I was thinking about how we will be changing algorithms soon and we will have two active Algorithms at once and was wondering if it would be possible to implement a Winter/Summer Algorithm change? Durring hot months we use the summer Alg (lower temps) and Winter we use the higher temps/ more intense Alg?

In other hand block reward should not be changed lightly, especially if longer term view is considered.
Also as total amount of coins increases the daily inflation also decreases.

no it's fine as it is now and we have reached equillibrium already ... messing with the block reward will undermine the whole project long term imho ...

agree totally with rontz and Crypto_EX, only thing changing reward will do is undermine confidence...algos I don't mind too much either way, but please don't destroy our credibility by messing with reward structure.

As there is a good 99.9% chance that they won't be able to mine vertcoin with their 1U slim line vaporware asic machine (or at least not at any reasonable speed), I'd consider this fraud.

Obviously Northern based but maybe we could have them both at the same time, where southern hemisphere pools and nothern use opposite algorithms.

Obviously you're more interested in selling ASICs than in the success of vertcoin...

This change-algorithm discussion is pointless. And it isn't getting better by restarting it every other day.

Scrypt-N is a good, solid algorithm. Despite lots of shady announcements, until today nobody has seen a single ASIC miner capable of mining vertcoin.

Scrypt-N is efficient from a mining point of view, as you can find out with every mining calculator. On coinwarz.com, for example, vertcoin is constantly in the top five coins for weeks now.

So, if you want a "cooler" algorithm, just tune your GPU accordingly. It is absolutely no problem to get less KH/s while consuming less watts resulting in less degree celsius on your miner's status page. I did this myself when mining with some R9 290x, and yes, that can be more efficient than running with top speed.

well, execoin is about to fudge with their block reward, so now we can see if it just tanks below 1000 satoshi and never recovers or surpasses vtc on its way to moon...
