5% Bitcoin Discount - All Orders

After reviewing the thread I've decided against listing our items on Bitmit. I would be listing relatively expensive products using Escrow, and in the case that a transaction went awry it seems I would have to work hard to recover the funds. It seems Bitmit is not serious about growing their business otherwise we would be receiving responses regarding the many unhappy buyers and sellers.

Having said this, if any of you would like to purchase from my store but are uncomfortable due to lack of trust, I would be more than happy to Escrow the transaction through a trusted forum member (not Bitmit).

Good luck to you all and I hope your future transactions are smoother!

Hi, I placed an order (no escrow) a few days ago, the seller cancelled the order because could not ship. The BTC is confirmed received. Since no escrow, I am unable to claim BTC back. Status is now that BTC is received and item not shipped. When asking the seller to release BTC back to me, s/he says I must ask Bitmit support for my BTC. I have written to Bitmit support, but no response. Who is holding my BTC, the seller or Bitmit? Could not the seller just release the BTCs?

Hi. Please tell us your username or the order id so we can investigate. Thank you.

Well if bitmit doesn't help me recover my funds that have been blatentently stolen from me I will not be supporting them anymore

As saod in my last posting. Zthis seller has gone two weeks now. Not a word not even a fuck you. Actually day 13 I got a fuck you then he marked the item as shipped and denyed release of coins.  In 7 more days HE will have my coins.  Atleast that's what the escrow now says.  I habe no more options to protest.

This is my first bad deal with bitcoin so if this sounds like a noobish fret, bitch etc.  It's probably because of that fact it's the first time.

We got your msg, refunded your Coins and banned the seller. Sorry that you got no special reply to this, we thought the refund notification would do it.

I am considering listing some our products on Bitmit to minimize the trust issues with our new store. Are consumers purchasing expensive items (such as laptops, mobile phones, cameras etc) on Bitmit?

Hi CoinTech!

Sorry for that late response here on bitcointalk.

We would be very glad to see your items on Bitmit. You are welcome to get in touch with our account managers, just write us a short mail support@bitmit.net .

Excellent points. ALL.

So hey bitmit, why not (as gizmo suggested) let some sellers & buyers deal directly with each other (at least those that want to) - and you can perhaps charge a fee for each sale and/or for my storefront?
We are amenable to advice and feature suggestions. Let me clarify, you want to do trades without using our escrow service and automatic redirection of the payment to your bitcoin address?

Currently we only allow a few sellers to make trades on Bitmit without escrow, otherwise too many users would get scammed. We are working on a verification for trusted merchants, they would be allowed to sell without escrow and get the payment directly.

New feature:
Search bar on the user page so users can search only items of specific users

Btw: What do you think of a SMS/phone verification for sellers on Bitmit?

If that means I could phone you to verify your identity prior to selling on Bitmit, yeah, that would be awesome but maybe not enough.

Yes, that's it. If you can add this feature that would be another positive.

As for your anonymity, I have mixed thoughts on it. On the one hand, it's good, because it may allow you to operate with less concern over grey-areas in regulations that could limit all involved (i.e you/the service, the buyer & the seller). On the other hand, I don't feel secure putting expensive items up for sale. I think a trusted 3rd. party escrow service would really help your business.

That being said.... bitmit appears to be the most prominent and most promising bitcoin alternative to ebay AND you do seem to respond very well to concerns here.

Thanks for being open to suggestions and for providing this service to the community!

It may be nice, but the one thing I really like about bitmit is how low the fees are. That's why I sell here. You start having to pay 3rd parties, and now the fees go up.

Also, I'm a little confused because I used to be qualified to list things without escrow, and now I'm not. Did the requirements change?

The fees could be even lower if we didn't have affiliate codes.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

If low fees is an argument to trust a shady business, you most likely didn't learn a lesson with pirateat40?

Sure, if the money bitmit holds at any given time is only about what they earn in a month, it's quite unlikely they will run with it as they can make more money running the business unless they have to terminate their business anyway for other reasons in which case they have to evaluate the value of the brand vs. the immediate profit they could make. How much reputation do they have if they start a new business? How many $$ would the brand be worth? I guess they shouldn't be holding more than that amount to be trustworthy.

Unfortunately they can forge these numbers if they had an interest in sharing numbers.

Please add something to prevent trolls.

I want to choose not to do business with accounts younger than 7 days and not with negative rated accounts.

Also, many new people don't get the system, there should be a detailed instruction on register.

I'm waiting for confirmation for 3 hours already...

We may reduce our wallet fee soon due to the raising Bitcoin value. At the time we introduced this fee bitcoin's value was very low. We charge 1.9% for every sales payment you get from a Bitmit order. In contrast to other services this is a very low fee. At this time our bitcoin daemon decides if a fee is added or not.

Exchange rates
Configurable exchange rates for your item prices are coming soon! We consider to make this module open source so people can write & submit plugins of their fav. exchange service and use it for other btc projects.

Please tell us the exchange services you would like to see supported on Bitmit. Currently we consider to introduce the following exchange services with all its supported currencies and types of it (last, weighted, 24h avg):

- mtgox.com
- bitstamp.net
- btc-e.com
- bitcoincharts.com (avg of all exchange services)
- bitcoin.de

Sorry that I forgot to reply. So you are mostly facing problems because customers don't know what Bitcoin is and how to pay, right?

Update:
Exchange rates:
From now on Bitmit uses Bitstamp.net's last USD rate as default Bitcoin exchange rate. Shortly you will be able to choose between several ones. Have a look at https://www.bitmit.net/en/exchangeRates.php to see our current conversion rates.
