Per month? Or you staked at high PoS difficulty and actualy made 20% per month (40% in 2 months)? I'm not checking TEK difficulty so I can't tell how high or low it is right now.

Hey, I have already marked that particular date and time on my calendar, go away!  

Jokes aside, there is no need to do anything right now - just do not stake until you see low PoS difficulty, it is as easy as that. No one and nothing is forcing you to stake exactly
at the time your coins are 30 days old, you can do it at any other moment past those 30 days. You can wait 2+ months. Keep wallet locked and unlock it only once PoS difficulty
suits you.

I've still seen no answer as to why the latest compiled Windows version of the TEK wallet needs IRC when previous versions apparently did not. What changed? Is it necessary?

It seems that almost everyone staked their coins in the first few days since hard-fork happened and thus there will be a long period with lowest possible PoS difficulty. I can bet
it will stay like that for a very long time, most people are impatient and will probably forget what was posted on last dozen of pages here.
