@Jiggy0001 - It can be hard sometimes but try to stay positive. We don't know what's going on in their lives and trying to be constructive works a lot better than calling out what you're unhappy about.
Price fluctuations can cause a bit of a headache - I know I had to quit mining for a while because of heat issues. I think a lot are in the same boat. I still purchase VTC but mining it is likely out until the fall. I currently have 5.5k VTC and each time a dip occurs I pick up some more to lower my buy in average.
Let's focus on improving, people complaining in public places does nothing for the confidence of a coin. Those that do may be inadvertently getting the opposite effect they're going for.
let´s be honest... Most of VTC holders are not bag holders in my opinion, because most of them just sold. so holding 5k+ VTC i also see it as an opportunity to rebuy at low prices. Nevertheless... YOU are mentioning an important point. YOU won't be mining until fall?!?!? Thats the burning house we are looking burning down to the ground. Miners are not idiots, they have to pay their bills and without them VTC will be "dust in the wind". Why the hell do other coins figure it out how to stay alive although they are shitcoins and professional coins like VTC are being treated so badly by their devs? If the hash rate drops too much I'd bite the bullet and come back in. Right now heat is killing me. I went through 3 sets of fans in a month. I choose to support VTC through being part of the community and by buying VTC via fiat. We still have a very health hash rate. As prices here have show currently the hash rate is not directly proportional to price increase. A lower hash rate may actually get more people involved in mining.

ok, i am not a miner, so thanks for that input. But i read a lot about VTC and it seems it might be a long term issue that people will stop mining in summer, because they are living in a microwave thanks to their VTC rigs.

VTC is a great coin, but it seems like the DEV is a) a bunch of nerds or b) they are professionals in tricking us.
You sound like a spoiled child, are you really going after the devs right now? What have YOU done for the coin? How about you stop complaining and start doing something constructive. The devs can't do everything, go out there and spread the word about VTC instead of demanding and name calling. Holy crap, entitled much?

No problem. It will be an issue but not one directly related to VTC. All ASIC resistant coins are going to be in the same boat. If it's everyone's problem than it's no one coins problem. In a sense the Crypto market like many others may be tied into seasonal phases. I've owned and run different business over the years and even when it doesn't make perfect sense you often can find patterns in your sales. We could just be dealing with a natural lull, perhaps due to the nice weather and people focusing less on Crypto, the heat created by our rigs or any number of other reasons. It's not necessarily ever a reason to panic, you just need to look at the long term goal.
Go to coinmarketcap and see how many alt coins are out there. Now subtract all of the coins which were insta-mined (the ones with the *) and you'll see that out of all the coins ever created VTC is sitting nicely at 12th place.
Also note that some coins above us are simply there for the short term, coins that are being pumped and will come crashing down. VTC has been near or in the top 10 for a long while. It's also one of the most profitable coins to mine with a GPU at the moment.

Not sure if anyone else is getting the same results.
VTC has remained in the top 10 on CoinWarz for a loong time. Despite the new hypes, Vertcoin has remained in this bracket without deflation.
I'm still holding all of my VTC. The last big pump nearly doubled my value, and the price was actually right around where it is now.
Let's see how everyone reacts to the new stealth implementation due within the next 10 days.

Sure, but here is my problem. Vtc is basically attempting to cut into Btc s market share in terms of merchant use. I have come to the conclusion that this is a losing battle. It will not be able to penetrate that market in any substantial way. So what is the point of having a secure mining network if the coin is not used for anything? Btc will be for day to day usage, an anon coin will have the privacy market, and what is left for Vtc? The overall "business plan" for Vert is unsustainable as it currently stands. Either it completely goes into a different direction or it will be lost in the clutter very fast.
Just saw this on the reddit. Thats a point that hasent really been covered...
you really think bitcoin will win the battle?

4) If donations would allow one or a few of you to spend more time on the above initiatives we need to start driving dev donations. To you're credit you haven't asked for much at all but maybe you should. As a fellow developer I know how much work can go into planning, coding, testing, releasing and maintaining a project.
I totally agree with this. I believe all the Vertans would support this. No matter how much FUD and nonsense is posted here, I thing that everyone whom recognize this coin as the future of cryptocurrencies sees is with a great future. "we" were born with the community, and we're still here! Again you guys are doing a great job - VTC has one of the best development teams around. The reason I support this coin as much as I do is because you guys plan for the end game. No gimmicks, panning to the masses, or trying to make a quick buck. This coin is poised for wide spread adoption. I understand that this means you're not as interested in the day to day price or volume trading as others as what it's doing today pales to what it will do. I feel we however need to do more in order to reach that end goal. We need more than just a great coin with amazing fundamentals. We also need a PR machine expanding our user base so others will come to know what we already know. VTC is here to stay and those who support it will be greatly rewarded in the future. Both as an early adopter which helped it succeed and financially.
Absolutely!
