections show next difficulty will be 35.8B. At that difficulty, and todays exchange rate, 1GH would mine $0.1607 per month. Cex.io maintenance fees are $0.18 per month. Game over.

BTW, if my math isnt wrong, theoretically 1 share ought to mine
0.00001686 BTC per day now
Subtract maintenance fees ($0.15/30 days/$381 per btc)
-0.00001572 BTC
= 0.00000113 BTC dividend per day.
Multiply by 4 remaining days and I get
0.00000453 BTC

That would be fair value.

Its trading 640x higher lol.

Well said. Unless there is a drastic drop in fees, fireworks start shortly.

I own 60 ghs at CEX.io, purchased @ .019 ghs/btc. It's been very profitable, especially if i was to sell those ghs right now at .044 ghs/btc.
I used to have a BFL 30 ghs miner, which i had directed to CEX.io a few months ago. The main reason I did this was to collect the merge mined IXcoin, Devcoin, and Namecoins, at 0% pool fee, a service not offered by BFL's pool, or Bitminter.

What are you smoking? Price was never 0.019 at cex.io, well not until today.
ANd who do you think you'd sell it for at .044?

I'm also assuming logictense is missing a zero in those prices, e.g. .0019 and .0044, otherwise that makes even less sense...or maybe he bought at .019 and meant he was to sell at .0044 (but it's never going back there) or .00044 ;-)

2.2 MHs is so low. Even with ~54 GHs I am getting a few uBTC. I think it will be better for you to buy some more, at least near to 1 GHs. Good luck! Smiley

We are also actively working on our cloud mining cost structures / services and will announce news in that direction in the coming days.

Let me  guess a higher maintenance fee.. Due to price drop of btc

Its gonna be tight. Due to the sudden rise of BTC exchange rate and plummeting of hashrate (or more likely: luck), its too close to call now. At current price and D estimate, 1GH would mine $0.1796 per month for $0.18 in fees. Could go either way, but whichever way it goes, the NAV of a 1GH share is so close to zero, it might as well be zero.

So I see they dropped the maintenance fee to $0.105/GH/month. So it rallies back to .0024, where it is only ~1000% overpriced.  Roll Eyes

That will keep the game going until about the end of the year...ish

CEX.IO Maintains its Leadership in Cloud Mining

Maintenance Fee Reduction With Immediate Effect.

From $0.18 per GHS per month to $0.105. Nearly 50% reduction.

New mining hardware supply contracts signed.

Quote from Jeffrey Smith CIO:

“We are now facing tough conditions when the increasing difficulty and the low Bitcoin price have made cloud mining less profitable. However, as initial ideologists of cloud mining and Bitcoin adherents, we believe mining is crucial for confirming transactions, and the Bitcoin exchange rate can rise at any moment. Meanwhile, we overtake all the expenses for lowering maintenance cost for the cloud-based GHS up to the moment the new hardware is shipped to the doors of our data centres.”

So.. to clarify something please.. Before as i read it, maintenance fee was .18 cent per gh/s per hour per 24hr*30 days is that correct?

If so that's was a lot of $$ or is it just as simple as .015 cent ~ (11 cents * per gh/s  * 30 days?)

Thanks

Icon

PS

The DVC balance on the ghash.io mining page is not showing the balance @ 0.00 but on the finance tab it has the correct amount.

It's just $0.105 per GHs per month. If you bought 10 GHs, your fee would be $1.05 per month (assessed in BTC of course)
