Lophie is selling 800k at 0.000082, This is the usual rush sale, PM ASAP.

Fellow Nxters! User lophie has a great Nxt to BTC trade offered, and I want to take him up on it! Can people vouch for him? He does have a ton of posts and Hero status, but I want to be even safer than safe because I will have to send first!~

He is cool. I can vouch for him.

"This means that a person wishing to retain their wealth across what could be many decades of
biostasis might attempt do so by memorizing their access code and destroying any physical record of it –putting this wealth
out of circulation until their future revival with memories intact. Technical and legal questions abound, but the idea may give
fresh reason to doubt the phase “You can’t take it with you.” "
from http://brainpreservation.org/sites/default/files/PressRelease_OneMillionNXTCoinDonationToBPF.pdf

Nice! Lets spread it!
This was my idea basically Wink

Ideal for NXT (brainwallet) - I suggested to Ken that it could be a benchmark test (in the future) between the two methods, cryopreservation and plastination: which one performs better for remembering the passphrase when resurrected!  Cool

One final thing I will say about the (lack of proper) statistical analysis is that for my own involvement in Nxt I would rather be paid in BTC (if I am to be paid anything at all).

I have read proper statistical papers (such as created by Meni) with sound math describing all of the possible attacks upon Bitcoin and I am much more satisfied with that then the "just trust BCNext's algorithm argument" who himself btw actually stated "don't trust me".

It seems that things like "proper analysis" are not things that this community wants to do or even hear about. Sad

I don't think people really understand what NXT is. They have good Ideas that they would like to see tried, but don't realize that they will be able to try them within the NXT network without overcomplicating the programing. All of these things need not be centralized to the network. They are free market opportunities that can be implemented with the network once it is fit and ready. The network needs to be simple and as decentralized as possible. Sorry to hear your frustration.

Maybe a Tech thread dedicated to you dev guys would keep all the dreamers from pissing  on your gate.

@ AE devs, did you made a balance tracking already and if so did you found any diffs between your

tion to keep this ball rolling.  We should ask the Cryptsy folks to document what was required to get NXT plugged into their system. Then we should turn right around to allwelder or some of the other Chinese NXT members and see that this info from Cryptsy gets communicated to BTX38.com in China.  We need to be on both of these exchanges as soon as possible.  It is the only way we are going to get exposure to a new pool of capital to buy NXT and get our exchange volume back up.

Good idea. Give them some bounty for it.
I support this - a part of unclaimed funds should go as a bounty to cryptsy, btc38 and maybe btc-e (I hate these scammers but..).

Let's move this shit forward, especially cryptsy (big volume) and btc38 (CNY/NXT).

I suggest 100K nxt bounty.

i for one appreciated hearing about your statistical analysis. i didn't say anything to you about it because it seems like you usually don't respond to my posts. it could be that im just missing your responses or something, i dont follow everything in this thread.

Hey, bittrex asks why this doesn't work:

Code:
 > curl -X POST -H "Content-Type:application/json" --data "secretPhrase=xxx" http://127.0.0.1:7876/nxt?requestType=getAccountId
{"errorCode":3,"errorDescription":"\"secretPhrase\" not specified"}

What is wrong here?

I have no freakin' clue why you come to this conclusion. I am extremely satisfied with and thankful for your contribution and we all discussed the algo today. Why do you suddenly think no one wants this?

Thanks for the kind words - it is perhaps a combination of being tired, not getting anyone else to work on the simulation and just getting more and more suggestions for alternative ways to do things when we don't already even know what it is doing that has led to me needing to "give it a rest".

everyone is here to help to be successful nxt

I encourage you
You are doing a great job!!

Actually 0.8.2 allows POST so why does this not work?  (--data == post)

I also tried

Code:
 > curl -X POST -H "Content-Type:application/json" --data "secretPhrase=xxx&requestType=getAccountId" http://127.0.0.1:7876/nxt
{"errorCode":1,"errorDescription":"Incorrect request"}

Clearly NRS can't read parameters sent this way... Better ask Jean-Luc then.

POST works in javascript, why not CURL. I assume it's the same syntax? hmmm

You deserve your rest but please, after that, keep it coming. I think the most of us are just silent (or suggest incentive ideas) because they have no clue what you are talking about.

+1, i think that everyone is happy that people like @CIYAM are part of Nxt! When he proposed discussing a chnage in forging, people (including me) did't like it only because i thought the reason was "fairness", but he obviously had something much different in mind. Plus, BCnext wanted people discussing his ideas, right?

NXT FUNDING COMMITTEE VOTE STARTS IN 53 HOURS
AT 12:01 AM MARCH 1 (UTC)

Remaining eligible nominees with as-yet undeclared intentions (PM me if you want off this list):

2Kool4Skewl, Arckam_(frmelin), bitcoinpaul,  buybitcoinscanada, Cointropolis_JustabitTime, Come-from-Beyond
Damelon, davethetrousers, drevil,   ferment, Fry, hughmanwho, Jean-Luc, jl777, Klee, landomata, laowai80,  msin, mww
nexern, opticalcarrier, PeercoinEnthusiast,  Pouncer,  Ricot, SecondLeo, smaragda,  VanBreuk,  ZeroTheGreat

Something Zahlen said:  A candidate does not need to be good at writing English. Some candidates may not have English as their mother tongue. If you're voting, don't confuse lots of writing for ability to judge the worth of a project. Remember that ultimately the committee's job is to decide which projects get funded.

If you are on this list and want to be on a NXT funding committee, go here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=479167.msg5280476#msg5280476

Background:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg5280786#msg5280786

WE NOW HAVE A FULL SLATE

(Actually, antanst was a little late to the nominee party and was never on the blue list above.  But he's a coder, he runs multiple NXT nodes and he wrote the NXT Reddit tipbot.  Since I'm drunk with power and making the rules here, I say he's now a candidate for techdev.  If you disagree, don't vote for him - run against him!).

(However, I am not so drunk that I'm gonna let just anybody on this slate.  Newbie BC.NXT has posted on the candidate thread.  However, after checking his credentials and posting background, I will not be listing him on the ballot.   To quote the mythical American television commercial: Sorry, Charley, only the best tuna get to be Star-Kist.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_slate

Good luck to these nominees who have declared themselves candidates:

NXTmarketingfund: allwelder, Damelon,  Mario123, Asian Prepper, joefox, brooklynbct, CoinTropolis_NiftyNikel, Uniqueorn, salsacz
NXTtechdevfund: EmoneyRu, Anon136, l8orre, abuelau, antanst
NXTinfrastructurefund: rickyjames, chanc3r, EvilDave, pandaisftw, ChuckOne, ^[GS]^

Yeah, you may have seen this before.  I'll be putting it up every ten pages or so.  It's one of those "legitimate, transparent process" things.

@ AE devs, did you made a balance tracking already and if so did you found any diffs between your
filled/cancel orders if you unroll them back to inital balance?

ps: thx abctc

Unconfirmed balance bug is not fixed yet.

didn't mean this one but the account balance showed by NRS differs from API request after trading.
with balance tracking i mean also to ensure the balance has the correct calculated amount
after heavy trading and order cancel when calculating all fees and prices and then roll them back.
both numbers need to match of course. i think this has to be tested too but it seems i am the only one
looking into this atm.

My web client? Ya, doesn't update the balance at all times, will fix later.
