Another thing about PoS difficulty. The first five TEK PoS blocks ever (49700, 49853, 49925, 50178, and 50430) all had higher difficulty (0.003+) than we have now at around 0.002.
Between blocks 506601 and 506602 the difficulty switched from .003906 to .000061 which seems right since there would have been a whole month between PoS blocks and the difficulty adjusted and has slowly been increasing since. Does PoS reward adjust based on difficulty or network weight. If it's difficulty, it should still be 40+% since it is still lower than it ever was on the pre-506500 blocks.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT German Poolparty League !!Hello Folk's, sorry, but i'dont have TIME to play hours and hours with this Coin. What i'have do, later i'have play with the database. I'was bit in my table!!! So, i'have setup a new clean database!!! This was the best way, without play hours more. What is with the work? The balance still stay in the wallet. I'will pay for all active users in this week, by hand, if send me a email with tekcoin address: to mr@port-x.de. I'will look the old database for the account name and send him coins. Sorry this is the best way for me solved the problem. so if you join again our pool you have to setup a new account. but you can be sure everytink will now ok. thanks for your accept, my decision. happy mining PS: of course i'will send the coins only if everything is ok with transactions and i have testet befor. your pool looks like it has been on the right chain and is still looking good. i remade my account with he same email and username do you need more info?

Cryptsy is having issues with TEK anyway... but here's something that everyone needs to understand right now:
DO NOT MAKE ANY WITHDRAWAL TRANSACTIONS AT THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!
If I'm wrong in saying this, someone please feel free to correct me...
I'm not even going to do any coin control transactions for a little while...
Probably wise for a little bit. Cryptsy is working with the devs, so they'll be straight soon if they're not already, but I'd honestly either wait for them to announce it or send them a ticket. On the difficulty issue, I'm pretty sure it'll even out over time. Remember, it was a block being solved in the future (but accepted by the chain for unknown reasons) that caused all this grief in the first place. That screwed the difficulty calculations all up. the fix lowers the threshold for recalculating difficulty for a short period, then makes it so the first cause can't ever happen again. I would have expected it to be worse, honestly. Those of you who have not staked yet, it actually might be a good idea to not let it stake for a few days, let things settle down. My own were a mix. some blocks staked pretty high, others, as y'all have noted, were significantly low. All in all, I'm happy with it. A little hit now to get everything straight is minor.

I downloaded the latest windows wallet with fix from put this in tekcoin.conf: connect=74.196.63.95 connect=75.90.67.140 connect=68.229.91.209 connect=108.59.185.202 connect=98.236.102.116 connect=75.91.15.240 connect=94.156.230.246 connect=64.188.164.77 and in minutes I am in sync and staking Works for me, wallet reports v2.0.1 but I'm connected just to nodes which report v2.0.0 so a bit confused about versions - what are differences between v2.0.0 and v2.0.1 Net hashrate reported by wallet is wrong, is shows just 0.151 MH/s for PoW difficulty at around 155k and also network stake weight value is missing (wallet is locked, do I have to unlock it for value to show up?). Another thing about PoS difficulty. The first five TEK PoS blocks ever (49700, 49853, 49925, 50178, and 50430) all had higher difficulty (0.003+) than we have now at around 0.002.

I think PoS reward is based on total network weight - the more TEK are mature, the lower is reward. Difficulty is there just to attempt to keep block generation rate at 1 minute on average.

the first tekcoins staked would have been 30 days after mintage started and likely blocks of 1, starting diff then would begin to adjust. it appears the pos diff adj is working and that includes changing the payout %. here is some copy pasta // tekcoin: reward for coin-year is cut in half every 64x multiply of PoS difficulty // A reasonably continuous curve is used to avoid shock to market // (nRewardCoinYearLimit / nRewardCoinYear) ** 4 == bnProofOfStakeLimit / bnTarget // // Human readable form: // // nRewardCoinYear = 1 / (posdiff ^ 1/4) you can look at lines 975-1015 here https://github.com/maxxine/TEK/blob/master/src/main.cpp for more

