Rule #1

Only invest money you can afford to lose.

Rule #2

Never use money you could need for emergency cases for investing, especially invests with lock up periods.

I hope you will get out of that emergency as soon as possible.

That's very good advice. When there's a locking period it doesn't mean locked until I ask support to unlock it.

There is a lot of sites which we stake coins and nearly all of them has early unstaking options. We are human. We make sometimes wrong choices. So i tried to get help. Anyway after locked period i never use freebitco.in again. İ did wrong investment on wrong site.

The fact mine and Coin_collectors question has been ignored suggests these guys DONT have a contingency plan in place.

To anybody considering leaving large amounts of Bitcoin in freebitco.in i'd be very cautious. If something was to go wrong with the only 2 people who manage the site, you can pretty much say goodbye to your coins. I'll be withdrawing a large portion of my holding later on today, just not worth the risk.

I don't think you understand. I never said anybodys money is in danger, but people need to do their due dilligence, the fact remains that some people have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin on their site, and if the only 2 guys who manage the site got hit by a bus tomorrow, all that money is GONE.

Your issue is completely separate, you shouldn't have staked money that you needed access to, you're up shits creek on this one.

There are other platforms that won't touch users' funds if they are locked as well, even during emergencies.

Coin_collector made a good point. Always reserve some funds for emergencies and don't store them in external wallets or exchanges. Fiat may sound unattractive due to inflations at all but they are always mostly there whenever you need them locally.

You are right but it is really an emergency. İ am ok for half of my staked tokens. And the site should be advice a early unstake options for inverstors.

Sadly i think the silence speaks for itself. I love freebitco.in, over the years i've made a great profit from referrals and interest, but it seems behind the scenes it is just a two man operation. Kind of amazing to think they are handling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of bitcoin. I pulled some of my holdings out yesterday. It's a shame as their interest program was basically free money, but on the slim chance something goes wrong, I would lose a lot of money.

We're not talking about your personal affairs here, you have custody of our money, in some cases we're talking millions of dollars worth of bitcoin, your response is extremely unprofessional. You would think you would want to put peoples mind at rest. In what way would making contingency plans public be a detriment to your operation?

Our contingency plans are personal. Your question is also pointless as the last reply shows.

As an ex-customer of Mt. Gox, Inputs.io, Cryptsy and a few more that are no more I can say that is excellent advice. Never leave what you can't afford to lose on any site. I wonder what Tradefortess or Big Vern would have replied if I'd asked them about what personal inheritance plans they had in the event of anything unfortunate happening to them? I'd wager a few dollars they would have just made something up rather than being honest and saying it's none of your business.

All you can sensibly do is come to your own opinion about a site's reputation and history and decide how much you want to risk. Asking for reassurance really is dumb.

I disagree, transparency is key, particularly in the crypto industry where scams and disasters are rife. Imagine if i enquired to a large exchange and asked them how they are keeping my money safe, and their response was "none of your business, your question is dumb". This is what separates amateurs from professionals. You clearly have an ego problem and are quick to act defensive, your attitude is very much "if you don't like it, tough shit". I've defended you before when morons have come here claiming your site is a scam, but in this instance, you're wrong. You've clearly told us that freebitco.in is a 2 man operation, and thats all we know.

You're welcome to disagree but I've explained why my 10 years in the Bitcoin world have formed my views. You're mistaking a reply to a question with transparency. I'm being transparent in telling you that any answer I give would be worthless. Don't mistake some corporate PR blurb about how their systems are foolproof with a guarantee. Just because their PR team seems polished doesn't mean you can't get scammed. I'm trying to help you work out what is important. If you think that my trying to give you the benefit of experiences learned the hard way is amateurish or a sign of an ego problem that's up to you.

In your mind any answer would be worthless, but I'm guessing you've spent so many years on your end of the operation, you forget the wants and needs of a standard user. Even saying "we have contingency plans, but we don't wish to make that information public, but rest assured, more than 2 people have access to our cold wallets should something happen" would have sufficed to put a lot of peoples mind at rest. Anywho, I've said all I want to say, thanks for replying.
