Just a heads up for those who have problem with raven and criptobridge-raven will be listed on cryptopia tomorrow(deposit/witdrawals are already working)not really sure if they are any better then cb but just a heads up

Nice!!! Didn't see that one coming this soon.
It's about time!
In any case RVN has seen its price rise quite nicely as a result lately. I had actually mined over 20'000 of these coins in 5 days not long after its release back in feb. Waited a few weeks and sold'em. Made $500. Good five days of mining for a 5x1080 rig that was.
Been accumulating a few thousand coins every now and then. It's like a safe bet to get back to when you're bored of Nicehash or ETH...

I've been mining it with 25 gpu's since mid April.  Very curious to see what this exchange listing does for the btc pairing.

Ok, I want you to walk back in there and very calmly, very politely tell the risk assessors to fuck off! -Mark Baum

Yeah, it's good to see Raven on Cryptopia.  I like what CryptoBridge is trying to do, but they have had their ups and downs implementing it, so it's definitely nice to see RVN on another, larger (relatively speaking) exchange that's established already.

I'll be reluctant to sell my rvn unless the btc pairing is in the upper 800 sats.

I think what we need for coins like ETH and ZEC is basically a pool like "Solo CKPool".

Mining is so unprofitable that you might be better off just trying to solo mine it instead like we all tried with our USB SHA256 stick miners.

Basically with a RX 470 you got a 1/1500 chance of finding a block per day. You got 2 rigs with 5 GPUs each, then you got a 1/150 chance per day of finding a block.

With a USB SHA256 miner, I think your odds were like 1/100000000 of finding a block.

How do you figure this?

Given that 10 pcs of RX 470s could net you around 270 MH, how does that give you 1/150 chance of finding an ETH block per day? Not that it sounds profitable at all, because even then thats like 0.6% chance per day of ever finding a block.

My calculations might be off but an RX 470 finds like 0.002 ETH per day, I just did 3/0.002 and got ~1500 days.

3 ETH is still the block reward for ETH correct?

Does anybody have experience with WhatsMiner? They just announced a 44Th/s Decred Miner as well as a 33Th/s SHA-256. Shipping end of November. I think till then Bitmain might have announced new miners as well so those won’t look as good as they do now?

That’s good to know. So they are legit.
I am interested in their Decred miner, but I think the risk is too big to order so far out (almost 4 months in advance).

Hey my 333mhs block eruptor is still on CKsolopool.  ETH/ETC solo mining can be a bitch to run properly though.  Beats any pool mining though.

They were legit and have been legit.  As for the new gear most likely it will come out.

And four months wait is too long for gear.

The BTC at 33th to ship on sept 20th is the better risk.

I should get one around sept 1st to demo.

What are you referring to? Running GETH? I've only solo-mined ETH "alts" but running GETH and mining was a freaking breeze..

Running GETH was easy when the blockchain was small but right now its a pain to download all those Gigs and Gigs of data.

And also solo-mining ETH thru the GETH wallet has a huge latency problem, hence why stratum was introduced later.

Really would like a ETH solo mining pool, rather pay the 1% than have to deal with running it locally.

Ahh I see. Yeah the forks/alts don't have that problem. Was stratum put in the wallet itself? Or.. I'm confused how that would work.

I decided to use the E3, averages 190-200MHs stock clocks 1600mhz at 800-840watts, it will spend its lifetime mining ETC.

On another note, my group decided to drop the X11/D3s, but retained Scrypt/L3+

Anyone interested in the D3s - PM me - locations: Labrador, Canada 9 units, Auckland, NZ 14 units.

I just received 1 x E3 that I bought for 800$ awhile back.

Should I use it or sell it?

The label says "190MH"

yeah  the tighter the margins the more important power becomes

looks like a new fork for monero

this is pretty good news.

the key is can they fork often enough to hold off the asics?