OK guys, please confirm I am right A. Salvaging1. We finally have a working TEK again - no more forks - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=320404.msg8565376#msg85653762. Do NOT start up the old client. Get the latest version instead. 3. Do NOT use the older blockchain. Sync everything from scratch (so, delete your /tekcoin folder EXCEPT your wallet, of course). A blockchain is available to download somewhere (please point the URL, update the OP 4. Ideally, use a backup of your wallet, not the latest version of your wallet, which might be on the wrong chain from the past ten days 5. While you're at it, create a tekcoin.conf file like this one put this in tekcoin.conf (thanks to oto3): connect=74.196.63.95 connect=75.90.67.140 connect=68.229.91.209 connect=108.59.185.202 connect=98.236.102.116 connect=75.91.15.240 connect=94.156.230.246 connect=64.188.164.776. Prepare to get a much lower interest rate than before, since NVCS finally kicked in. This means the poor sod like me who expected this interest rate to continu for some time are out of luck. But this also mean that, hopefully, the price will go up. Do NOT sell at these prices. Yes, some people will dump hard, let them dump, Alternatively, you can try short selling, of course. Whatever happens, TEK should rise in price again, but not immediately 7. It would be good to check your wallet. Repair wallet and --salvage wallet would make sense, but more explanations needed here 8. Update the OP with instructions. So, please confirm step-by-step (e.g. 1 is OK, 2 is not, 3 is OK...). Until I get a OK satisfactory answer on steps 1 to 5 included (and optionally step 7 too), I won't start my wallet. B. Observations1. In the future, dev should use #tekcoin (IRC @freenode) instead of bitcointalk. This is much faster for debugging. 2. I would welcome a debriefing. What went wrong ( biomech wrote up a nice summary), what can be done to improve the process ( PDCA/Deming wheel)

What went wrong ( biomech wrote up a nice summary), what can be done to improve the process ( PDCA/Deming wheel) 64.188.164.77 leave this one out. It's my ip, and it's going to go away tomorrow most likely, as I'm moving. It's a good node until I take it down, so no worries, but I'd take it out of your configuration to avoid any problems when I go offline. I'll probably be offline for like a week to ten days, or very spotty if I am online, and then I'll be a solid node again. David, you probably have a better understanding of this than I do, but I think the NVCS adjusment will calm down in a few days, so if all of us use coin control and stage our staking, it likely won't go nuts again, barring further catastrophe. Thundertoe or Defaced can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe they are going to release another wallet with checkpoints and exclusions very soon, but it will NOT be a mandatory update as this last series was because the checkpoints and exclusions will be the only change. That being said, there ain't no good reason NOT to update when that happens. I personally think IRC is a disease, but in this instance, I have to agree with your assesment. Either that or a skype room for the duration of any emergency.

No one is forcing you to stake coins right now, just keep wallet locked until "climate" for stake reward is better. You mean that if I stake later, I could get a higher rate? Is there a way to evaluate this? I suppose a diff chart would be the way, like this one for Monero: http://monerochain.info/charts/difficulty. Do you confirm that such a chart exist? "Works for me, wallet reports v2.0.1 but I'm connected just to nodes which report v2.0.0 so a bit confused about versions - what are differences between v2.0.0 and v2.0.1 Huh"

