People, please don't use third party websites to check hashes. It defeats the purpose of the hash.

If you're using Windows, download this to check the hashes easily and quickly. It's open source and free:

It's been great over the last couple of months to see the Nxt community continually come together and innovate this crypto. Now, we appear to be moving foward towards improvement, promotion and adoption, sometimes, separately. So, I asked myself, what could be done to perhaps encompass all of the above and it came to me.

In my spare time, I am the president of my local Rotary Club. Yearly, we offer 2 $1,000 USD scholarships for prospective college students. You would be amazed at the response our community and the participants show in receiving such a trivial amount in the grand scheme of things. At best, it's enough to pay for books. This kids don't just get good grades, they also participate in extra curricular activities, volunteer and follow our process to become nominated and finally chosen to receive the Scholarship.

Nxt is not a charity, but we are obviously charitable and in fact are looking for ways to improve and promote Nxt.

Hence, I would like to propose a Nxt Incubator/Scholarship Promotion.

The purpose of this project is to foster Innovation and Promotion from participants. The basic concept is participants must develop some type of innovation that adds real value to the Nxt Economy. I won't waste my time giving examples simply because, what we are possibly looking for, has never been mentioned, and if so, perhaps not implemented. So I would leave it to the potential participants to make their proposals.

The basic requirements of accepted proposals would be as follows:

What every project they submit, must follow a certain path, which includes;
1. Develop
2. Implement
3. Promote
4. Adopt

Which I will refer to as Nxt DIPA

It is one thing to come up with a great idea, it's even better when you can build it, but what really makes a difference is when the former is done and you get individuals to actually adopt your idea and share it with others.

So, we are looking for a multi-faceted approach to innovating Nxt and encouraging those not necessarily aware of Nxt to participate in a scholarly and social manner. We can obviously begin the campaign by promoting on a myriad of forums ranging from Angel Investor Forums to inner city tech schools. You'd be suprised what a difference a couple of books or supplies can make to an impoverished business or education facility.

We would need to come up with a committee to foster the projects and provide guidance and feedback to participants as they move from the application process towards to the development process and reward decision.

I believe there should be clear guidelines of expectations, deliverables, guidelines etc....

How much and how often, is not really important at this point. I am just looking to guage the communities interest.

I will personally donate 25,000 Nxt towards this venture when it becomes a reality.

Am I forging right? I bought a BTC worth of NXT a few days ago, so I have around 11.5k. All I have to do is leave on my NXT client (NRS 0.7.6) and forging will happen by itself? The past few pages have been talking about how to change up forging to be more profitable... but my question is, how do I check on the progress of my forging?

Thanks! And happy NXTing!

If you leave your client on for 24 hours (1440 minutes) then you are forging.  Your client is broadcasting its availability to forge the next block, and there is a lottery system going on once a minute behind the scenes that your 11.5K NXT is participating in to win you the right to forge the next block.  Wait long enough, you will win that lottery at some particular minute, and you will forge a block.  As for monitoring your "progress" - I am not sure if you can really do that.

The two arrows represents "transactions in and out of your account".  The globe / peers is just an item of general interest - your client is not communicating with all the computers on the NXT network, only this subset.  The puzzle piece is data about the most recently forged blocks.

Great thanks for the help! Still more questions! Smiley

1) How can I tip you through this forum?
2) Do I have to leave the wallet unlocked for a strict, straight 24 hours? I use a laptop that I bring to work, then bring to home. So I lose internet connection during transit. If I do need to leave the website on 24/7, raspberry pi is best for minimal cost/best efficiency?

You can get some info on What you have forged on the block explorer. If you have Forged empty blocks you probably wouldn't be able to tell on the wallet client. http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=1

So it's just a client that sits on top of Bitcoin wallet, nothing revolutionary and still very slow.
