Thank you to everyone for your continued support and your passion for DigiByte. 2016 is on track to be a huge year for DigiByte. The timing just could not be better. Every major bank and company in the world is looking at blockchain tech, and they are looking outside of Bitcoin.  We are going to put Digibyte in front of them. Our next event will be FinDev in New York City on March 29th. Between now and then expect more updates and news!

Cheers,

Jared

Thank you Jared for this neat update !

We are all behind you in your "SpreadDGB around the world quest".
What a challenge this conference !! Looking forward to see you rocking the places again somewhere else in the world !

I will be talking about Digibyte in local events for Bitcoin in France! If any other french people want to contact me. You'll be very welcome. I can even tip french ambassadors if needed !

Stop these Hype money, get in DGB!

Please let everyone know when these local events occur so we can help promote them over social media. We would like to see as many DigiByte Ambassadors as we can across the world. Does anyone have any ideas for a unique, more formal "DigiByte Ambassador" program? This can be away to get more people involved and a more formal outreach. Perhaps we could use the list of events found on bitcoin.org and coindesk and get people to start attending local events.

I noted the other day that digibyte gaming has ~7000 members, at what point do you think it will pique the interest of larger gaming and hardware companies to use it as an advertising platform? 50,000, 100,000, more?

When we get "STEAM" involved...Imagine that  Wink

http://store.steampowered.com/

All Steam games paid in DGB to play would be massive.

Well it would be big but it is also borderline imposible. There is a glimer oh hope tho because steam is working on adding btc as payment method for countries worldwide, some people already have access to it. Once it is out and gets positive reception anything can happen. For dgb to get accepted it would need to justify the costs of adding it.

The KEY with GAMERS is getting them to mine when they're not gaming.

That's where the real win-win is: paid to play is unsustainable promo, whereas mining when not playing generates real income for them while also strengthening the network for everyone at the same time.

Well, for sure DGB is better than BTC for that kind of stuff, specially with BTC being long for transaction confirmations.

Yes certainly. But if you would right now set up a payment system there for dgb and btc, what do you think the % would be for each of them. I am rather certain that btc would be way ahead. Valve could add dgb but there first needs to be enough player/buyer interest there to justify adding it. Maybe some day when dgb and cryptos are more widely appected.

You're right. I love BTC, think we all do, but I really appreciate paying stuff with DGB, it's way faster, for online payment at least.

The only issue I See so far isn't the BTC + DGB on same market. It's the price volatility, it means people have to update their website everytime, maybe they can set some kind of function for it. But I can imagine, if they do have to set the price manually, it's nearly impossible.

Still, Steam + BTC / Steam + DGB or STeam + BTC / DGB is still a mega-combo Smiley

What is a problem with DiGiByte Gaming? - when I try to sign in I got a "Your account is disabled" error message?

And there was no payouts since Marth, 1 (I play many LoL matches).

Please respond.

I sent a questions via DiGiByte Gaming site Help form some days ago but have no reply.

I agree. While it appears to be a good way to spread awareness, getting people hooked into receiving payments for playing games (with no way to recoup this money from game developers or advertising etc.) has the downside of building people's expectations to get something for nothing.

I wonder if game developers which allow in-game item purchases might be open to DigiByte themed in-game items, which can only be purchased with Digibyte? Perhaps difficult to implement, but more sustainable than the status quo.

So they're gonna try to use the rocking DGB code on a deadcoin ? Smiley

What could this bring to DGB? Nothing but a sweet name on news in Iceland I guess ?
Wondering.. Smiley

Hard to say. I suppose it increases the name recognition & because it's open code after all they could have used it themselves anyway. But in principle I am not really in favour of other coins essentially cloning DigiByte. Or at least not until we see wider adoption.

Perhaps someone could develop games that mine. Tying the two together would be a killer app.

Rest assured, we are focused on Iceland only and leave the rest of the world up to Digibyte. Since our main focus it to provide Iceland with a good alternative to their broken monetary system, we are not seeking to reinvent the wheel over and over, like many other coins have. We kindly asked your devs if we could use your code. Not because we want to clone DGB, but because it simply is the best way to stabilize and protect our network.

I personally met with Jared in Amsterdam last year and I'm a true fan of Digibyte and the amazing stuff you guys do. So expect nothing but respect from us  Smiley

On behalf of our team I like to thank yours for your support!

As the only country in the world that told the banks where to go when they ripped the piss out of all of us the Icelandic people have my respect and good for you taking advantage of DigiByte OS network stabilization methods, I’m glad we could help!  Smiley