Thanks Biomech and xhabit Updated version A. Salvaging1. (awaiting confirmation) We finally have a working TEK again - no more forks - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=320404.msg8565376#msg8565376. Still,it would be best (but not necessary) to wait for a pending release with checkpoints. 2. (awaiting confirmation) Do NOT start up the old client. Get the latest version instead. 3. (awaiting confirmation) Do NOT use the older blockchain. Sync everything from scratch (so, delete your /tekcoin folder EXCEPT your wallet, of course). A blockchain is available to download somewhere (please point the URL, update the OP 4. (awaiting confirmation) Ideally, use a backup of your wallet, not the latest version of your wallet, which might be on the wrong chain from the past ten days 5. (awaiting confirmation) If you want to have something closer to the advertised 40%, do NOT stake now (and thus, do not leave you wallet open more than for checking it works). Please note this is not an evidence that NVCS is really working as it should, only that under exceptional circumstances, it does sort work - but this is still not sure it works as intended. Presstab, can you elaborate on this, regarding the TEK NVCS that could still be broken even after the fix? elaborated on this. 7. (awaiting confirmation) It would be good to check your wallet. Repair wallet and --salvage wallet would make sense, but more explanations needed here 8. (awaiting confirmation) Update the OP with instructions. B. Observations1. In the future, dev should use #tekcoin (IRC @freenode) or (Skype or any instant messenging people are comfortable with) instead of bitcointalk. This is much faster for debugging. 2. I would welcome a debriefing. What went wrong ( biomech wrote up a nice summary), what can be done to improve the process ( PDCA/Deming wheel), like setting up a testnet, preparing a checklist before release...

Looks like as long as the difficulty is around 0.0023, then the stake % given is going to be at the current 201% annual rate (see stakeinterest above). I don't think this was done intentionally, but you can clearly see why NVCS is now kicking in. One of the revisions issued to the code changed the bnTargetLimit calculation. The NVCS code: CBigNum bnMidValue = (bnLowerBound + bnUpperBound) / 2; if (fDebug && GetBoolArg("-printcreation")) printf("GetProofOfStakeReward() : lower=%"PRI64d" upper=%"PRI64d" mid=%"PRI64d"\n", bnLowerBound.getuint64(), bnUpperBound.getuint64(), bnMidValue.getuint64()); if (bnMidValue * bnMidValue * bnMidValue * bnMidValue * bnTargetLimit > bnRewardCoinYearLimit * bnRewardCoinYearLimit * bnRewardCoinYearLimit * bnRewardCoinYearLimit * bnTarget) bnUpperBound = bnMidValue; else bnLowerBound = bnMidValue; See that if the multiple of bnMidvalue^4 * bnTargetLimit > bnRewardCoinYearLimit^4 * bnTarget, then it will change bnUpperBound to equal bnMidValue. then bnUpperBound is assigned as the reward nRewardCoinYear = bnUpperBound.getuint64(); nRewardCoinYear = min(nRewardCoinYear, MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE); The getmininginfo command I posted above returns nRewardCoinYear in the "stakeinterest" JSON. Hope this helps everyone understand the reward system. I got rid of this altogether in HYP because it wasn't my cup of tea.

Hope this helps everyone understand the reward system. I got rid of this altogether in HYP because it wasn't my cup of tea. Thanks presstab. I updated my previous post accordingly. The ELI5 version (presstab, don't hesitate to correct me) is that the NVCS code is not smooth enough; it kicks in late and when it kicks in, it kicks hard and this hurts. HYP code is smoother, less painful to users. For people familiar with Monero and PoW, consider NVCS as block halving and HYP staking (we have to find a better name, press) is continous decrease.

@ david, yes, it's normally addnode instead of connect. But to make sure, prior to the checkpoints and exclusions, connect will ONLY connect to the noted IP, whereas addnode will allow you to connect to as many peers as it can find. That is in fact one way to make a test chain. Get the ip of the other guy's wallet, remove or comment out all addnodes, put in the connect statement for ONLY that wallet, and voila! new chain

By the way: I can't compile TEK's new version because it is looking for mingw-specific libraries ( -lboost_system-mgw48-mt-s-1_55 -lboost_filesystem-mgw48-mt-s-1_55 -lboost_program_options-mgw48-mt-s-1_55 -lboost_thread-mgw48-mt-s-1_55). Sure, I could manually edit the makefile, but that's not the point of compiling from source to manually edit and I don't know how to commit a tekcoin-qt-linux.pro file (which should be updated manually everytime the tekcoin-qt.pro file would be updated). I am using Manjaro (Arch-based, not a Debian-based Linux) Makefile:418: recipe for target 'Tekcoin-qt' failed
Can you confirm step 2 and step 4?
