Instead of asking users for the answers, why don't the Devs publish a definitive FAQ?

Or at least pay a reasonable bounty for someone else to do it?  Cheesy

That would also go a long ways towards avoiding the undesired spread of misleading and incorrect information and the after-the-fact time and effort to set things straight. Wink

Take the DigiByte Quiz
First Person to Answer all Questions Correctly Earns

50,000 DigiBytes!

1) What is a block?
A block is a part of a blockhain which records some or all of the recent transactions on the blockchain, and once completed goes into the blockchain as a permament database.

2) What is a blockchain?
It is a database which holds information on transactions on the network of the chain. Full copy of a blockchain contains every transaction made in the currency.

3) When was DigiByte launched?
January 10th. 2014

3.1) What is a genesis block?
It is the first block generated on the blockchain.

3.5) What was the news headline hashed into the DigiByte genesis block?
EUSA: today: 10/jan/2014, Target: Data stolen from up to 110m customers.

4) How fast are DigiByte block times?
15 seconds.

5) How many mining algorithms does DigiByte have?
5

6) Name all the DigiByte mining algorithms:

14) What is the DigiByte monthly reductions rate for how many DigiBytes are generated each month?
1%.

15) How can documents be embedded in the DigiByte blockchain?
By using Digusign.com, you can also embed a custom message! Tongue

16) What is the command to reindex a DigiByte wallet on windows?
The command should be "/yourpath/digibyte-qt.exe -reindex"

17) What is a DigiByte node?
A computer which is a part of the dgb network which validates and relays transactions to others.

18) What is the command to reindex a DigiByte wallet on Mac OSX?
Mac:  /Applications/Digibyte-Qt-"version".app/Contents/MacOS/Digibyte-Qt -reindex

18.5) What is digibyted?
It is a sort of an headless client For DGB. Uses Digibyte core source code.

19) What is an RPC command?
RPC, defined by RFC 1057, is a set of function calls used by a client program to call functions in a remote server program.

20) What is digibyte.conf?
It is the configuration file for your DGB Node.

21) What is wallet.dat?
It is the wallet file for your wallet program, it is essentially a marker on the blockchain where your coins are.

22) Where is wallet.dat stored on windows?
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\DigiByte

23) Where is wallet.dat stored on a mac?
~/Library/Application Support/Digibyte

24) What is the most useful RPC command?

25) What is a difficulty adjustment?
Difficulty is a measure of how difficult it is to find a hash below a given target. The adjustment of it is to either make it easier or harder based on the hashing power of for example of a mining pool.

26) What is OP_RETURN?
OP_RETURN is a script opcode used to mark a transaction output as invalid.

27) What is the difference between a full node an an SPV wallet?
A full-node is a mining node.

A node:

Needs a complete, validated copy of the blockchain so that it can mine on the correct chain, earning bitcoins and contributing to the security of the network.
Chooses the transactions it includes in its blocks.
Relies on other mining nodes to accept its blocks as valid. Rejects any invalid blocks.
Won’t update its software unless it is sure it will generate blocks valid to the rest of the network
Will likely service requests for blockchain data and SPV clients. The mining nodes provide fraud proofs to SPV-users.

SPV client:
Simplfied Payment Verification:
A Bitcoin implementation that does not verify everything, but instead relies on either connecting to a trusted node, or puts its faith in high difficulty as a proxy for proof of validity.

28) What is a deterministic wallet?
A deterministic wallet is a system of deriving keys from a single starting point known as a seed. The seed allows a user to easily back up and restore a wallet without needing any other information and can in some cases allow the creation of public addresses without the knowledge of the private key.

29) Explain the difference between a public and private blockchain
A private blockchain merely acts as a permissioned network that enables entities to secure information.  A private blockchain is not actually a true blockchain since the access to it is restricted to pre-selected parties. Public blockchain is what it name says; public. Anyone can join on the network without having to apply for permission etc. Anyone can see what happens on the blockchain, which is not something you can do on a private blockchain.

30) Explain the difference between a permissioned and permissionless blockchain
Properly permissioned blockchain networks differ from unpermissioned blockchain networks solely based on the presence (or absence) of an access control layer built into the blockchain clients.

The first primary difference between a properly conceived permissioned blockchain network and an unpermissioned blockchain network is whether the participants in the network have an ability to restrict who can participate in the consensus mechanism of the blockchain’s network.

31) Name three exchanges where people can buy DigiBytes:
https://poloniex.com/, https://bittrex.com/, https://yobit.net/

32) Name three places people can spend DigiBytes:
https://www.digibytemarket.com/en/shop/#!/d/home, http://glivet.com/, http://sanfranciscoseoagency.com/cryptocurrency/

33) What is the current block reward?
~1042 Digibytes/block

26) What is OP_RETURN?
OP_RETURN is a script opcode used to mark a transaction output as invalid.

27) What is the difference between a full node an an SPV wallet?
Full nodes download every block and transaction and check them against COINS core consensus rules, SPV wallet (Simplfied Payment Verification)
is a  method for verifying particular transactions were included in a block without downloading the entire block. The method is used by some lightweight Bitcoin clients.

28) What is a deterministic wallet?
Deterministic wallet is a system of deriving keys from a single starting point known as a seed.
The seed allows a user to easily back up and restore a wallet without needing any other information

29) Explain the difference between a public and private blockchain
A private blockchain is just like a public one when it comes to the distribute aspect of the data, multiple computers (nodes) are comneceted
through a protocol and they exchange transactions and help mentain a common ledger.
Unlike a public one the private blockchain is behind a firewall and can only be mined by computers that are on that network.
It is also generally used just within a company, behind their firewall and is only available to the emplyees and systems on that company.
You can say a public blockchain is a democracy where all the computers and organizations decide together where they are going and what changes to implement.
In a private one, there is generally a dictatorship because everything is owned by one company.

30) Explain the difference between a permissioned and permissionless blockchain
PERMISSIONLESS
In order to contribute to the processing of transactions and have your ‘vote’ counted, you do not need a previous relationship with the ledger,
and your vote does not depend on having a prior identity of any kind within the ledger.
PERMISSIONED
Transactions are validated and processed by those who are already recognized by the ledger.
Your vote counts proportionally against everyone else’s, based on the specific rules of the ledger.

1) What is a block?
block : A grouping of all transactions sent over the DigiByte network within a 30 second time frame. Think of a block as an excel spreadsheet that lists the address location of all DigiBytes at a given point in time in history. New DigiBytes are brought into circulation as each block is discovered on the network through a process called mining.
2) What is a blockchain?
A blockchain : The DigiByte blockchain is the entire history of all blocks discovered on the network & therefore all transactions made on the network. Each block references the proceeding block all the way back to the beginning of the network to what is known as the genesis block. By linking blocks (spreadsheets) together an accurate, secure accounting of all up to date DigiByte ownership is made by decentralized consensus.

Wink

Im not the one holding you for doing it Smiley

Why would that stop you? You don't need to be a dev to contribute.

9When Jared broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the the souls of the investors who had been slain because of scammy devs and their shitcoins, and because of the false promises which they had believed; 10and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Jared, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our investment money on those scammy devs with their false promises?" 11And there was given to each of them a stash of DigiBytes; and they were told that they should be patient for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow DigiByte investors and their brethren who were scammed even as they had been, would be completed also.

DigiByte Revelations 6: 9-11  Cool Cheesy
lol.  Scammed investor need cast out his false idols on an exchange or something before he receives any Digibyte and only then will his soul be freed!    Grin
