Grin Don't rush the big exchange people it's coming, picking up at the cheap now. If you can not tell what an artificial dump is you don't know crypto  Grin

Edit: watch the race to buy coming soon.

Baseless speculation. In the meanwhile it's hemhorraging hashrate at a monstrous level.

Exactly...everyone doesn't want to throw away the chance to mine other profitable coins in hopes that Utc makes it to a market it can grow in. Obviously the crypto market is still young and it could all crash hard, but coins that are doing well is a obvious choice over coins that have no insight on thier future. I believe the devs owe it to the miners and shareholders of utc to disclose any info they can to keep this coin alive. Just saying " it's gonna be big" doesn't cut it. I can see that in the trollboxes if i wanted to.

I wish this coin had kept climbing, but now I am forced to mine alts in order to pay off equipment cost. Although I have not sold the coins I mined, I can't chance this coin untill it gets a foothold and stabilizes. I am probably like a lot of the new miners trying to recoup the cost of thier equipment and then hold coins for future trades And hope to make some money, like an investment portfolio. Anyone else in the same boat?

same boat dude. we all take risks, hopefully this one does pay off like we thought from the beginning.

maybe were just waiting for the devs to get things ironed out before its released further?

They ARE good concepts and what attracted me to UTC. But I don't think anyone outside of the mining community even knows about UTC or what it offers. If the devs were smart, they'd be publicizing the heck out of this. Again - devs - tell us what we can do to help.

0.00054 and falling.

Some 10k+ dumps happening, looks like a race to the bottom with only a handful of  faithful dreamers still holding tight their coins because... it's gonna be big!

I find it hilarious that the dumpers think/thought that anything would release and skyrocket to high prices immediately... How long did it take BTC/LTC to get up there again? .... EXACTLY.

+1. That was good for the start eg the somewhat elusive nature. Having to patch & compile cgminer etc etc. Now it's bottlenecked. Crypto-trade is quite woeful. Feels like a bunch of IT guys have hidden a vm on an old box at work. Not being able to throw bandwidth add it so to not get caught.....
But, then I think about it again:

A fictional scenario for a fictional coin:

If you were the creator or the creators : all you would be truly interested in is what cash you make. There is no regulation, there are no rules. So you do a bit of premine (lets say...hmmm..2Mil) get some two bit exchages on board, throw a few well placed fractions of BTC as buy orders thru the exchange as bait and watch / write some blogs / bit of forum thread etc etc. Once some traction is gained :Cash some in - just to cover expenses until then. Then buy some more. Then convince larger exchange to take it on board You know when. Nobody else does. Show network hash / difficulty curve from the last few days etc to make a convincing argument.
Get the go ahead off the record ? (we are not in any way or form regulated so anything goes)  Start dumping, carefully, buy a few back. Shake all weak hands by orchestrating a panic. Buy it all back cheap and debut on the large exchange. Bit of hype & job done. Cash out a good cut. Rinse & repeat.

But: this needs full co-operation / successful trolling of those that hold coins. Once it gets to a certain volume and price you just HOLD. For christs sake we are talking hours and days of HOLD here, not years.

Just my two UTC

For the record I'm not trying to spread FUD, I'm just reporting what I see.
And no I didn't "dump" yet!

But someone has manipulated price and someone else (a dev or 2??) has, several thousands worth, I personally witnessed 10,000  being sold at 0.00055 for NO REASON, the current price was above that!

What's going on?
Weak hands is whats going on... I wish my BTC deposit would go through already so I can take advantage of this  Cry

people start to panic sell when they see the few walls getting eaten...this is trading not manipulation...
its only on a small exchange what do you expect low volumes

--->> @BUMFACE

I am a believer in this coin UTC and i am mining it  serieously....

I believe it has to get on Cryptsie or on BTC-E, other wise the coin will stay little and ends up at place nr 30 between the rest of coins.

Bumface, you spoked before you are in contact with different trading companies on the WWW.

Can you give any sort of status update ?

Is there any serious possibility UTC get on Cryptsie or BTC-E in short time ?

+1

Any news is better than no news. Right now, UTC is young but it seems to be just let too loose.
It would be good if such future plans / expectations were laid out either here or via twitter or both.
CT was definitely good start but with that kind of trade volume, it's only going to go down not up...

Getting UTC on coinwars would be a great platform for getting out there, followed by a coordinated effort from the community.  that would shine a nice spotlight on us.

What's going on?

If you see the miners at Nitro, many have 50+ MH/s mining UTC.
They can mine 2000-3000 UTC per day even at diff of 30!!

I'm sure they don't care if UTC dies or not. All they care is about profitability.
If it's more profitable than mining DOGE or middlecoin etc, they will mine UTC, then sell to BTC. Simple.

They will dump to panic, and then the will pump and say see, we told you that you should have believed in us.

People can be dumb. Enjoy your coin.

For those on linux and that can't be bothered / can't patch & compile cgminer for scrypt-jane support:

I have done it last week, contails all the required libraries eg ATI etc. Works successfully, been stable for days. Running it on BAMT 1.3 from separate folder than sgminer. Just make sure you stop your mining sessions on bamt before kicking off cgminer from the commandline

1. download my compiled version (all source / libraries in the zip and no I haven't been malicious eg I am just trying to support the coin as much as I can)
   https://mega.co.nz/#!A1YUCDCa!aI7DmQ-WEVwgsdHxc_h1Ewe2L9SloGuNMkpRpgAPRsI

2. unzip
3. Create account / workers / pool whatever you need to do
4. Execute the following shell commands (timings below etc for R9 280X +- 570kh - mining UTC ie mod as required) from within /cgminer-build/cgminer-3.7.2 folder (or write a script):

export DISPLAY=:0
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
./cgminer --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -o stratum+tcp://xxxx:3333 -u xxx.1 -p xxx -I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-fan 30-75 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-target 72 --temp-overheat 85 --thread-concurrency 8191 -Q 0 -E 10 --no-submit-stale --gpu-engine 1065 --gpu-memclock 1500

6. Should be up and running hashing away on Scrypt-Jane (hopefully UTC)

How did anybody think the price was not going down? Way, way too many premined coins were sold for very cheap. You think people won't sell at 10x their buy-in? On that exchange there's not enough BTC to buy through the dumpers. Of course another issue right now is that many potential buyers can't transfer their BTC from one exchange to the other.

I think the coin can survive and recover, but this was predictable. With all the crashes going on people get edgy and want to materialize some of that profit.
