Maybe it will work better now that the fork is done.

Beware everyone! A large HYP and TEK holder, Dexpla, had his coin stolen. Which means there are scripts for robbing HYP and TEK around. Dexpla was on Windows 7. I don't know if it could have been avoided with Linux or Mac (since it was a link in a mail) but remember this: encrypt your wallet. Having multiple addresses won't change a thing, Dexpla had multiples addresses too.

Seems like a good time to bump this again: Kaspersky flags this: "Denied: Trojan Win32.IRCbot.eci" Bump, mainly because IRC Freenode has just been reported hacked: http://altcoinpress.com/2014/09/irc-freenode-network-hacked/I've still seen no answer as to why the latest compiled Windows version of the TEK wallet needs IRC when previous versions apparently did not. What changed? Is it necessary? Thanks.

Well that is exactly what you are not supposed to do. My password for my wallet has 25 numbers, symbols, Uppercase, Lowercase letters. Try and hack that fuckers!

It is unclear to me what happened there. Someone hacked his gmail account then reseted exchange password (no 2FA?) or he was tricked into downloading some infected stuff?

Last time I heard of a hack on another coin, they were on about this and that, but what ended up being revealed is they were using TeamViewer or something that allows other people to use a machine remotely.

AS I understand it if your wallet is encrypted even if they steal your coins they will never be able to spend them. So it is definitely a good idea to encrypt the wallet.

He received an email saying his google accounts were compromised and to please click on this link to fix everything. Next thing he knows he has a trojan that stole everything. It was 12k TEK and 340k HYP. The 10k or so sell that ThunderToe mentioned, is probably it.
So the moral of the story is that if you have reason to believe your accounts are compromised, don't click a link. Type the domain into your browser manually and change the passwords manually. Even if you think the email is from google or somewhere official, do everything manually.

It is impossible to infect computer with trojan or keylogger by merely click a link. There was always something else besides a mere click - download and run something, allow Java stuff to run and so on.

What is the best pool for mining tek. It appears as if Tompool is going to be down for a long time.

Yea for almost two days now. Mostly orphans and on multiple pools so not a pool issue but definately a network issue. Would like to see it fixed soon. Please update on the situation cause you cannot mine TEK at the moment.
