Let the discussions about Dash PoW limitations and the possible (rather Dash specific) ways of changing this, begin Will Dash be moving away from PoW (mining), to some form of ChainLocks/BLS based staking ? Or will Dash change from PoW into a hybrid form (PoW & ChainLocks/BLS staking) ? Or will there be support for another solution ? Watch below referred Youtube video and stay tuned.... Dash Evolution Open House 2019https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=12401&v=ie7fJMw5WIo&feature=emb_logoTimestamp to watch from (in case the video does not pick it up automatically) --> 3:26:44 Source where i initially picked this topic up from : https://www.reddit.com/r/dashpay/comments/e7qeha/the_goal_isrewardsnot_towards_our_masternodes_but/

To those of you feeling bored on this sunday : Link : https://github.com/dashpay/dash/releasesJust remember to check the hashes of the binaries ! ( https://www.reddit.com/r/dashpay/comments/e5bzkb/dont_get_hacked_check_the_hash_of_files_you/) To masternode owners : latest version of Sentinel is 1.4.0, so no need to also update Sentinel (unless you are on an older version). On a side note : i do hope that once Dash Core v1.0 gets released on the Github Master directory somewhere in 2020, it will also be announced pretty soon after on all platforms simultaneously. Which means avoiding a Github release in the weekends and taking into account the different time zones during the week.

Why Does Cryptocurrency Have a #FakeNews Problem? The cryptocurrency industry has a problem with fake news and poor journalism. There’s no getting around this reality, and it affects key perceptions with the space today, leaving lingering misconceptions and investors confused and uninformed about the realities going on in the space. After a recent piece by Bitcoinist spread harmful rumors without concrete evidence (then demanded concrete evidence in order to retract what they published without said evidence to begin with), igniting a firestorm of copycat publications repeating the same inaccurate information without verification, I think it’s time to have a real talk.

At the moment this ecosystem is still very young and it is into accumulation phase sooner it will get matured and this market will turn into giant than it will keep moving with more confidence.

Personally, yesterday's presentation of the Dash Core has let me down as an investor.
If I had to score it over 100 I would give it a 50, and it would be generous.
I counted at best 235 people online. 235! when there are almost 5000 master nodes.
The only thing that explains this is that these nodes are in very few hands. Any holder, holder of one or more nodes would do the impossible to listen to the live talk.
Then, I wanted to see the evolution platform on testnet or some online wallet working to demonstrate those old phrases of the missing Evan "he will know how to use it until my grandmother"
After years in this project, I see that instead of clarity clouds appear on the horizon ... undo the PoW?
Stronger currencies in coinmarket like BTC, LTC, BCH show that the problem of Dash's low price doesn't come from there. The PoW is the way to give security.
Experiments now, after years working well?
Sorry, I repeat that it is not what I expected. So many and so many funds spent over years in Dash Core to stay here?
If BTC had Dash's treasure imagine where he would already be. While theoretically it only lives on donations and non-profit people.
It was the last bullet for Dash, and those who will have a worse time will be those of his team ... increasingly reduced by not having a clear guideline.
Good luck to everyone.

Dash Core Group Announces Bold Ideas to Improve Dash’s Lagging Market Performance Dash Core Group’s CEO Ryan Taylor laid out a bold plan to fix Dash’s poor price performance relative to the rest of the cryptocurrency markets, including potentially reducing the proof-of-work mining reward and introducing elements of proof-of-stake. This was previously alluded to in an extended Twitter thread earlier in the week.

I think Ryan made a good move by adding possible PoW model changes and possible Governance model changes to the agenda of the Open House, as a way of officially kicking off the discussion on those two topics (it gets maximum attention and maximum publicity during such an event). I also think this will get us lengthy and time-consuming discussions, and the results of these discussions and polling proposals (several months later) will do little to our current bear market situation. But i can see the outcome having more of an impact on Dash future market cycles, if the solution indeed manage to bring the inflation percentage down from 7% to a much more competitive inflation percentage and if the solution can indeed strengthen Dash store of value.

