DRK is crypto platinum to BTC gold. Diamonds are actually as common as muck, the deBeers cartel just hoard them.

366,156 DMD    very rare coin http://coinmarketcap.com/

So they've been around since 2009, and there is only a $200,000 market cap?

yes i have but it still dnt have the features of DRK, but good coin and yes very rare, BUT DRK is comparable to BTC in it's potential, DMD is rare and has some good features but it's not on the same level as DRK, so i hope it gets pumped but anyone who dumped there DRK for it would be silly imo

I was contemplating the financial effect of masternodes in terms of fractional inflation that Bitcoin might be subject to. Exchanges tend to be a parking place for a large number of coins which can lead to MtGox situations where the exchange is actually transacting with non-existing coins (something like fractional banking)... by transacting with non-existent coins, the demand is reduced for actual coins (=bad for price). The same might apply to payment processors where they can do away with cryptos if a client only cares abouf fiat.

The incentive to pull 1000s of DRKs into DarkSend nodes will significantly reduce the parked DRKs and the ability of third parties to make fractional practices with DRKs that they do not own, which is good for the price. At the same time, risk exposure to hacked exchanges that lose hundreds of thousands of coins will also be reduced as the coins parked will be less. However there is the individual risk of each running node to get hacked, so this needs to be very well thought out. 100 nodes running = 100k DRK bounty for hackers.

It'll be an interesting experiment for sure...

Still cheap, Dark is in the highs, Diamond lows.

Eeehhh?  Huh

A week ago DMD was 0.0002 now it is 0.001 (=5x)

A week ago DRK was 0.0015 and now it's 0.0038 (=2.5x)

DMD is twice as pumped as DRK.

i agree that drk is a better coin. but you won't be seeing 3x4x5x growth any time soon, it's already in the highs. Diamond is at a very low price with a very small amount available, a lot of scope for 3x4x5x6x7x8x9x10x..etc very cheap and with new updates will be seeing plenty of activity soon

it's already in the highs - oh you

How old then? The website says "Currency generation follows an 8 year linear production process (2009-2018)".

bought 4btc drk at 500   Huh Huh I;m the worst trader  Cry
This was expected IMO. You should get advice from someone for your trades, but don't worry just hold those coins.
The price was increasing too quickly for the market to sustain it. I'm sure that we will see prices above 0.005 soon.

well in all honesty 2 months ago it was at around 1.50 each, and they were at that leavel for a while so it wouldn't suprise me if they went up but anyways this is the DRK  thread so lets just drop it, both good, both different, best luck to both

I think it is either -k X, for command line (could also be -k A, can't remember) but I always use the config files to set params anyway...try "kernel" : "darkcoin"

Please let's calm down. Bitcoin didn't go up overnight. Warren Buffett didn't make his billions overnight. Darkcoin won't go to BTC parity overnight. But I think it could make a serious play on BTC in the coming months.

Instead of running commentary on the short term swings in price, let's get to work on developing the community and promoting the benefits of anonymous transactions. Not many people know about DRK. Let's get to work people. That's how we'll change the fortunes of DRK supporters/investors.

I'm editing/rewriting the Darkcoin website copy. I plan to have something to show by the end of the week. I also recently wrote that media release and I plan to write more releases as DRK develops. Other people are putting in some good work.