My take away on the open house was ... this is lots of work and its going to take some serious time. Evo is on its way after years and we have years to go! I agree with staking and providing a % back to users for "savings" if security can be accomplished without miners, cool. I have never seen a multi-year roadmap like this for a crypto project so I'll continue my support for Dash and hodl. If MNs price starts to drop next year against BTC, maybe I'll convert and turn some on.
It was nice to hear about some of the history but the elephant in the room is always where is Evan? If Dash Labs help design the 2nd blockchain that will be used on the MNs, why not speak to that?
I feel this was Ryan's best presentations.
Considering this event was not required -- I'd give them a 95 / 100. The amount of information DCG releases now compared to 2 years ago is really night and day and I will continue my support for DCG also.

I feel this was Ryan's best presentations.
I agree, I like his non-thecnical but economic and social approach. He is thinking long term vision, like he should. The problem of most crypto projects is that they are lead by developers. I like we are not. Developers just "code" the project. We need the long term vision, and this includes economic, game theory, sociological, etc. aproach. For me PoW system is the elephant in the room. I talked in the Zurich meetup in september with some members about that. PoW it's a great idea and it works, but we can do it better. We don't need this kind of energy consumption to secure the network. We can do it in a more efficient way. PoW is like killing mosquitoes with napalm. It works fine, yeah. There is a green revolution outside, and we cannot be left outside. Ethereum is swiftying to PoS and all the major altcoin will do the same. With chainlocks we did half the way of the change. Now after listening Ryan speech I am even more convinced of that. The wasteful of PoW are even more toxic than I thought. I will continue my support for DCG also.
me too.

Nathaniel Luz - An Inspirational Crypto Leader for NigeriansAfter having been pretty much ignored financially for an eternity, it seems that Africa may be in quite a position to take blockchain technology and run with it. The opportunities blockchain provides for the legions of African unbanked are numerous. The benefits of digital currencies such as Dash that will improve commerce and the quality of life for the African people cannot be ignored. As such, early blockchain adopters such as today's guest have made it a life's mission to teach their peers all about this potentially life-altering technology. In the case of today's guest, Nigerian Nathaniel Luz, it's a love of Dash and a belief that it is a better money that will lead to a better future for his people that drives him. He created a proposal called Dash Nigeria and submitted to Dash's Decentralized Autonomous Organization. It has received intermittent funding, and let me tell you, he's done the most with it. His passion for Dash also shows through by him authoring what may be the first hard copy book about the evolution of money with Dash as a major focus. Please enjoy the interview! Thanks for watching!

Proof of stake? I thought you guys are professionals) feels like a completely commercial decision pushed by long consequences of bitmain monopoly. idea of adding new flow of income is good, but PoS would give tooooo much power to some network users. there might be a way to make it mild with less impact, some passive flavor with certain conditions, etc. but dropping healthy and secured pow because of $$...
if i would be one of users who paid thousands of dollars for x11 box - id be veeery pissed))))

There are several options or even combination of options available to Dash, which will need to be researched, documented, discussed and then voted upon by masternode owners. Which will take time, a lot of time. * It could be a form of ChainLocks staking for users that offers better security, then the more typical PoS models out there. Dash has some advantages in that area, thanks to its multi-tiered network. * It could be a form of Masternode Shares. This will be a solution with more focus and more impact on the masternode network. Its something that has been requested by the Dash community for a long time. * It could be a form of staking through deterministic holders listing. It will need a minimum number of Dash (100 Dash has been mentioned as an example), to protect the Dash network against overload. * It could be a form of ChainLocks staking & PoW as backup. Dash miners influence on the network will be reduced, but we will still need to make sure that X11 hashing power remains dominant on Dash network (to protect Dash from 51% attacks from other X11 networks). Link : https://i.imgur.com/N9ZSTpz.jpgSource : https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=12401&v=ie7fJMw5WIo&feature=emb_logoAlso i'm pretty sure there will be a lengthy grace period for miners, if the decision is to phase out Dash mining completely. Also if we were to compare this to Ethereum's decision to switch to PoS, i'm not seeing a whole lot of pissed Ethereum miners there either, so why would there be pissed Dash miners when we are obviously still in such an early stage ? I agree with Ryan Taylor that something needs to be done about Dash high inflation rate (7.5%). Not to benefit Dash economically in the short term, but to benefit Dash economically in the long term. This is just the start of a Dash community-wide discussion, about what Dash can do about its inflation rate and what Dash can do to increase its store of value. Two important topics of discussion.
